In many places, farming was purely dependent on the weather. Just scattering seeds on the ground was enough, and the quality of the harvest depended entirely on God.

Therefore, Xiang Nan taught them more sophisticated agricultural knowledge, such as deep plowing, fertilization, breeding, crop rotation, etc., so as to increase unit yield.

In this way, the people can get more food and more wealth. Moreover, more food can feed more people, thus strengthening the country's strength.

In ancient times, population was wealth. More people meant more people would pay taxes, serve in the army, and join the military, which would give us more power to deal with foreign enemies. And more people meant better assimilation of other races.

Egypt now has a population of only 4 million, and with the Hittites it only has 7 million, which is not a lot. It is not easy to annex Europe with such a small population. Even if it can be annexed, it cannot be assimilated, and will eventually split.

Therefore, Xiang Nan requires that the more people the better, and the more people there are, the more conducive to development.
