Therefore, "You Xia" in the early years of the Western Zhou Dynasty can be understood as "people from the Western Lands".

After King Cheng and King Kang of the Zhou Dynasty, "You Xia" or "Di Xia" disappeared from the handed down documents and inscriptions in bronze, because after the middle of the Western Zhou Dynasty, the way of cohesion of ethnic groups changed, from "You Xia" to "People of the Western Lands" Regional identity has become kinship identity under the patriarchal system centered on the Zhou royal family.
