Two years passed in the blink of an eye, and the year X776 arrived.

In the past two years, Riyao has been focused on saving money to buy land and has been running around taking on commissions.

His top-notch healing magic had unknowingly spread throughout the entire Fiore region.

Healing mages are already scarce, and his skills are exceptionally outstanding. Soon his fame spread throughout the continent, and even the royal family of the kingdom secretly sent people to try to poach and recruit him.

The previous year was fine; he accepted all sorts of commissions, from monster hunting and escorting to exploration, earning bounties steadily.

But the following year, once his reputation spread, a flood of patients came to him, almost all of them seeking medical treatment and healing, and he couldn't possibly turn them all away.

Sunlight occasionally gets into combat, but only when he encounters bandits or troublesome monsters on his way to make house calls. He takes them down casually.

He looked down at the pile of medical appointment forms on the table and sighed to himself: it had been a long time since he had received a proper combat appointment.

Riyao neatly organized all the documents, stuffed a stack of authorization letters into his backpack, and slowly walked out of the temporary encampment.

This was the last job he had. A deadly epidemic had broken out in the town of Grese, and the situation was urgent.

This commission, jointly issued by the Council and the Kingdom, was handed to him by someone from the Council right after he finished his previous job.

After a brief rest, he took out a handful of ordinary plant seeds, and with a gentle flow of magic and pure life force in his palm, he waved his hand and scattered the seeds all over the town.

These seeds are special seedlings that Riyao cultivated by hand during his spare time over the past two years. They were originally intended for his own fields in the future. They not only gather pure vitality but also have a certain purifying power.

Amidst the swirling light, the roots of the fallen seeds stretched out to the fullest extent, and the tender shoots that broke through the soil grew wildly in the wind.

In the blink of an eye, branches sprouted and trunks grew tall, and trees rapidly grew into strong and upright giants, covering the streets and alleys of Gresse town.

The trees, lush and green, were enveloped in a soft, bluish light. As their branches and leaves breathed in and out, the air was purified, and the whole town was completely enveloped in a refreshing and vibrant life.

However, this was only a temporary measure and did not address the root cause of the epidemic.

Riyao's fingertips gently traced the trunk of the large tree beside him, the green light flowing through his palm as he felt the last trace of plague in the town being completely dispelled.

He turned to look at the medical staff from the council who were conducting follow-up examinations for residents not far away, and walked over.

"Excuse me," Riyao said calmly, "this plague seems to have come about strangely; it doesn't appear to have broken out naturally, does it?"

Upon hearing this, the medical worker wearing white gloves adjusted his glasses and became more serious.

"Mr. Sunshine is indeed perceptive. We have examined the patient and found subtle traces of magic in his body. If there are no surprises, it is a plague created by the Dark Guild, specifically targeting ordinary people, and it is extremely contagious."

"The Dark Guild?" Sunburst raised an eyebrow. "Any concrete leads?"

"It's still unclear which force it is."

The medical staff shook their heads and took out a report from their briefcase.

"However, in the past six months, three small towns on the Fiore border have successively experienced similar outbreaks of plague, with identical methods, suggesting they were the work of the same group. The council suspects that a newly emerging dark guild is testing some kind of ritual, or trying to create chaos through the plague."

Riyao took the report, quickly glanced at it, and traced the locations of the epidemic areas marked on the paper with his fingertips, getting a sense of the situation.

These towns are arranged in a straight line, as if it were deliberately planned.

"Thank you for informing me." He handed the report back, his gaze falling on the tallest purifying tree in the center of the town.

A hint of surprise flashed in the eyes of the medical staff.

"That would be perfect! With a top-tier healing mage like you here, and with your purifying forest, we'll have more time to deal with this."

Riyao tapped the trunk of the Purification Tree with his fingertips, and the green light swayed gently between his fingers.

"Since it was the Dark Guild that did this, we can't let them continue to wreak havoc on other towns."

He turned to look at the medical staff, his tone still relaxed.

"You guys keep an eye on the situation in the town, I'll go check out the surrounding areas. These epidemic areas are all on the front lines, maybe we can find their trail."

Without waiting for a response, Riyao had already picked up his backpack and walked out of town.

The long-awaited investigation mission was much more interesting than dealing with stacks of medical appointment forms. It was a good opportunity to stretch my muscles and bones; I couldn't just be a "mobile medical kit" all the time.

In the desolate forest outside the town, the roots of the purifying tree were still quietly spreading, and the green light seeped into the soil, which could help him track the remaining traces of magic.

Riyao followed the faint fluctuations of the spell forward, and before he had gone far, he smelled a faint stench of decay, mixed with twisted magic.

Pushing aside the dense bushes, a rudimentary magic circle was clearly visible in the open space ahead, along with some blackened herbs and broken magical artifacts scattered on the ground.

Riyao crouched down, his fingertips touching the ground, and pure life force slowly seeped in, instantly capturing the dark magic power remaining in the magic circle.

"The method was rather crude, but highly targeted, specifically designed to catalyze the plague virus."

He clicked his tongue, got up, and walked deeper into the woods. The magic hadn't dissipated for long, so the other party shouldn't have gone far.

Sure enough, after passing through a grove of dead trees, they could faintly hear voices talking ahead.

Sunlight quietly concealed himself, and several mages dressed in black cloaks were seen huddled together, holding record boards and whispering among themselves.

"The plague in Grese has been suppressed? That healing mage named Sunburst is really troublesome."

"What's there to be afraid of? We've already collected enough data from the experiment. The next target can proceed as planned."

"The master said that as long as the lives of these towns are sacrificed to Lord Black Mage Zeref through the plague, the ritual will be successful."

Riyao emerged from the shadows, grinning, and said, "You don't mind if I join the group chat, do you? Hehehe."

Without giving the opponent a chance to react, he rushed forward and punched the nearest black-robed mage in the abdomen, instantly dissipating the magic he had just prepared.

His body arched like a shrimp, his black robe trembled violently, and he staggered uncontrollably backward, crashing into his accomplice. He immediately vomited a mouthful of blood, and the two of them were completely powerless to resist.

Catch the last one, pin him to the ground, and begin the Sunburst interrogation, beating him while simultaneously treating him, questioning him as you beat him.

"Name? Gender?"

"Where do you live? What kind of influence do you have?"

How old are you this year? Do you have a boyfriend/girlfriend?

A jumble of questions accompanied the pounding of fists. The henchman was in pain, but also felt a sense of relief, like after treatment. His head was buzzing, and he cried out in despair, "I was wrong, stop hitting me, stop treating me, I'll tell you everything!"

They quickly learned from him that they came from the "Blacklight Guild," another unknown small guild, and were probably the work of the "Magic Development Bureau," the predecessor of the Oración Seis.

Riyao tied them all up, sent a signal indicating that the council should come and take them over. Then, he headed towards the enemy's hidden stronghold.
