Chapter 54, Section 026: Liberation

"Then you—"

"Who will save us?!"

The girl cried out, and then, unable to control herself any longer, she burst into loud sobs, tears streaming down her face.

A clear female voice echoed throughout the entire floor, like a mournful melody from a broken music box.

The man behind him disappeared.

The branches that had been binding them were gone.

Megumi Amamiya collapsed to her knees, sobbing softly. She looked up and found that the surrounding scenery had returned to normal, and Ichiro Amamiya was no longer behind her.

"Is it an illusion...?"

She looked up, and through her teary eyes, she saw the Wood Demon's face contorted in pain, his teeth clenched.

"Yingzi!" The girl staggered to her feet, reaching out to rub the other's face. "Wake up!"

Blood-stained fingers gripped the rough skin of the Wood Demon's face.

Undeterred, Amamiya Megumi pushed the dazed Wood Demon to the ground, his head hitting the floor with a dull thud.

Amber light emanated from Megumi Amamiya's fingers, which, along with the blood, were smeared onto the face of the Wood Demon.

When touched, the Wood Demon convulsed and trembled as if it had been electrocuted.

Smoke began to rise from the cracks in its body, its arms trembled like leaves, and its mouth gaped wide. Before long, the bark began to crack, and the brown outer layer peeled away, revealing patches of fleshy, bloody flesh.

"Yingzi! Yingzi!" Amamiya Megumi looked anxiously at the little mound that had fallen to the ground, her clear yellow eyes blinking, sometimes closing tightly.

The little girl found the Wood Demon's hand and held it tightly. Seeing that Yingzi's complexion had improved, she quickly shouted, "Yingzi, keep going!"

"Ah—" The bark on the Wood Demon's body fell off like rain, and the crackling bark fell to the ground, as it struggled even more violently.

The two short legs began to kick wildly, but to Megumi Amamiya, they posed no threat whatsoever; the true illusion had no effect whatsoever.

She slowly leaned forward.

Yingzi, are you protecting me?

The little girl wiped away her tears, and the amber-colored weapon in her hand shone brighter. Mixed with blood, Megumi Amamiya vaguely felt a sense of control, connecting her to the suit. It seemed that the suit could sense her commands, resisting some kind of will, and gradually peeling away.

She pressed her left hand against the back of her right hand, hoping to emit more light; her earnest little face and brave eyes showed no sign of giving up.

As the Wood Demon screamed, the leather sheath burst open layer by layer, and the innermost layer of bark rolled back to reveal a little girl who was suffocating and her whole body was red.

With a snap, the mask on her head cracked in the middle, revealing a girl with black hair and a white face. Before she could recover, her eyes rolled back and she fainted.

"Eiko, Eiko!" Amamiya Megumi cried with joy and rushed forward to check on her.

She was still breathing, and her little face was flushed from being stuffy.

"That's wonderful." The girl's eyes welled up with tears.

"Let's leave the talk of life and death here."

A woman's voice suddenly rang out.

Amamiya Megumi looked up abruptly and saw a woman leaning against the wall, walking down the stairs step by step. Her body was hunched over, and she was so weak that it seemed as if she was walking on cotton and might collapse at any moment.

Upon closer inspection, the little girl was so frightened that her two long braids stood up straight.

The woman wore black high-top military boots, camouflage pants with a black vest over them, and a brown bulletproof vest.

Further up, sunglasses covered his eyes, and there wasn't a single tuft of hair on his forehead. His face was deathly pale. His lips were purplish-white, and even the bright red lipstick couldn't hide his weak complexion; he looked like he could collapse at any moment.

"Who are you!"

Megumi Amamiya stared at her warily.

“A dying man.” Her voice was weak as she spoke, her eyes lowered.

"I understand, you're a bad person!"

The little girl pointed her index finger at her, looking wary.

Zuo Qianzi's eyes remained expressionless, and he didn't bother to pay attention to the girl's shouts.

She drew a knife from the scabbard beside her trousers, raised her hand to cut her own finger, and squinted.

The dripping blood emitted a thick, black mist.

The swirling black mist lingered on the floors, wisps and strands stretching endlessly, like swarms of black mosquitoes, sweeping and spreading to every corner.

Amamiya Megumi shrank back in fright.

"wack……"

Upon hearing this, Zuo Qianzi's purple lips slowly cracked.

“What a familiar way to address her.” She looked at the little girl, her back teeth chattering. “Hearing this before I died brought back a little nostalgia.”

Her knife hovered in front of the girl's eyes.

"How about I give you a gift? Where would you like an opening made?"

Even through the sunglasses, you could see the woman's wide-open eyes; her eye sockets were deep-set and dark, making her look sickly.

"Do not touch me!"

Amamiya Megumi said defiantly, but she couldn't help feeling uneasy. She wanted to be even fiercer, but tears involuntarily welled up in the corners of her eyes.

"Forget it, let's treat this as an appetizer until we find him."

Zuo Qianzi's purplish-red lips split open again as he bared his teeth, revealing his canines. Grayish-brown skin appeared on his body, and sharp bone claws emerged from the fingertips of his knife-wielding fingers.

The woman raised her eyebrows, leaned closer to the little girl who was frozen in fear, and sniffed her face.

Amamiya Megumi didn't dare to breathe, trembling as tears streamed down her face. She gritted her teeth, trying to muster some strength, but still couldn't muster the will to resist.

"You're in the way."

The woman's tone was kind.

A chill ran down the girl's spine as she looked up to see the strange woman holding a dagger high in the air.

In that instant, the little girl couldn't even scream, watching the dagger magnify in her pupils.

In an instant, a punch came flying.

Zuo Qianzi raised his head and bent his waist to dodge the punch, and as he recovered, he swung his knife in a counterattack.

The newcomer stepped back, squatted down, and picked up the two girls from either side. He then stepped back a few more times.

Amamiya Megumi was able to see the whole picture.

It was a suit of mithril armor that concealed his face. As he moved, the layers of armor swayed slightly, their metallic silver gleaming.

The shoulder armor features external protective gear on both arms, a chest armor inlaid with a metal energy core, and black and silver interwoven knee and leg guards. The entire garment is predominantly black with dark gold and mithril accents, and gold thread patterns add distinct layers to the overall design.

Megumi Amamiya was very familiar with this armor. The hero's armor she had longed for had suddenly made her momentarily lost in thought when it appeared before her.

She stared at the helmet, as if trying to see the person's face through it.

The person in the armor placed her on the ground, had no time to speak, and stepped forward with a punch.

Zuo Qianzi's eyes flashed with an unusual light, his expression fierce: "Found you."

As soon as she finished speaking, she staggered to avoid the incoming punch and raised the purple amber in her hand.

Dark lightning burst forth from Zuo Qianzi's hand, lashing wildly like a whip.

Megumi Amamiya saw that the Mithril Warrior had to step back several feet and raise his arm to block the lightning, which was as violent as a python.

Lightning struck an automatic glass door, shattering the glass, penetrating the floor, and leaving deep scratches on the office walls.

The girl held the unconscious Yingzi and huddled to one side.

The silver figure dodged and weaved through the raging lightning, twisting its waist and sideways to avoid the dark lightning bolts time and time again.

Suddenly, windows shattered from the outside, the shattering glass flying like snowflakes, blown into the office by the hurricane, pushing aside cabinets and desks, overturning office supplies, and sending papers tumbling through the air. The night wind rushed in through the French windows, bringing a chill.

"Roar!"

The monster strode in through the darkness, its enormous wings spread wide, its scarlet eyes staring into the room, its goat horns resembling those of a demon crawling out of hell.

Received 500! So many feelings, let's go!
