Sitting and forgetting longevity

Chapter 2012 On the Road

Chapter 2012 On the Road

"Owner!"

A clear phoenix cry pierced the last wisp of scorching air on Fire Rong Island, and Youxuan transformed into a streak of crimson light, rushing towards Liu Qinghuan.

She carefully held a perfectly round pearl the size of a human head, her fingertips lingering on the flame-like patterns flowing across its surface, before handing it over, her tone filled with a triumphant joy mixed with a touch of reluctance.

"Master, this is the core of that Yi beast. Here you go!"

Liu Qinghuan reached out and took it. The moment her fingertips touched the core, a surge of scalding, pure fire elemental power rushed into her meridians, as if she had grasped a sun compressed to its limit.

A faint flame flickered at the center of the core, but it was enveloped by a warm halo, so it would not leak out and harm anyone.

"Not bad," he praised, weighing the core in his hand before placing it back into Youxuan's palm.

"This Yi Beast Pill will benefit your cultivation. After refining it, you can save at least several hundred years of arduous training. Keep it."

"Thank you, Master!" Youyan's eyes instantly lit up like two little stars. She quickly hugged the core tightly to her chest, as if afraid that someone would snatch it away.

Seeing her joyful expression, Liu Qinghuan smiled faintly and asked with concern, "You've worked hard. Are you injured?"

"It's nothing, it's nothing!" Youyan casually raised her arm, revealing several scratches and bruises on her forearm.

"They're just scrapes and bruises. That Yi beast is no match for me. I'll be fine after a few days of rest."

As she spoke, she turned to look at Huitian beside her, tilted her head, and asked, "And you?"

Just moments ago, Huitian was full of energy, but upon hearing this, her eyes darted around three times. Suddenly, she cried out "Ouch!" and collapsed to the ground, clutching her leg. Her little body curled up into a ball, letting out a pitiful and aggrieved cry: "Squeak! Squeak squeak squeak!"

The sound was incredibly pitiful, as if the legs had really been broken. The voice even secretly raised one eye and quickly glanced at Liu Qinghuan.

Liu Qinghuan was amused by his appearance and deliberately put on a stern face, pretending to lift her foot.

"Your leg is broken? Not broken? Do you want me to break it for you? Alright, get up. You did a good job this time. Think about what reward you want and tell me later."

Huitian immediately stopped howling, scrambled to his feet, his tail held high, and his face no longer showed any pain, only a smug look of triumph.

"Squeak!" it squealed excitedly, then began to look around again.

"Stop looking. Fu Bao and Yue Yan are still gathering medicinal herbs on the island," Liu Qinghuan said. "You two go back to the Star Shuttle to rest and treat your wounds. We'll set off once they return."

"Master, where are we going next?" Youxuan asked curiously.

"The Garan Ice Domain." Liu Qinghuan gazed into the depths of the void, his eyes distant: "It is quite far from here; it would take a star shuttle about fifty years to reach it."

There exists a naturally occurring water there called 'Galan Ice Marrow,' which, when used in alchemy, can increase the success rate of pill refining, make the process more stable, and reduce the possibility of furnace explosions.

"Oh." Youxuan wasn't interested in alchemy, and only muttered, "Fifty years...that's too far!"

"Is it far?" Liu Qinghuan chuckled. "For you, fifty years is just the time it takes to go into seclusion. If you get bored, we'll pass through several landmasses similar to Fire Rong Island along the way, where there are some rare spiritual creatures. You can stop and explore then."

"I understand." Youxuan exclaimed, "Master, your Heaven and Earth Mirror is amazing! It records all kinds of spiritual objects."

“Otherwise, why would it be called the Heaven and Earth Treasure Mirror!” Liu Qinghuan laughed.

Not long after, two whooshing sounds came from afar, and Fu Bao and Yue Yan flew back one after the other.

"Master, we're back!" Fu Bao ran over excitedly, handing over a storage bag like a treasure: "We had a very fruitful trip, gathering lots of spiritual herbs!"

Liu Qinghuan nodded: "Thank you for your hard work. Pack your things properly, we should get going."

The master and servants boarded the already unfolded star shuttle. As Liu Qinghuan cast a spell, the silver-white star shuttle emitted a deep and steady hum.

The hatch slowly closed, and the outline of Fire Rong Island grew smaller and smaller outside the porthole, eventually turning into a small red dot and disappearing into the deep void.

The endless void seemed to have no end. There were no sun, moon, or stars here, only eternal darkness and biting cold. Occasionally, a few meteorites covered with thick ice shards would whistle past the porthole, leaving a faint afterimage.

But the void is not truly desolate. Although the environment is extremely harsh, countless tenacious lives still thrive and multiply there.

Various kinds of void beasts lurk in the darkness, waiting for their chance to prey on their prey; and those rare and precious natural treasures that have long since disappeared from the Three Thousand Realms can often be found in this untouched area.

After more than ten years of sailing, the Star Shuttle encountered a turbulent galaxy, and its speed was greatly increased by the power of the galaxy.

Several years later, the Star Shuttle left the Milky Way, only to encounter a huge vortex and almost get sucked in.

Having finally escaped the star vortex, they encountered a swarm of ferocious void worms.

This worm is milky white all over, with segmented body, no eyes, only a large round mouth covered with densely packed sharp teeth.

Each worm was larger than their star shuttle, writhing in the void with an extremely thick outer skin that could not be broken by ordinary means.

What's even more terrifying is that they live in groups of at least a hundred. They are skilled at spinning silk to bind their prey, making cocoons, and then injecting venom into them for the swarm of insects to slowly consume.

Unfortunately, the swarm of worms that Liu Qinghuan and her group encountered was a large one, with thousands of adult worms. The silk they spun was colorful and covered the sky, a spectacular yet terrifying sight.

"This is a rare beast, a treasure from head to toe!" Fu Bao exclaimed, clutching You Qian.

"Its skin can be used to make highly defensive soft armor, its silk is brightly colored and radiant, and the dresses made from it are incomparably gorgeous. Its venom sacs can be used to refine elixirs and make medicines, and even its meat is a top-grade spiritual food that gourmets crave."

So you absolutely mustn't use fire! If you burn those worms to a crisp, we'll suffer a huge loss!

"I know, I know!" Youxuan impatiently shook off his hand: "Hmph, you can't use fire, I still have my claws!"

Finally, the battle was extremely fierce.

The silk spun by the Void Worm is extremely sticky, and you can easily get stuck if you're not careful. It's especially difficult to avoid when countless silk threads fly in from all directions like a blizzard.

Several spirit beasts inevitably fell victim to the trap, their hands, feet, or wings becoming entangled. In the end, it was Liu Qinghuan who intervened and freed them.

The group fought and retreated, constantly careful not to fall into the swarm of insects. After killing hundreds of void worms, they had no choice but to flee in disarray.

Fortunately, they had a good haul. Fu Bao and the others enthusiastically cut off a few pieces of worm meat and decided to grill them to try.

The meat chunks were white and glistening, and after being roasted, they emitted a wonderful aroma. Each bite was tender and chewy, and incredibly delicious.

"Not bad, the meat is delicious and the spiritual energy is very pure. It is indeed a rare spiritual food," Liu Qinghuan commented, picking up another piece to savor.

The voyage that followed was still fraught with difficulties.

There are always unexpected dangers in the endless void. Sometimes it is a sudden spatial rift, sometimes it is a powerful void beast, and sometimes it is a strange void storm.

But there were also frequent surprises; they passed through several large landmasses and obtained many rare spiritual objects and materials.

Because of these unforeseen circumstances, the original 50-year voyage was ultimately delayed by nearly 10 years.

When the sixtieth year arrived, the Star Shuttle finally passed through the last void storm belt and arrived at its destination—the Garan Ice Domain.

Outside the porthole, there was no longer eternal darkness, but an endless expanse of dazzling blue.

It was a perpetually frozen ice continent, and as far as the eye could see, there was crystal-clear, millennia-old blue ice everywhere.

Sunlight shines on the ice, refracting into a rainbow of colors, as if the whole world is covered in sapphire.

The biting wind howled across the ice field, and even the air seemed to freeze, with exhaled breath instantly turning into white ice crystals.

The star shuttle slowly landed on a flat ice field. The hatch opened, and an extremely cold blast of air rushed out.
