Chapter 2694 Still Vigorous in Old Age 78.0
"Awake?" Seeing Shen Cha struggling to get up, Jin Miaomiao quickly pressed her down. "Don't rush, take it easy first."

She reached out to Merlin, who dipped the prepared swab into a glass of water and carefully applied it to Shen Cha's chapped lips.

"Do you know that during the days you were unconscious, the Duke stayed by your side without sleep or rest, and didn't even leave the room?"

Jin Miaomiao sighed, saw Shen Cha's eyes searching around, smiled, and together with Mei Lin helped her up, placing a thick pillow behind her back.

"Stop looking. We just chased him away to wash up. He's been neglecting his appearance these past few days, not washing up or shaving. He doesn't look like the Duke used to be at all."

“Exactly, exactly,” Merlin chimed in, “If Miaomiao hadn’t said that, you probably would have woken up soon. And when you woke up and saw him like that, you would have been disgusted with him, and he still wouldn’t have gone!”

"How could I possibly dislike it?" Shen Cha took two small sips of the warm water Jin Miaomiao fed her, looked at Mei Lin, then at Jin Miaomiao, and said, "You've all worked hard these past few days. I must have scared you when I suddenly collapsed."

"We were frightened, but it's not that serious. We knew you would get sick, but we didn't expect you to collapse while eating." Jin Miaomiao nudged Meilin. "Go to the side room and tell your master that Xiaocha has woken up and ask him to come over and take your pulse."

Merlin responded and turned to leave, only to bump into Shen Haolin, who had just returned from washing up, at the door.

"My lord, come in quickly and see, our eldest son has woken up!"

Upon hearing Merlin's words, Shen Haolin was overjoyed and rushed into the room. He saw the person who had been unconscious leaning against the headboard, giving him a faint smile.

"Cha'er!" He wanted to rush over and hug Shen Cha, but he stopped. He warmed himself by the stove before getting close to Shen Cha, taking her hand, and asking, "How are you feeling now? Is there anything that's bothering you?"

"Aside from being a little weak, everything else is fine." Shen Cha reached out and touched Shen Haolin's face. "Brother looks so haggard."

Jin Miaomiao glanced at the two people, then stood up and gave her seat to Shen Haolin.

"You two chat for a bit, I'll go check on my martial uncle."

"Miaomiao, you've worked hard!"

"Don't be so polite!"

Jin Miaomiao left the house and closed the door, and unsurprisingly saw Meilin leaning against the side.

The two exchanged a smile, everything understood without a word.

Seeing that the door was closed, Shen Haolin went over and hugged Shen Cha, letting out a long sigh of relief.

"I've made my brother worry."

“I knew you would get sick, but I didn’t expect it to happen so suddenly, and I didn’t expect you to be unconscious for so long.” Shen Haolin kissed Shen Cha’s forehead, pulled her into his arms, and said, “Uncle and Miao Miao both said that once you get through this, your health will improve and you won’t be sick anymore. I know what they said is true, but I always feel anxious if you don’t wake up.”

“Miao Miao just said that too.” Shen Cha closed her eyes slightly and held Shen Haolin’s hand. “Brother, don’t worry. Master already said that I would have a serious illness when I turned eighteen. Once I recovered, everything would go smoothly. Master never makes empty promises. Hasn’t this already come true?”

Shen Haolin didn't say anything, but just held her tightly, as if afraid she would suddenly disappear.

The two embraced quietly for some time before a knock came at the door. "Looks like Miaomiao's been waiting anxiously," Shen Cha smiled at Shen Haolin, gently pushing him away. "Miaomiao said she wants Uncle to take her pulse; brother, please take a look at me."

"It looks pretty good!"

Shen Haolin tidied her up and draped a thick coat over her before standing up and opening the door.

Seeing that only Jin Miaomiao and Mei Lin were standing at the door, he raised an eyebrow and said, "Weren't you going to invite Uncle Shi? Where is he?"

"We weren't waiting for you two to finish talking before going to invite you. If we had gone to invite you now and bumped into something we shouldn't have seen, that wouldn't have been good, would it?" Jin Miaomiao grinned mischievously and nudged Merlin. "Go on!"

Merlin responded and happily ran to the side room where Third Master was staying.

The Third Grandfather was playing chess by himself in the room when he heard that Shen Cha had woken up. He quickly grabbed his small medicine box and rushed out of the room.

Merlin followed behind him, constantly telling him to slow down and watch his step, and couldn't help but mutter to himself, "This old man is really something, his legs are incredibly agile."

When they arrived at the door of Shen Cha's house, they saw Shen Haolin and Jin Miaomiao. The Third Grandfather looked at them and then looked into the house.

"Awake?" Seeing the two nod, he lowered his voice and said, "Then you two..."

"We've been waiting for you!" Shen Haolin smiled. "Cha'er asked me to pick you up. Please come in!"

Third Grandfather nodded and followed Shen Haolin into the room. After passing the screen at the door, he saw Shen Cha leaning against the headboard, her face still pale, but she was now fully awake.

"Uncle, I hope you are well. You've had a hard time these past few days!"

"No need to be polite when we're all on the same side!"

Third Master sat on the small stool that Meilin had moved to the bedside, took out a pulse pillow from his medicine box and placed it by the bed, gesturing for Shen Cha to reach out.

Shen Cha obediently placed her wrist on the pulse pillow and quietly watched Third Master's expression.

The Third Grandfather placed three fingers on Shen Cha's wrist, felt it, and then gestured for her to switch to the other hand.

"How is she?" After the Third Grandfather finished taking her pulse, Shen Haolin leaned closer and asked cautiously, "Cha'er, she..."

"Aside from being a little weak due to the high fever, there are no other problems." Third Grandfather looked at Shen Cha with a smile. "Congratulations, Xiao Cha, you've made it through! Your old injuries will still flare up occasionally, but not as frequently or as severely."

"Really? That's wonderful!"

Shen Cha was overjoyed by her third grandfather's conclusion. She truly didn't want everyone to worry about her health and whether her old ailments would be triggered every time she led troops. Now that these concerns no longer affected her, she was overjoyed.

"Don't be too happy yet. Even so, your body is still a bit weaker than a normal person's." Third Grandfather looked at Shen Cha, then at Shen Haolin, and then at Jin Miaomiao. "You still need to take the medicine you're supposed to take, and you still need to take supplements when you need to, and you still need to rest properly when you need to, understand? Don't let your guard down just because of one sentence, okay?"
