Chapter 65, Section 003: Drowning

"The senior from the mountain school?"

The dragon horse's voice was somewhat timid, so it didn't sound very loud.

The woman ignored his words and walked straight past the trees towards the artificial lake in the park.

The young man recalled her expression, and a sense of foreboding suddenly popped into his mind.

"Senior!" he shouted, and took off after her.

Once he ran out of the bushes, the view that had been hidden by the trees suddenly opened up, and Donglongma saw the woman standing on the high brick railing.

"Senior, no!"

The dragon horse was terrified and reached out its hand to rush over.

Rika Yamanaka slowly slumped down, her ponytail swaying in the air. The young man's shout made her turn around, her body showing signs of turning.

The dragon horse and her eyes met.

In that instant, the young man felt a chill in his heart. The other person's eyes were completely still, as calm as a stagnant pool.

He felt a pang of fear; that indifferent gaze, like ice frozen for a long time, was nothing like the enthusiastic female host on television.

"Pfft."

In a moment of distraction, the woman fell into the water, splashing up large white sprays of foam.

"Senior!" Without thinking twice, Longma jumped over the fence and leaped into the water.

You Donglongma forgot whether it was day or night. The moment he entered the water, the icy lake water covered his head, and he realized that he couldn't swim at all.

Wasting his energy recklessly, the young man shouted in fear in the water, but no sound came out, and he choked on his own water several more times.

He gestured with his hands as if trying to grab something, water flowing through his fingers, the salty artificial lake water stinging his eyes until they turned red.

Twisting her waist and back, she had no support; spreading her legs, she kept sinking; she could see dappled light and shadow on the water's surface by looking up, but she couldn't struggle to touch them.

The dragon-horse struggled in the water, trying to turn its head to break through the surface, but because its body was sore and weak, it fell back into the water.

Help……

His eyes became increasingly sore from the lake water.

In his dazed state, the young man saw long, flowing hair beside him.

He struggled to open his eyes; the woman was sinking upside down in the lake.

I've struggled with this feeling for so long, and I'm sinking at about the same rate as my senior...

In his final moments, Donglongma could only laugh self-deprecatingly, but his face contorted and veins bulging due to lack of oxygen.

He gazed at the image of the senior student in the mountains. All his vision in the water seemed to be covered by a layer of flowing fluid. In his hazy state, he saw Rika Yamanaka slowly floating out of the water like a white ribbon.

Not just one, but a whole sheet.

Eh? !

You Donglongma immediately sensed something was amiss.

The woman in front of me had her skin slowly melting away, loosening into bandages wrapped around her entire body.

The scene before him overturned his understanding.

In the deep blue liquid, the tender light resembled tiny silver fish, its delicate dappled shadows falling upon the woman's fair face.

Her ponytail came undone, her long hair floated in the water, and the woman's face had completely changed.

Her profile was gracefully curved, her cherry lips adorned her delicate chin, and above her nose, tightly wrapped bandages covered her eyes, obscuring her expression. Strands of long hair flowed freely, leaving the young man utterly stunned.

The woman quickly shed her clothes, revealing herself as smooth and slippery as a pure and flawless mermaid.

Ryoma blushed with embarrassment and struggled to turn his head away, only to find that his breathing was becoming more and more rapid. He was eager to breathe in more fresh air, but it was as if his neck was being choked, and his nostrils twitched, but he could not breathe at all.

The shrinking lungs and diaphragm began to tremble meaninglessly, a desperate physiological struggle in the face of death.

His eyes were bloodshot, and he clutched at his neck, but to no avail.

"Ho-"

The last bubbles, scattered like stars, slowly floated up in front of the dragon horse.

He slowly gave up struggling.

When a person dies, they can't remember anything... their brain is a complete blank, and they've even forgotten how to "think".

The man closed his eyes and opened his hands.

Suddenly, the sinking body stopped, and as the limbs dangled, the body floated upwards.

The woman with bandages wrapped around her eyes supported his waist with one hand and pushed aside the water above with the other. Her smooth legs swayed gracefully, as if swimming at the bottom of the lake was effortless for her.

A moment later, the woman emerged from the water.

He was carrying a lifeless, yet still moving dragon-horse in his hand.

The night was quiet, and the lights inside the park were dim.

"Is the picture ready?"

The woman, blindfolded, asked questions in the direction of the shore, her voice clear and melodious.

"It's done filming," came the reply from a person walking up from the shore, holding a video camera.

"We'll hand it over to the post-production team later, and announce that 'Rika Yamanaka' has committed suicide after it has been circulating for a while."

Her voice was almost monotone, yet she delivered instructions methodically.

"Okay." Under the lamplight, the man holding the camera closed it and handed over his coat.

The woman took the coat and put it on, fastening the long trench coat to reveal her smooth, long legs. As she walked, water droplets slid down her calves and dripped onto the ground.

"What's going on with this guy?"

The man looked at the soaking wet young man on the ground and asked, "Should we silence him if he finds out?"

The woman's ears twitched, and she tilted her head to listen. She said, "His heart has stopped beating."

She walked up to the young man and squatted down.

Are there any other witnesses nearby?

The man stated firmly, "No, the camera only captured him as an eyewitness."

“What we need is a living person who can corroborate this.” The woman turned around, and although her face was wrapped in bandages, you could almost feel her cold, stern gaze.

"I understand, Arrogance. Let's find another passerby."

The woman was silent for a moment, then said, "Let's deal with this hothead first."

"I don't eat human flesh," the man said in a deep voice.

On his arrogant, pale face, the corners of his mouth were slightly parted, revealing sharp canine teeth.

"You wouldn't..." The man frowned.

"The dead are people who have severed all social ties, aren't they?" The woman squatted down, reached her right hand under the neck, and helped the moving dragon horse up. Its body was cold, and where it had been lying, there was a patch of water.

"That's true, but this person's background is questionable." The man remained wary.

“Jealousy, this person can be trusted,” the woman said, as if she had thought of something.

"it is good."

The man named Jealousy had no objection.

"Then leave it to me to transform it." Arrogantly, he leaned down and reached for the neck of the dragon horse, its long, wet hair falling down, a faint fragrance lingering around it.

The young man's face was somewhat delicate, with a distinct jawline around his neck and Adam's apple. The shallow blue veins showed signs of bruising.

She opened her mouth, and her cherry-red lips touched the young man's neck.

When the woman looked up and stood up, besides the lake water and saliva, there were two bloody holes from which fresh blood flowed.

Arrogance slowly rose to her feet, and jealousy could be seen in her slightly furrowed brows.

"What's wrong?" The man's words were flat, even his question had a casual tone.

Arrogance wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth and said, "It's nothing. This person's blood... is very strange."
