The Birthday Of a Special Stranger

"It's all that pretentious slut's fault! I will never forgive her for what she did. I swear that if he's not mine then he'll never be hers". Anna said with a furious tone as she pushed Sophie away.

"Ouch ! Anna you've clearly lost it this time!" Sophie yelled.

Anna suddenly wiped her tears, thought for a moment then smirked.

"Tomorrow is my birthday party and everyone is going to be there for sure. I must take good care of my guests and especially the lovebirds that I cherish the most". She said with a fake smile.

Anna reached for her friend's long hair and brushed it slowly with her fingers.

"But first, I'm going to need a favour from you Sophie".

"Of course you silly! Ask for anything you want. I've always got your back, even when you were in deep shit and this will never change. Now clean yourself then tell me the kind of favour you need from me, you smell like beer".

Sophie replied while pushing Anna into the shower.

After half an hour, Anna's mother joined the girls in Anna's room.

"Anna you're finally awake! I did the right thing by calling you Sophie!" Anna's mom said.

"Wait so it was you who asked Sophie to come over? why would you do that?" Anna asked.

Sophie was going to talk before she got interrupted by Anna's mother.

"Of course it was me! you refused to get out of your room and you smelled like a dead skunk! What if we receive a sudden visit from John! I planned so hard for this engagement and I won't let you ruin it by any means!"

Anna sighed then approached her mother's

"Mom! wake up! First, John will never visit us and you know this. Second, I only agreed on this stupid engagement to satisfy you so you should at least be thankful instead of yelling at me! And third..".

Before she could finish her speech, the mother slapped her daughter's face hardly.

"Aunt please! " Sophie said as she rushed towards them.

"Don't interfere Sophie! How dare she talk to me with such a tone! This uneducated child!" Anna's mother yelled angrily as she turned around to leave the room.

"Sophie look at my face! did the slap leave a mark!" Anna said as she removed her hair.

"Aunt's reaction was so exaggerated! Why would she hit you so hard! Oh my god are you in pain? Wait I'll go to the kitchen to get some ice. We must put it on your cheek before it gets swollen". Sophie talked as she checked her friend's face.

"It's not a big deal, I got used to her harsh attitude by now. Just hurry up and take care of my pretty face, I'm gonna need it tomorrow".
