"Hello, Officer Fujiwara, right? I'm Araki from the Renzan-do. May I ask for someone from your office?" The man's rough voice left no room for compromise.

"After all, Ranshan Hall is just a civilian organization. Isn't it against the rules to openly ask the authorities for people?" Fujiwara Chizuru's tone remained unchanged.

"Heh, I'm just being polite. You actually took it seriously, little girl?" Araki grinned. "You're the new section chief? Didn't your dad, who helped you up here, tell you the real rules of survival in this world?"

"What do you mean?" Fujiwara Chizuru frowned.

“Little girl, don’t be willful. At least think about your father who holds a high position. If you offend the Otherworld—” Araki’s eyebrows were raised high, and his right eye widened wildly, “your whole family will be buried with you.”

Tanaka anxiously pulled Fujiwara Chizuru forward and smiled apologetically at Araki: "I'm sorry, sir, our section chief has just taken office and there are some things she doesn't know yet. Whoever you're looking for is at the police station, I'll drive them to you."

Fei Niao stared blankly at Jin Ziyue.

"Did I say something wrong?" Jin Ziyue asked, looking bewildered.

"No." Asuka quickly turned her head, and as she lowered her head, she said timidly in a soft voice, "Thank you, senior. I feel much better."

"Didn't Liuyi say that no matter what, we should treat this world with kindness? Otherwise, how can life reward us with surprises?"

It took Jin Ziyue a long time to finally utter those words.

“Senior,” Asuka said, her expression having softened considerably, “you’d better not comfort people; it sounds awkward to me.”

"Ha, I'm trying to study hard." Jin Ziyue smiled sheepishly.

"Speaking of which, it was the first time you called me 'Ryuu', senior." Asuka said, feeling a little embarrassed herself, as addressing someone by their name was a gesture of intimacy.

"Oh, really? Seeing you so sad, I just blurted it out without thinking."

"In any case, your brother certainly wouldn't want Asuka to always be crying, so you have to cheer up."

"Hmm." Asuka clasped her hands together and bowed her head. "Senior."

"Ok?"

"Thank you." The girl looked up and turned to face Jin Ziyue directly.

"Ah, no need." Jin Ziyue was a little at a loss.

"Let me... accompany you a little longer, senior." The girl gazed at him, her eyes reflecting the rising sun. "It's truly wonderful to have met you, senior."

"No threat."

Nao's eyes curved slightly, and she quickly said, "These are the files of the experimental subjects. I'm handing them over to you for review."

Jin Ziyue frowned.
