Chapter 3493: 1 Wall

Chapter 3493 Separated by a Wall

Ordering food is one thing, cooking food is another.

Wang Taika knew his own cooking skills were terrible, so in the end he only planned to cook a few simple home-style dishes. It had been many years since he'd cooked, and now the only thing he could manage on his own was grilling meat; his skills had become quite rusty.

But don't even think about running away, you can at least wash vegetables and serve dishes, right? You have to do some work anyway.

He was wearing an apron, cooking, and looking every bit the professional chef. But actually, he was just secretly searching for recipes in a corner.

Anyway, it's still a very deceptive way of dealing with people.

Chunka and Jiongjing didn't really want to eat Wang Taika's cooking; in fact, they initially thought it was just a joke.

After all, Wang Taika's status is different now, and if he really has a bit of a chauvinistic attitude, the two of them can understand. In Korean tradition, men don't go into the kitchen and are entirely served by women.

Actually, Wang Taika does act aloof now and doesn't do ordinary things. But he doesn't act aloof with Chunka and Jiongjing; he acts that way with people he doesn't know well.

How can you treat your own people the same way you treat others?
After selecting a few representative dishes, Wang Taika waved his hand and said, "I'll satisfy you two today. You can have whatever you want to eat, provided you know how. Anyway, you both have to be my assistants, so don't think you can just eat and not do any work!"

It felt like we'd completely gone off-topic; what could have been a romantic afternoon turned into a lively kitchen battle.

Wang Taika, wearing an apron, was not giving orders with an air of authority, but simply because it felt good to direct two people to work.

Chunka was assigned to wash and chop vegetables. His movements were clumsy but unusually earnest, as if he were creating a delicate work of art. The worst part was that he wasted so many paper towels. He would wash the vegetables, wipe his hands, touch the counter, wipe his hands, pick up the knife, and wipe his hands again.

It's obvious this guy doesn't usually go into the kitchen. Because people who don't usually cook often develop a strange obsession with neatness when they do cook, afraid of getting even a little bit dirty. This is a common problem among those who avoid the kitchen.

But when Wang Taika saw the potato shreds that were cut so thin they could be used as French fries, he couldn't help but think to himself, "Damn, just a pretty face!"

Jiongjing had an easy job, responsible for handing things to Wang Taika. The things that Wang Taika washed and chopped were then transported through Jiongjing's hands. In the meantime, she would sneak a bite of a tomato, or try to smear flour on Wang Taika's face like a little kid, until finally Wang Taika grabbed her wrist and smeared a little white powder on her nose.

“Jiong Jing, if you keep messing around, I’ll deal with you,” Wang Taika threatened.

"Go ahead and deal with me, do you dare?" Jiong Jing was completely unfazed by the threat, but she still changed her tune and said, "Deal with me, are you willing to?"

Acting cute doesn't work!

Wang Taika reached out and tapped Jiong Jing's nose, saying, "Why are you reluctant?"

"Perverted card!" Jiongjing, sporting a white nose, bared his teeth and brandished his claws.

Chunka, watching from the side, couldn't help but smile and say, "Stop fooling around, Crystal, get back to work."

"Oh." Jiongjing pouted, but was very obedient. She looked like a pushover, which was hilarious.

The kitchen was filled with clanging and banging, interspersed with Jiong Jing's shouts, Wang Taika's complaints, and Chun Ka's occasional dissatisfied rebuttals. It was full of the warmth and life of everyday life, yet also incredibly cozy.

However, Wang Taika couldn't help but sigh as he watched Chunka chop the vegetables. He said helplessly, "Fine, your chopping technique is wrong. I'll teach you."

"It's not that I don't know how to cut vegetables, it's just that I'm not used to this knife." Chunka didn't want Wang Taika to think that she was someone who knew nothing about cooking. Even though they were so familiar with each other, she still wanted to clarify any potential misunderstandings.

"I usually use the kind of knife for Western cuisine," Chunka said, feeling wronged. "I'm not good at using this kind of knife."

Chinese kitchen knives do require a bit of a learning curve to use. Unlike Western knives, which come in many fancy varieties, each with its own purpose, a Chinese kitchen knife is a one-stop solution.

However, Wang Taika hadn't intended to scold her; he was just worried that Chunka might cut her hand, so he eventually came to her side and took her wrist, saying, "It's okay, I'll teach you." His unusual gentleness was evident; Wang Taika's palm was warm and dry, and Chunka felt as if she'd been burned, but she didn't pull her hand away. Glancing out of the corner of her eye, she saw Krystal secretly eating a sausage. Chunka's ears turned slightly red, and, taking advantage of a blind spot, she whispered in Wang Taika's ear, "I know, stop nagging."

Her breath was sweet as orchids; she almost really cut her hand this time. That's not a rebuttal, it's pure coquetry.

Wang Taika whispered, "What are you doing?"

Stupid Card dodged and said, "Let's rebel. Since you've taken over, you can just do your own thing."

"You!" Wang Taika laughed in exasperation, watching Chunka leave with an air of superiority, feeling that he had really lost out. His aura had been suppressed?

Jiongjing turned around: "What's wrong? Is my unnie angry? You perverted card, why did you make my unnie angry again?"

A voice came from not far away: "I'm not angry!"

Wang Taika laughed and said, "You're the one who really wants to drive your sister crazy. You're completely admitting that she has a bad temper, right? It's okay, she's just not very good at chopping vegetables, so she went to rest."

"Oh?" Jiong Jing didn't really believe this explanation, but it didn't matter. Right now, it was just her and the perverted card in the kitchen, hehe.

Jiong Jing leaned closer and said, "Perverted Card, don't you feel that everything is more harmonious since you came back this time?"

Wang Taika nodded: "Yes, but there's still one thing, I'm not feeling well."

Jiong Jing asked in surprise, "What?"

“I think it would be better to change the nickname ‘Perverted Card’ to something like ‘Dear Husband’,” Wang Taika said seriously.

Jiongjing gave her a disdainful look.

“Okay, then let’s not use secret codes anymore.” Jiongjing said, “Don’t think about saying anything more, just let me finish the sentence.”

Wang Taika said, "The name 'Perverted Card' is not bad. Although it reveals my personality a bit, I like it."

Jiong Jing then revealed a mischievous smile: "Right? This is the most suitable way for you. After all, I think the way I call you, unnie, is still my own and the most heartfelt."

"And the most impolite!" Wang Taika said helplessly.

"Stupid Card" refers to "Bastard Card." Honestly, the word "bastard" has no offensive meaning for the shameless Wang Taika. Being called a bastard feels like a gentle breeze, even a little comforting.

But this abnormal card still has some residue left. Wait a minute!
Wang Taika stared at Jing in astonishment. Jing was making a "shh" gesture at Wang Taika while leaning close to him, completely exceeding the bounds of intimacy.

"What are you doing?" Wang Taika subconsciously lowered his voice, looked up in the direction of Chunka, and was not discovered.

"You pervert, don't even think about having me and Unnie on opposite sides," Jiongjing said in a drawn-out tone, "but if we're alone together, I'm willing to do anything for you."

Wang Taika said, both amused and exasperated, "I'm very touched, but the problem is, I don't think I've asked for anything, have I?"

Jiong Jing's mischievous grin was an irresistible burst of joy: "I don't care when you're willing, I'm willing now, and I think it's interesting."

Chunka was just a wall away, but Jiongjing was secretly hugging Wang Taika in the kitchen, gently twisting her body.

Wang Taika couldn't take it anymore.
