Chapter 55 Wrong Telegram

Chapter 55 Wrong Number

Jia Nan was riding her motorcycle around town when her phone vibrated in her pocket just as she was about to get home.

The motorcycle was deafeningly loud when he was driving, and he was wearing a helmet, so he kept his phone on vibrate.

He stopped the car more willingly, took out his phone, glanced at the call, and immediately hung up.

The first floor of the villa was brightly lit, with the crystal chandelier in the living room emitting a dazzling light. However, this light appeared somewhat pale and lackluster in the middle of the night, as if it were devoid of color.

He walked through the brightly lit living room to the dining room, where he saw four exquisite small dishes set on the brown solid wood dining table.

He glanced at the food and nodded in satisfaction. It was all his favorite dishes, showing that the nanny had put a lot of effort into preparing this meal.

The nanny's name is An Ran, and she is only 20 years old this year, so Jia Nan always calls her Xiao Ran.

"Brother Jia Nan is back! Have you eaten yet? Let me heat it up for you."

An Ran was just dozing off when she heard the noise and quickly got up, only to find that Jia Nan had already walked up to her.

"Oh well"

Jia Nan pulled over a solid wood chair that matched the dining table, sat down, and prepared to play a game.

Just then, the phone in the living room rang, and the extension in the dining room also rang.

Jia Nan frowned, got up and answered the phone: "Hello, who is this?"

His voice was cold, and you could feel his aloofness even through the receiver.

"It's me!" came a flustered woman's voice.

Jia Nan paused slightly, but her voice remained calm: "You dialed the wrong number!"

"Really? No way! It was Sister Zhang from the market who called me. She asked me to deliver some vegetables, but when I got home I realized that I had left my ring in the vegetable bag."

The woman was very nervous and blurted out everything in one breath, afraid that if she spoke too slowly, the other party would hang up before she finished.

"What Sister Zhang? You've really dialed the wrong number. The ring really was left behind, and it's probably been thrown away or taken away. How could it possibly be found!"

Jia Nan maintained a calm tone and hung up the phone cleanly and decisively after finishing her sentence.

Xiao Ran quickly heated up the food and brought the dishes to the table one by one. She wiped her hands on her apron and asked, "Did someone dial the wrong number?"

Jia Nan was starving, so she shoved bits of food and rice into her mouth and mumbled an "Mmm."

After chewing and swallowing the food in his mouth, he thought for a moment, then looked up at Xiao Ran and said:

"Someone offered to deliver vegetables to us, but we've never had anyone deliver vegetables to us before, so I just hung up!"

"Sending vegetables is really inexplicable! I always go to the market to pick out the freshest ingredients for Brother Jia Nan to cook for him."

"I don't want them to deliver! The outside might look nice, but the inside is probably wilted and rotten!"

She was best at grocery shopping and cooking. An Ran tilted her head, twisted her plump body, and chattered on and on.

Jia Nan just smiled and continued eating with her head down.
