Chapter 37 You're Special
Chapter 37 You're Special

"Weiwei," Huang Dongheng said coldly, not wanting to waste time with her.

“Weiwei? Huang Weiwei?” Bai Mengyao suddenly remembered that Huang Dongheng had a younger sister.

Jealousy can completely change a woman!

Huang Weiwei would occasionally come to the firm to see Huang Dongheng. The profile picture and the real person didn't match up at first glance.

"Oh, Huang Weiwei? What happened to her?" Bai Mengyao knew she was in the wrong, so she spoke in a much softer voice.

"I also want to know what's wrong with her? She hasn't replied to my messages all afternoon!"

Huang Dongheng picked up the water glass on the table with a sense of irritation, weighed it in his hand, and realized there wasn't much water left. He casually handed it to Bai Mengyao.

Bai Mengyao took it and walked towards the water dispenser in the corner of the office.

She went to the water dispenser and bent down to get some water. Bai Mengyao was wearing a brown silk shirt and a black short skirt.

When she was filling the water tank, the hem of her short skirt naturally curled up, and Huang Dongheng glanced over and could see her underwear under her stockings.

Huang Dongheng turned his head away in annoyance, refusing to look in that direction. He couldn't figure out if Bai Mengyao was doing it on purpose or if she genuinely hadn't noticed—was this how she always got water in the office?

Huang Dongheng found Huang Weiwei's phone number and dialed it.

      Beep...beep...beep

The phone rang for a long time but no one answered.

This time, Huang Dongheng couldn't sit still any longer. He got up and paced anxiously around the office.

      I tried again.

      Beep...beep...beep

      Still no answer.

      Where did Huang Weiwei go?

There were times before when she wouldn't answer his calls; this girl is crazy, once she gets into having fun, she simply can't be bothered with him. But she always answers his calls.

In City M, it was just him and Huang Weiwei. Their parents had bought property on the coast and spent most of the year there. They barely lived in City M for a month or two a year.

As the older brother, he naturally took on the roles of Huang Weiwei's ATM, bodyguard, cook, and porter...

I tried calling Huang Weiwei several times but couldn't reach her.

Huang Dongheng started searching through his contacts to see if he had saved Huang Weiwei's friends' phone numbers.

He saw a phone number labeled as Huang Weiwei's boyfriend and dialed it.

After a while, a lazy voice came over: "Who are you looking for?"

"Is Huang Weiwei with you?" Huang Dongheng asked politely.

"Huang Weiwei? We broke up almost a month ago!"

      "..."

After hanging up the phone, Huang Dongheng started searching through his contacts again.

Try this; it's Huang Weiwei's male god.

"Hello, is Huang Weiwei with you?"

"Weiwei, no! What's wrong?" A voice with a southern accent came from behind.

      Has she contacted you recently?

“It happened recently! Last Sunday, she drove up to my building and said she was lost in my neighborhood. She asked me to come down and take her home!”

"..." Huang Dongheng looked embarrassed. When would his sister ever be more reliable? "So... then what?"

"Then, I had no choice but to drive her home. I couldn't let her keep driving around in circles downstairs. She had already gone around several times."

Huang Dongheng snorted sullenly, deciding not to ask anymore. Huang Weiwei wasn't with him today; he'd keep looking.

Huang Dongheng found Yang Shanshan's phone number in his contacts and immediately dialed it, overjoyed.

A moment later, a gentle female voice came from the phone: "Hello, who is this?"

"Hello, Yang Shanshan, I'm Huang Weiwei's brother, my name is Huang Dongheng. Is Weiwei with you today?"

"No, I'm at work. I didn't see her today. But we talked on the phone this morning. What happened to her? Is she okay?"

Yang Shanshan was somewhat surprised to receive Huang Dongheng's call. She had often heard Huang Weiwei talk about her horrific brother, how he oppressed and enslaved her...

Yang Shanshan's impression of Huang Dongheng was limited to this, and she knew that Huang Weiwei was definitely exaggerating, but when she received Huang Dongheng's call, she was actually a little scared.

"I texted her today, but she didn't reply. I called her, but no one answered. This has never happened before, so I'm a little worried!"

Huang Dongheng was about to hang up when Bai Mengyao handed him a water glass so he could have some water.

He waved his hand, tilted his chin toward the sofa, and gestured for Bai Mengyao to sit there and wait for him.

Out of the corner of my eye, I inadvertently glanced at the safe behind the desk.

He hesitated for a moment, then tentatively asked:

"Um... I have a question. Have you heard Weiwei mention a boy named Jia Nan?"

"Jia Nan?" Yang Shanshan tried hard to recall, then answered with certainty, "No."

"...Sorry to bother you, Weiwei contacted you. Could you please let me know?"

"Okay, I'll try to contact her."

Yang Shanshan hung up the phone and immediately called Huang Weiwei.

      Beep...beep...beep

"Shanshan? Is there something you need?"

Huang Weiwei's very familiar voice came through the receiver.

"Weiwei, where are you? Your brother is looking for you!" Yang Shanshan said anxiously. "Why aren't you answering his calls?"

"Oh, it's nothing, I'm having dinner with friends!" Huang Weiwei saw Huang Dongheng's WeChat message in the afternoon, and because it went against her thoughts, she didn't want to talk to him.

Huang Dongheng always uses the excuse of being her older brother to nag her about everything, which is incredibly annoying.

So she deliberately ignored Huang Dongheng's calls, letting him experience the consequences of interfering in other people's private lives.

      "Who?"

Jia Nan glanced at Huang Weiwei and asked casually.

"Oh...it's my best friend." Huang Weiwei quickly covered the phone and said, "I'm hanging up now, I'm very busy!"

"Weiwei, wait a minute, who are you with?" Yang Shanshan pondered for a moment, then suddenly realized something: "Is it a boy named Jia Nan?"

"I'm not talking anymore!" Huang Weiwei saw Jia Nan staring intently at his coffee, lost in thought. His cool aura was so captivating. Huang Weiwei quickly hung up the phone.

These women, when they're single, are inseparable from their best friends. But once they get into a relationship with a guy, they throw everything else aside.

"Hey! Weiwei, how am I supposed to talk to your brother...?"

Yang Shanshan wanted to ask Huang Weiwei whether or not to tell Huang Dongheng about Huang Weiwei's whereabouts, but Huang Weiwei had already hung up the phone.

      This Huang Weiwei!

The kind of guy who'd use the sky as a blanket if it fell down!

Yang Shanshan still sent Huang Dongheng a message, basically saying that she had contacted Huang Weiwei, but she was unavailable to answer the phone and hung up after only a few words. However, Huang Weiwei was fine, and he shouldn't worry.

"Weiwei, do you know? You're unlike any other girl I know!" Jia Nan's voice was cold and sharp.

It was like a gentle breeze blowing from afar, carrying an unfamiliar scent and a deadly allure.

"How is it different?" Huang Weiwei leaned on the bar table, tilting her head to look at Jia Nan.

      "You're so dramatic..."
