Unusual Fate Records

Chapter 10.010. The Finale

Chapter 10.010. The Finale

Fujiwara Chizuru frowned.

"Really? That's great." Jin Ziyue said this, but looked at Fujiwara with a hesitant expression.

"How did you know it was your brother calling?" Fujiwara asked.

The stranger's question startled Asuka.

“I won’t mistake my brother’s voice! Besides, before you, only my brother knew my phone number,” the girl said confidently.

Seemingly sensing the unusual atmosphere, Asuka Ryuu became somewhat uneasy and cautiously asked, "Is there a problem?"

Jin Ziyue quickly smoothed things over: "This is Officer Fujiwara, who has come to ask us for some information."

"Ah, good morning, officer." Asuka bowed.

What did your brother say?

"He said he's currently working at a cold storage facility, and room and board are provided, so I don't need to worry about him." The girl's face beamed with joy.

Looking at the girl's pure smile, Jin Ziyue smiled back, his eyes narrowing into slits.

"Cold storage?" Fujiwara Chizuru rubbed her chin with her right hand.

"Yes, it's a meat and poultry processing plant nearby. I plan to visit him after get off work tonight."

Upon hearing the good news, the little girl regained her spirits, clutched her hands to her heart, and murmured, "I thought I would never see my brother again."

“Don’t go, Miss Ito,” Fujiwara Chizuru suddenly said.

"Why? And I'm not Ito! Ito is my good friend!" Asuka Rui said, somewhat dissatisfied.

This time, it was the policewoman who was a little confused.

“I am Asuka! Asuka Ryuu!” the girl emphasized.

"Seniors, are you hiding something from me?" Asuka seemed to sense something.

"Here's the thing, the police officer found that Brother Feibiao seems to have travel records to other cities, so she thinks there's something fishy about this," Jin Ziyue said.

Fujiwara Chizuru stared at Jin Ziyue, somewhat stunned.

"How could this be?" Asuka's expression turned serious again.

Fujiwara quickly regained his composure: "That's right, we found that he has a check-in record in a neighboring city, so he shouldn't be here."

Asuka frowned: "Brother wouldn't lie to me, I must see it with my own eyes."

After saying that, she grabbed the menu and ran away.

“Why is this little girl so stubborn?” Fujiwara’s face was grave. He slammed his elbow on the table, then slumped down, his voice filled with melancholy. “Her brother is gone forever. Oh dear.”

The policewoman accidentally burped.

"Officer, can you tell me what exactly happened?" Jin Ziyue asked with a worried expression.

"Knowing this kind of thing won't do you any good." Seemingly under the influence of alcohol, Fujiwara Chizuru rested her head on her hand, rubbing her temples with her thumb and middle finger, her face hidden by her palm.

"But Asuka is a good girl, and I don't want her to be deceived."

"That's enough. Leave the rest to me. By the way, thank you for speaking up for me earlier. You're a really nice person." Fujiwara Chizuru stood up, leaning on the table, her expression somewhat dazed.

Her pretty face looked somewhat dejected, and her hair fell down her sides from her ears.

"Here's my business card. Come to the police station and have a drink with me sometime."

Fujiwara tossed out his business card, then pouted and blew on his hair, reeking of alcohol.

"That won't be necessary," Jin Ziyue said, somewhat embarrassed.

The woman let out a high-pitched, thin hiccup, her voice as soft as a squirrel's whisper. She swayed and staggered as she leisurely walked out of the Fu Yuan Restaurant.

Huh? That's strange, what am I doing here?

Fujiwara Chizuru patted her head, and with the feeling of lightness, she stopped thinking about it, took off her uncomfortable high heels, and walked barefoot on the street.

Jin Ziyue watched her leave, his gaze lingering on her as he stroked the black umbrella hanging by the door. It was a long time before he finally turned and left.

A person who has lost their fighting spirit is no longer a threat.

"Feiniao, what's wrong! Someone, get him to the hospital quickly!"

Inside the hall, the bird suddenly fainted, causing a commotion.

……

The old light bulb flickered with a crackling sound.

Blood stained the red glass blocking the sunlight.

In a dark and cramped corner, the man lay back on the sofa, surrounded by silent, upright black shadows.

"Lord Araki, the message has been sent out." The hunched-over man's voice was somewhat rough, and he didn't dare to breathe loudly in front of the man who was feigning sleep.

"Hmm, what did your sister say?" The man shifted his position, the Neo demon on his arm twitching, its predatory eyes darting around with the movement of his muscles.

"She said she wanted to come and visit me tonight," Asuka Eisuke said, his voice slightly slurred.

"Alright, that's all for you." Araki waved his hand, signaling him to leave.

"The bait has been cast." Araki lit the cigar between his fingers, the dazzling gold and silver rings gleaming with starlight.

A puff of thick smoke billowed out: "We're just waiting for the fish to take the bait."

"Will that demon hunter really come?" The large, thick-lipped man next to him leaned back, his eyes bloodshot.

Are you questioning Naoki?

“No…” The man’s jaw muscles tightened, and his hands clenched into fists. “Big brother, I want to avenge Hattori.”

"Don't rush, we'll settle our score with this demon hunter one by one." A man in the corner, tossing a knife around, had a straw hat covering his face, and a ruthless smile on his lips.

“Go back and keep a close eye on the hostages. The experiment is in its final stage. We’ve lost a lot of brothers for this. Don’t let them die with regrets.”

"Yes."

"Get the brothers all geared up. We'll finish this bastard off tonight." Araki stood up abruptly, like a towering demon statue.

In the dimly lit room, seven pairs of eyes flashed with a bloodthirsty light.

……

A sliver of sunlight filtered through the light brown glass window, making Asuka Eisuke feel a little uneasy.

For the first time, I realized that the sunlight, which I usually ignore, could easily take my life.

But thinking about it, darkness isn't so bad, at least for now, it doesn't bother me at all; on the contrary, under the sun, one is like a stray dog.

The ashtray was piled high with extinguished cigarette butts, and several bodies were stacked on the dilapidated sofa, their bare muscles covered with dragon and tiger stripes.

"Newbie, can't sleep?" The dual-gunner lay in the hammock, his eyes half-open, one foot dangling down with a slipper on it.

"Damn, this power feels amazing." Asuka Eisuke looked at his palms, his skin turning blue and purple, and felt an inexhaustible strength throughout his body.

"Right?" the dual-gunner chuckled. "Let me tell you, he's even more formidable in bed."

"Then who do I have to be afraid of?" Eisuke Asuka immediately became excited.

"Newbie, stop calling me 'I,' you've been a pimp before, haven't you? You're in the underworld, so watch your step," said the gunman, still grinning, his voice rough. "I heard your sister's pretty?"

"Not bad quality." Asuka Eisuke, still immersed in his excitement, his joints occasionally cracking, glanced at the item and asked:

"You like it?"

"Haha, just one question." The dual-gunner rolled over, his back to the ceiling, and lay on the hammock. "She's precious right now, a key subject in the experiment. What business is it of mine?"

Eisuke Asuka grinned:

"Name your price."

"give you."

My backlog of manuscripts is piling up. I was supposed to be ahead of the rest of the book by a whole volume, but... oh no, this won't do! If you find me out of my little black room, please bring me back!
