Chapter 4937 4940 [Wonderful Enlightenment Buddha]

Ten years passed in a flash, and Fahai successfully achieved enlightenment and became a holy monk, which is equivalent to an immortal in Taoism.

Fahai himself was born with wisdom and a deep affinity with Buddhism. With the support of a father like the giant python god, it was natural that he could cultivate Buddhism much faster than others.

After becoming a holy monk, Fahai continued to practice in Jinshan Temple, exorcising demons and saving all living beings.

At the same time, Xiang Nan continued to practice Buddhism.

He studied the Buddhist Tripitaka in detail at Mount Lingshan and listened to the teachings of Tathagata Buddha, Dipankara Buddha, Jie Yin Buddha, Maitreya Bodhisattva, Guanyin Bodhisattva, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva and others, and gradually deduced a method suitable for his own attainment of Buddhahood.

It is the Dharma of Nirvana through the Calamity of Love.

The Avatamsaka Sutra says that all sentient beings will attain perfect enlightenment, and both sentient and non-sentient beings will attain nirvana at the same time.

The calamity of love is the calamity of Buddha; birth, death, love and desire are just the whetstone for achieving the supreme Bodhi.

When the Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, the demon king Mara sent his three daughters to seduce the Buddha in an attempt to destroy His practice.

The three daughters are Love, Greed and Pleasure. They try their best to seduce the Buddha.

The Buddha was not moved at all. Instead, he said that although they looked good, their hearts were not right, just like a glass bottle filled with excrement.

The Buddha then cast a spell to make love, greed, and pleasure show their evil forms, and all they saw were skeletons, bones, skin, tendons, pus sacs, and saliva. The three witches were so ashamed that they fled.

As a result, Tathagata Buddha resisted temptation and successfully attained enlightenment.

Therefore, Xiang Nan also followed the Buddha's example and gained enlightenment through emotions.

He connected his marriage thread with all living beings in the world.

The ten directions and three times are nothing but Dharma-kindred. The sentient and the insentient share the same perfect wisdom.

In this way, Xiang Nan loves all living beings, and all living beings love Xiang Nan.

The Sutra in Forty-two Chapters says, "People are entangled in love and desire, and their hearts are turbid, so they cannot see the Tao." Therefore, "when love and desire are abandoned, and the filth of desire is eliminated, the Tao can be seen."

Xiang Nan then used his supreme will to wield his sword to cut off his emotional ties, get rid of his troubles, and ultimately achieve Nirvana.

This is the "Dharma of Nirvana in the Calamity of Love".

Every time you cut off a thread of love, you are going through a love tribulation, you get rid of your worries, you attain enlightenment, and you achieve ultimate nirvana.

There are more than tens of millions of living beings in the world, so Xiang Nan's speed of enlightenment will naturally be fast.

According to Buddhism, a Bodhisattva needs to go through three asamkhya kalpas to cultivate and become a Buddha.

One Asankhyeya kalpa is ten to the power of twenty-eight years, which can be said to be longer than the years of practice of the Jade Emperor in Journey to the West.

The Jade Emperor cultivated for a total of 1,750 kalpas, each kalpa lasting 129,600 years, so the total time he cultivated was about 200 million years, which is less than 10 to the power of 10.

This shows how difficult it is for a Bodhisattva to become a Buddha.

But this is the average speed of Bodhisattva’s practice.

In fact, there is a saying in Buddhism that "one can become a Buddha in this very body".

That is to say, as long as one has reached a certain state and merits, one can become a Buddha directly without having to practice for tens of millions...years.

The Lotus Sutra records that the daughter of the Dragon King Sagara, who was only eight years old, had a sharp wisdom and could uphold all the profound secrets taught by the Buddhas. In an instant, she developed the Bodhi mind and attained the state of non-retrogression. She offered a precious pearl to the Buddha, and with this merit and vow, she suddenly changed from a girl to a boy and instantly attained Buddhahood in the Pure Land.

Xiang Nan's cultivation speed is now much faster than that of ordinary Bodhisattvas, but compared with the daughter of the Dragon King Sugara, he is still a long way behind. Fortunately, he knows that Tathagata has promised him to become a Buddha, so he does not need to be anxious.

…Time passed quickly, thousands or tens of thousands of years passed.

It is said that there are no Jiazi in the mountains, and the year is unknown even when the weather is cold.

When Xiang Nan didn't know how long he had been practicing, suddenly, he realized that he was about to become a Buddha.

Because over the years, he has brought together countless couples, blessed countless couples, and accumulated countless merits. Moreover, he has repeatedly cut off his love ties and achieved nirvana, which has also tempered his character to be extremely strong.

Therefore he has attained the state of Buddha.

For a moment, flowers fell from the sky, golden lotuses emerged from the ground, and countless living beings in the world rejoiced and praised Xiang Nan for his achievement.

The Tathagata Buddha also ascended the lotus throne and ordered the two great arhats, Subduing the Dragon and Subduing the Tiger, to strike the cloud chimes, and invited all the three thousand Buddhas, three thousand Jietis, eight Vajras, four Bodhisattvas, five hundred arhats, eight hundred monks, all lay men, nuns and lay women, and all the holy monks, big and small, from all the heavens and caves, blessed places and sacred mountains. Those who should sit should ascend the throne, and those who should stand should stand on both sides.

For a moment, heavenly music could be heard from afar, immortal sounds could be heard loudly, the sky was filled with auspicious lights and auspicious auras, and all the Buddhas gathered.

Xiang Nan, Bai Suzhen and Xiaoqing walked slowly into the main hall and paid homage to the Buddha together.

"Miaoyuan Bodhisattva, you are in charge of human marriages, you have done your best, fulfilled your duties, and accumulated countless merits." The Tathagata Buddha said, "You have also practiced diligently and bravely, and finally achieved enlightenment. Congratulations. I will now promote you to a higher position and make you the Miaoyuan Awakening Buddha!"

"Thank you, Buddha." Xiang Nan bowed and said.

Immediately, auspicious clouds appeared above his head and eight-petal lotus flowers appeared under his feet, and he attained Buddhahood from that moment on.

"Good Fate Goddess, you protect couples and bring them joy and harmony. You work diligently and willingly, and your merits are immense." Tathagata Buddha added, "I will now promote you to a higher position and make you Good Fate Bodhisattva."

"Thank you, Buddha." Bai Suzhen bowed and said.

"He Li Tian Nu, you cut off the evil fate and saved countless infatuated men and women. You are single-minded and unswerving, and your merits are immeasurable." The Tathagata Buddha said, "I will now promote you to a higher position and make you the He Li Arhat."

"Thank you, Buddha." Xiaoqing also bowed and saluted.

The three of them achieved the same goal, so they were naturally very happy.

All the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, holy monks, Arhats, Jietis, Bhikkhus, Upasikas, immortals in all mountains and caves, great gods, Dingjia, Gongcao, Galanan, land gods, and all the enlightened teachers and immortals were all delighted and praised him endlessly.

After becoming a Buddha, Xiang Nan continued to practice.

Although Buddha is the pinnacle of Buddhism, it is not the end of practice.

In Xiang Nan's opinion, Buddha is only equivalent to the Golden Immortal. Although he has boundless magical powers and eternal immortality, he has not yet reached the level of the God of Creation.

Even compared with saints like Nuwa, Shennong and Fuxi, there is still a big gap.

In Journey to the West, Tathagata Buddha is only one of the Five Elders of the Five Directions, and his status is not as high as the Three Pure Ones and the Four Imperial Gods; in Investiture of the Gods, there are saints above Buddha, and above saints there is the way of heaven.

If placed in the Marvel Universe, Buddha is equivalent to the gods, belonging to the level of a single universe. He does not have the ability to create the universe, but has the ability to influence the universe.

There is still a gap between him and the multiverse-level gods such as Life, Eternity, Death, Infinity, and Devouring Star. There is also an unknown number of levels behind the Life Tribunal that is in charge of the super universe, and the OAA above the Life Tribunal.

Therefore, Buddha is not the end of practice; on the contrary, there is still the possibility of continuing to make progress.

After Xiang Nan became the Buddha of Wonderful Enlightenment, he obtained two more magic weapons.

One is the web of sinful love in the universe, which is woven into a web by countless sinful lines, on which floats the sinful karma of all sentient beings in the six realms of existence in the universe.

Even the arhats, bodhisattvas, and even Buddhas who have cut off all love, hatred, and emotions, once caught in the net, will involuntarily fall into love, hatred, and emotions again, and experience the tribulation of love once again.

One is the Formless Nirvana Sword, with the Sanskrit words "no self, no person, no living being, no life" engraved on the blade, which can cut off all good and bad karma.
