Chapter 36 The Chitauri's Advanced Weapons

Chapter 36 The Chitauri's Advanced Weapons

In the office, Martin, a Black man, sat in his office chair and took three envelopes from his drawer, tossing them to Logan and his team.

"The reward is twenty thousand." Martin was concise, uttering not a single wasted word.

Samuel and Josh took their envelopes, opened them, and counted the green dollars inside. They looked on with great interest, already figuring out where they would spend the night.

Logan, however, did not have such refined tastes. After glancing at the thickness of the envelope, he stuffed it into his pocket.

At that moment, all he could think about was the Chitauri weapons.

If he remembered correctly, the weapons were temporarily stored in a logistics warehouse in this area, and they might be somewhere in the warehouse below right now.

If we can find a way to make some noise, maybe he can leave with the professor and Caliban first thing tomorrow morning!

Thinking of this, Logan felt a surge of excitement, but he didn't rashly go directly to find the weapons. Instead, he followed Josh and Samuel out of the warehouse, and the three of them went to a bar near the warehouse for a good drink.

This is a bar that's open all night. Hot dancers, blasting music, and dazzling lights keep the bar in a constant frenzy. The three of them sit at the bar watching the beautiful women dancing on the poles, chugging beer to relieve their fatigue from the journey.

Nearly an hour later, Samuel and Josh were both slightly drunk and began to ramble incoherently.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Logan made an excuse to go to the restroom and dashed out of the bar, quickly returning to the logistics warehouse.

This logistics warehouse is very large, with surveillance cameras everywhere, and armed guards patrolling from time to time.

The Lawrence family has connections throughout Santa Fe, wielding influence in both the legal and illegal worlds. Their guards can shoot any stranger who breaks into their warehouses without restraint.

Logan hid in the darkness, carefully avoiding surveillance cameras and patrolling guards, while following the outer wall of the warehouse in search of a way to enter.

He wanted to provoke a conflict between the Lawrence family and S.H.I.E.L.D., but he didn't want Chris to discover his intention to escape before the two sides officially started fighting.

"Damn it!"

As Logan circled the warehouse, he couldn't help but mutter a curse under his breath.

The warehouse's main and back doors were all locked and equipped with highly advanced alarm locks. Any attempt to pry open or forcibly damage the doors would trigger an alarm that could be heard for a radius of five kilometers, attracting a large number of guards.

Logan looked up at the ventilation duct with a sigh.

This is currently the only entrance available to the inside of the warehouse.

Extending his steel claws and inserting them into the crack in the wall, Logan quickly climbed up the ventilation duct at the top of the warehouse, removed the blockage outside the duct, and successfully entered the duct, crouching low and stealthily moving through the narrow passage.

Through the ventilation openings in the passageway, Logan could clearly see that the warehouse was brightly lit, with surveillance cameras scattered throughout the corners and guards patrolling regularly.

Taking advantage of the moment when the guards passed by, Logan removed a ventilation opening and quietly entered the warehouse.

Carefully avoiding guards and surveillance, Logan finally found the boxes for BU-26 and BU-27 stored in a corner of the warehouse.

Although he had found his target, Logan still couldn't act rashly.

"This location is way too tricky!"

He couldn't help but mutter a complaint under his breath.

The two boxes of goods were surrounded by surveillance cameras, leaving no blind spots for him to get close.

After staring at the surveillance cameras around the goods for a moment, Logan turned to look at the monitoring room on the second floor of the warehouse.

He had been to this warehouse before, entering under the guise of delivering goods, so he was quite familiar with the environment.

Quietly approaching the monitoring room, I carefully pushed the door open and entered.

There was only one guard in the monitoring room. Perhaps he was bored with guarding all those rows of surveillance equipment, because he kept yawning and didn't even notice Logan quietly coming up behind him.

Logan stretched out his palm and, without hesitation, chopped off the back of his neck, knocking him unconscious. He then put on the man's coat and began working on the computer.

After some fiddling, the surveillance footage froze completely, making it impossible to record any real footage.

Having dealt with these issues, Logan once again bypassed the guards and returned to the two boxes of goods.

Without the surveillance, Logan was completely unrestrained. He casually opened the BU-26 crate, reached inside and took out the laser cannon, and couldn't help but examine it from head to toe.

"How do I start this thing?"

Logan looked at the high-tech laser cannon and was momentarily at a loss.

The slender gun looked to be about 1.3 meters long, and was entirely gold and silver in color. It had no magazine, but there was a muzzle at the front, and a blade for close combat was attached to the bottom. However, there was no safety or loading device in sight. Logan thought it was more like a cold weapon with a trigger than a gun.

Just as Logan was carefully examining the weapon, a loud shout suddenly came from behind him.

"Who are you!"

A guard raised his gun at Logan's back while pressing the alarm button on his chest.

As the piercing alarm blared, dozens of guards rushed in from all directions, instantly surrounding Logan.

Dozens of pistols, their black muzzles locked onto him.

Logan looked at the guards and sighed helplessly.

"Everyone, calm down," Logan said, holding the laser cannon.

He actually only intended to come and fire the laser cannon and that would be the end of it, but now it seems that it won't be that simple...

"Put your things down!"

A guard spoke sternly to Logan, looking warily at the laser cannon in his hand.

Although he didn't understand what it was, its appearance made him sense a dangerous aura...

"You mean this?"

Logan looked at the laser cannon in his hand, raised it, and aimed it at the guard, followed by a standoff with dozens of pistols.

Upon seeing this, everyone panicked instantly and instinctively took a step back.

"Put those things down right now!"

The guard roared, pointing his pistol at Logan's head, ready to fire at any moment.

"Alright."

Logan shrugged and decisively pulled the trigger.

Click!

As the sound of the trigger being pulled rang out, all the guards' expressions changed drastically. They had no intention of resisting at all and immediately threw themselves to the ground in terror, clutching their heads tightly with both hands.

Chris had told them more than once that the contents of that box were important and dangerous!

hum! ! !

The laser cannon emitted a buzzing sound.

But it only emitted a buzzing sound...

Logan stared blankly at the motionless laser cannon in his hand, completely dumbfounded.

"Damn it, it's a dud?!"

Logan wasn't sure if the problem was with the gun or with himself, since he'd only ever seen it in movies and had no idea how to use it.

When the guards lying on the ground saw that there was no movement, they all raised their heads.

Seeing the laser cannon that only made a buzzing sound but did not attack, the fear on his face instantly disappeared.

"Fuck, kill him!"

The guard suddenly stood up, his face filled with anger, feeling like he had been tricked. Without hesitation, he raised his pistol and was about to pull the trigger.

Boom!

But before he could fully pull the trigger, the laser cannon's buzzing stopped abruptly, and at the same time, a dazzling blue light suddenly gathered at the muzzle.

The sudden bright light was so dazzling that it was impossible to look directly at it. Even with your eyes closed, the blue light seemed to pierce through your eyelids and go straight for your pupils!

The dimly lit warehouse was instantly enveloped in this blue light, as if the entire warehouse had turned blue.

boom!

A brilliant blue beam of light shot out instantly, striking the guard in front of him.

In just one exchange, the guard's body seemed to be bombarded by a cannonball, his entire body instantly exploded, blood and flesh flew everywhere, and bone fragments flew in all directions!
