As The Wind Blows Your Scent To Me

Chapter 158 - What's Wrong With Him?

What had actually happened?

Himari didn't even know how did she manage to enter her apartment unit. She only realized that she had been in a daze ever since she walked away from Kazuya earlier.

It could be said that Himari felt she was acting like a robot as she changed out of her clothes, entered the washroom and had a shower. Her senses only returned when she was sitting in front of the vanity mirror to brush her hair.

That man...

Kissed her forehead?

Himari blushed in shame. Her blush intensified as she saw her own reflection in the mirror, showing how red her face was and how flustered she looked.

Really, that sneaky man suddenly kissed her forehead.

Himari knocked her head a few times, trying to get the image out of her mind.

"Meow~"

Himari was startled. She looked down at the feline who was entangling with her feet. Her fat furry son was flicking his tail against her right calf.

"Hey, Chobi. How's your day? Did you go and see your girlfriend?"

Chobi stared back at his mama.

"Meow, meow~"

Then, as if he wasn't the one bothering his mama first, Chobi ran away from Himari before he jumped on the bed. The tabby curled into a ball and bared his fangs as he yawned.

"Hey, you lazy cat!" Himari stood up from the chair of the vanity table. With a hand on her hip, she squinted her eyes at the orange puddle on the bed, "It's still early yet you're already sleepy. I don't think you have made something productive today."

"Meow~"

Himari scoffed as Chobi continued to ignore her. She turned around and walked out of the bedroom to go to the living room. Himari threw herself on the strawberry couch.

Just by sitting like this, the scene of Kazuya gently stroking her face before he kissed her forehead was replayed in her mind.

Once again her face flushed in embarrassment.

"What's wrong with him?" Himari murmured under her breath.

Even though it happened in just a few minutes and their surroundings at that time were only illuminated by the lamp poles, the tenderness in the man's eyes before he softly brushed his lips on her forehead was clearly visible to Himari.

After Kazuya let her go, his eyes and smile were still dripping with honey. He chuckled as he gently stroked her face again.

"Sorry, I'm enchanted by you."

Those were the man's words before he urged her to go upstairs. Himari was already in a daze as she waved her hand at him and entered the apartment compound.

"...argh! How could he look so composed at that time?"

Himari cowered in shame as she found that her heart fluttered by his sudden gesture. She even found that the man was more handsome and pleasing to the eyes, especially when she saw how soft his smile was to her.

"I need to sleep, yes. I need to sleep."

Thus, after a few minutes of sitting on the couch, Himari abruptly rose up to her feet and ran back to her room. She didn't even consider the three-hour nap she had in Kazuya's condominium a few hours ago.

It was embarrassing to act like a teenage girl who got surprised by her crush but, Himari couldn't tone down what she was feeling right now.

Geez... Did that man purposely do that to make sure she fell in love sooner with him?

Himari's eyes darted to the crystal lamp that she got from him before they started their relationship.

Without her realizing it, her fingers touched her lips.

What if next time...

Ah! Don't think about it!

Himari quickly retracted her fingers from her lips. She covered her face with the blanket. It was too shameful to think further.

If Nanako knew how did she react by just a simple kiss on her forehead, her dear friend would surely laugh out loud and jest her for being this shy. Nanako might even teach her how to respond to what Kazuya had done.

Another layer of red spread on Himari's face.

Ugh...

At the villa.

Kazuya had just walked out of the bathroom when his eyes caught a certain dumpling staring angrily at him from her bed. He almost let out a sigh.

Chiharu was lying with her favorite bunny toy. The dumpling was making a mess of his bed by rolling around like a ball.

"Chiharu, why aren't you sleeping yet? Where's your big brother?"

Kazuya crossed his arms and stared at the dumpling who was now standing up. Even with the help of the bed's height, Chiharu could only reach below his chest.

"Big Brother play play with his phone. Chiharu smell yakitori from Uncle," The dumpling eyed her uncle with accusation. Her lips were forming a pout, "Uncle go where with Teacher Kato? Uncle no bring Chiharu with you two!"

"Cough... You don't have to know."

Kazuya turned around from the dumpling, averting his guilty face from being seen. He had really forgotten that this dumpling was being sulky with him because he didn't want to bring her together earlier.

Even after coming home, this dumpling didn't let him go easily.

Chiharu had been constantly asking Kazuya questions about where did he took Himari as well as what did they eat together. Of course, the latter questions were the most important.

"Uncle, Chiharu wanna see Teacher Kato too! Chiharu cannot see Teacher Kato at school ah~"

She felt so wronged until now!

The angry squirrel jumped down from the bed then ran to pounce at Kazuya's legs. He almost staggered due to the sudden impact.

The man raised his brows in helplessness at Chiharu who was now hugging his right leg. He stopped drying his hair with a towel.

"Chiharu, didn't you say you want Teacher Kato to be your aunt?"

Chiharu grinned, "Yes! Chiharu can call Teacher Kato aunt now?"

Kazuya deliberately put on a worried face. He rubbed his chin, pretending to think hard over something before he spoke, "Hurm, how could you call her aunt soon if you insist to follow us along wherever you go."

"Why ah?" Chiharu blinked. She didn't understand.

Mischief glinted in Kazuya's eyes yet he still wore the same expression as he seriously said, "Your uncle here is still trying to win Teacher Kato's heart. We have to go on dates just the two of us. If you or your brother follow, how could your uncle be closer with your favorite Teacher Kato?"

"Ah? Why's that?" She couldn't understand.

Kazuya was still patient as he continued "Haven't you seen the princess film? The prince and the princess went on a date in the forest by themselves before they got married."

Chiharu wasn't convinced, "The prince and the princess go date only once but, Uncle goes to date with Teacher Kato more than once already ah. Does Uncle fail?"

Kazuya almost choked in disbelief. How could she assume that way?

"Of course we have to go on dates more, we're real people. The prince and princess were in a two-hour film. All of their dates can't be put inside a short one. Moreover, do you think your uncle would really fail?"

Kazuya was firmly contemplating his views of life as he found he was seriously deceiving a five-year-old girl. Even though this was not the first time it happened, he must say that he was actually ashamed of it.

Really... Having a niece made him that way.

"En, okay ah."

Chiharu's next reply made Kazuya breathed out in relief.

"Enough, go to sleep," Kazuya bent down and picked the dumpling up. He sternly warned the chubby little girl, "You stay up until now to interrogate your uncle? It's better for you to sleep. You have school tomorrow."

"Aw~" Chiharu let out a sigh like an old woman.

Kazuya had an impulse to pinch her chubby cheeks. He quickly brought the dumpling and her bunny toy back to her room.

After tucking the dumpling in her pink velvet blanket, Kazuya patted her head, "Sleep well. Don't you suddenly come running out of the room, understand? Your uncle and your brother are tired already."

"Boo... Okay ah," Chiharu pouted. She blinked cutely while hugging her toy, "Good night, Uncle, hehe~"

His eyes were soft, "Good night, my little princess."

Kazuya switched on the bedside lamp in the shape of a bunny beside Chiharu's princess bed. Pink and orange glow dimly lit up the room. He quietly closed the door.

Aye... Dealing with his niece had always been tiresome.

The entire villa was quiet save for the faint sound of his footsteps echoing in the hallway.

Kazuya's steps paused in front of the windows. He stood quietly while looking up to the night sky.

He didn't know why did he suddenly want to touch her that way. What crossed his mind at that time was, he was really enchanted by her.

Although Kazuya felt guilty because he didn't ask Himari first before kissing her forehead, a form of intimate touch, he was relieved to see her trance look in her eyes after he let her go.

She wasn't repulsive by the sudden intimacy. Even under the dim lights, he could sense she was feeling bashful but, there was no uncomfortable feeling coming from her.

"I hope I could bring her back to my place again soon," Kazuya's voice was so soft as he was still looking at the night sky.

Because Himari fell asleep, he didn't get the opportunity to show her the rest of his condominium unit. There were a few things that he wanted her to see.

"The moon is bright tonight," He smiled faintly, "But..."

To him, she was more dazzling than the full moon accompanied by the twinkling stars.
