Chapter 45, Section 017: The Commission

"Crack!"

Ichiro Amamiya ordered a halt to filming.

This is a fight scene where the stuntman has to take real hits and be thrown around by the monster's immense force. Although there are protective measures in place, he still has to withstand the necessary impact.

Jin Ziyue choked and struggled to get up from the ground.

"Good physical condition."

"Ichiro Amamiya said."

After a fierce fight, Jin Ziyue was a little out of breath. He smiled and said, "Thank you for the compliment, director."

Since that day, Jin Ziyue has been promoted from a temporary extra to a stunt double, and can act as a suit actor when necessary, because his well-proportioned figure basically meets the size requirements of most suits.

In the suburbs, as the sun sets and the trees are bathed in sunlight, the air is less damp.

"Everyone, pack up and call it a day."

The car was quiet on the way home.

Amamiya Ichiro deliberately rode in the same car as Jin Ziyue: "Jin-kun, can you drive for me?"

"it is good."

As the city's evening rush hour approaches, the crimson sky still retains lingering clouds, and neon lights gradually illuminate the night.

Jin Ziyue drives very steadily, both when starting and stopping.

Amamiya Ichiro stared blankly out the windshield, his thoughts undistracted by the constant stops and starts in the congested traffic.

"Mr. Jin, I have a favor to ask."

he said suddenly.

"Please speak," Jin Ziyue said, glancing sideways.

"Have you met Xiaohui before?"

The man stared at the constantly changing road surface, the headlights of the car in front of him flashing, his eyes lowered.

"Ah."

"Xiao Hui is a child who is easy to take care of. Because she is well-behaved and sensible, I don't have to spend a lot of energy on her."

"By the time I realized it and wanted to make amends, it was too late."

A headlight flashed across the windshield, illuminating the man's dejected face in the dim light.

Jin Ziyue smiled reassuringly: "Xiao Hui is very sensible and lovely. She must understand your predicament."

"Jin Jun".

"If something were to happen to me, could I entrust Xiaohui to you?"

"what?!"

Jin Ziyue's hand trembled for a moment, but he quickly gripped the steering wheel again.

"Try to be optimistic, there's no need to say such discouraging things."

"I know this request is somewhat impolite, but please forgive me, there is really no one else I can entrust with this."

Jin Ziyue's Adam's apple bobbed, and he stammered, "Isn't it a bit premature for you to say these things now..."

"Don't try to joke with me, Mr. Jin, I'm serious."

The man's eyes were fixed on Jin Ziyue.

The young man in the driver's seat also became serious, his lips pressed tightly together.

“I know you’re not that kind of person.” Ichiro Amamiya reached out and placed his hand on Jin Ziyue’s knee.

The man's eyes gleamed in the orange car headlights.

"Please, Mr. Jin!" The man lowered his head, his slicked-back hair slightly disheveled. When Jin Ziyue turned his head, he could see the white hairs at his temples and the shallow wrinkles on his forehead.

"Please... raise Xiaohui to adulthood for me. This is my last request as an unfit father..."

The man's voice was tinged with sorrow.

Jin Ziyue drove silently, slowly making his way out of the congested area.

"I'm so sorry, Mr. Amamiya." His voice was less timid, but he still kept his eyes level with the car in front of him.

"I cannot accept your request."

"Natural and man-made disasters can strike at any time."

"Who knows, I might fall before you."

Amamiya Ichiro stared blankly at Jin Ziyue, his expression like a withered carnation, his dim eyes losing their luster.

"That's all, that's all..."

The man slumped in his seat, looking as if he had aged ten years, with strands of hair falling from his forehead, obscuring his expression.

"I'm just a down-on-his-luck international student. I don't dare to overestimate my abilities and take responsibility for Xiaohui's life."

"But I think, if, if you really encounter some misfortune... I will do everything I can to help Xiaohui find a good family."

Ichiro Amamiya's gaze shifted, flickering slightly.

"Jin Jun".

"I am extremely grateful."

“I’m just afraid that after I die, no one will remember Xiaohui. Thank you for taking in the heartfelt words of a father who has nowhere else to turn.”

The man gave a bleak smile.

Jin Ziyue said, "Director, don't think about such discouraging things. It's not too late to start caring about Xiaohui when we get back tonight."

"maybe."

Amamiya Ichiro leaned his head back, gazing absently out the window.

"arrive."

Jin Ziyue added that the car slowly drove into the underground parking garage.

The dimly lit corridor was suddenly illuminated by car headlights, like a beam of light that charged forward relentlessly.

Amamiya Ichiro remained calm and waited for Jin Ziyue to park the car and turn off the engine before they walked up to the elevator together.

"I'll go find the president. Could you help the logistics team move back the props we're using today?"

Jin Ziyue nodded: "Okay."

After saying that, the elevator indicator popped up to the first floor. He gripped his baseball cap, bowed deeply, and then walked out.

Ichiro Amamiya quietly watched him leave.

Eighteenth floor.

A man sat upright on the black leather sofa in the office.

"You're back." The man tapped the last bit of ash from his cigarette.

Not the president.

It was his bodyguard, Yuichi Kamikawa.

The swivel chair behind the desk slowly turned around, and a bald woman crossed her legs.

Her skin was dark, but with an unhealthy pallor; her purple lips trembled.

"Long time no see, Mr. Amamiya."

The woman's eyes were hidden behind sunglasses, concealing a deep sense of weakness.

Amamiya Ichiro's heart skipped a beat, his Adam's apple bobbing slightly: "Renzan-do... the one who creates monsters..."

A slight smile curved Zuo Qianzi's lips as she said, "Yes. I've come to retrieve my work."

She raised her hand, the back of which was aligned perfectly with the man's head.

"Wait! The Yin Relic is on me!" Ichiro Amamiya shouted.

Zuo Qianzi's eyelids were heavy, and he didn't even lift them. He took out a purple amber-shaped object from his pocket and waved it in his hand: "Is this what you mean?"

Amamiya Ichiro stood there, stunned, and took out an identical object from his pocket.

After a long silence, he managed a weak laugh: "I see. These monsters weren't out of control at all."

Zuo Qianzi was emaciated, as if she were slumped in a chair, like a patient who had been ill for a long time. Her lips were purplish-blue, and her face was completely bloodless.

He continued to mutter to himself, "This is my last bargaining chip. I've kept it safe for so many years. Thank you for your hard work."

"You can't use those monsters! They're basically living mummies, and they could resurrect the monsters from back then at any time!"

Amamiya Ichiro raised his arm and roared angrily.

"A legendary old monster who has lived for hundreds of years?" Zuo Qianzi laughed dismissively. "Whatever."

Just as Ichiro Amamiya was about to step forward, Yuichi Kamikawa, who had been silent to the side, suddenly drew his sword, the gleaming silver tip flashing wildly.

Zuo Qianzi supported herself on the handrails and struggled to stand up. Her face was flushed with an unhealthy rosy hue. She twitched her facial muscles, and her sickly smile resembled a bewitching datura flower. She coughed lightly.

"He's right here, yet he seems to be somewhere else; he's like a ghost."

Amamiya Ichiro frowned; this woman's mental state was very unstable.

Zuo Qianzi ignored him and took the dagger off her thigh. She pressed her tongue against the blade, the cool touch and the bitter taste of the protective oil mingling in her mouth.

"I can't wait to taste your blood..."
