Chapter 30 The Fake Gu Tangtang

Kong Tingting and her companion returned to the entrance of the People's Hospital, but Major Gu still hadn't arrived. The sun was setting, and it was getting dark. She tapped her head in frustration, saying, "I should have borrowed Tangtang's phone earlier. Now I have no idea where the Major is."

"There's nothing we can do. They've probably left by now. Let's just wait a bit longer."

Just then, a children's song started playing. The two looked over and saw a little boy, about three years old, driving a red toy Porsche past them. The song played softly as the child drove by. Looking at the little red car carrying the child, Kong Tingting tugged at her husband's clothes. "Gu Tangtang just said that if you see a red car pass by, you should move one meter to the left. Does this count?"

"I guess so?" Sun Sheng scratched his head, then pulled Kong Tingting a meter to the side in confusion.

"Why did you do this..." Before they could finish speaking, a loud crash rang out. A car sped past them, slamming into a utility pole. The pole snapped in two and crashed to the ground, hitting a truck in the process. Several more loud crashes followed as a chain reaction of car collisions occurred. One car swerved to avoid a collision, crashing into a flowerbed and overturning. In just one minute, a multi-vehicle pileup had happened! The two men looked behind them and saw that the hospital railings had been broken. They stared in disbelief and swallowed hard.

Cries and shouts filled the air, and hospital staff rushed out to treat the injured. The two men looked at each other in dismay. If they had been standing in the same spot, they would be either dead or seriously injured now.
"Wow, this is amazing!" Sun Sheng stammered.

"Uh-huh!"

The two exchanged a glance. Could this be precognition? This ability is too incredible!
When Gu Yuanhong arrived, he saw the place in complete disarray, and his two subordinates were staring at each other in a daze. He went up and patted Sun Sheng on the shoulder, "What are you thinking about? What happened here? No wonder the car couldn't get here. You've got some nerve, haven't you? You haven't been out of the army for long, and you've already let a thief steal from you. Go back and train harder!"

"Major!" He had barely uttered the word when Gu Yuanhong slapped him on the back of the head.

"What are you yelling for? We're outside! Call me by my name!" Gu Yuanhong scolded.

"Oh," Sun Sheng replied listlessly.

Gu Yuanhong waved his hand and said, "Let's talk as we walk, the car can't get here."

Once everyone was back in the car, Gu Yuanhong drove towards the First People's Hospital.

After holding back for a while, Kong Tingting couldn't help but ask Gu Yuanhong, "Major, what is your sister Gu Tangtang's special ability?"

"My sister Tangtang?" Gu Yuanhong asked again, puzzled. "My Tangtang doesn't have any superpowers."

"It shouldn't be that. She probably just awakened her abilities a little later. We ran into her today and saw her use them. She even said she didn't know what abilities were. Did you guys forget to tell her that your family has abilities? I even gave her the ability manual. Her ability seems pretty powerful; she can conjure paper out of thin air and seems to be able to foresee the future. If it weren't for her, we would be dead." Kong Tingting recalled the paper that appeared out of thin air in Yang Nianqing's hand. She just didn't know what that ability was. It didn't seem to have any harmful power, but being able to foresee the future was impressive.

Sun Sheng continued, "Her boyfriend is no ordinary person either. He seems to have some kind of psychic ability. He knocked Tingting down with just a glance."

Kong Tingting gave him a sharp look: "Who fell down? I was caught off guard and ambushed."

The space fell silent instantly, the air seeming to grow colder. Gu Yuanhong's aura sharpened instantly. "So you just gave away the superpower manual so casually? And my Tangtang knows about superpowers, she's on vacation in the Maldives. She doesn't even have a boyfriend! Who was that guy you met?"

The two were stunned. Had they been scammed? No way! "She...she said her name is Gu Tangtang. She also said we'd meet at the hospital later, that she'd go see An Yu." Gu Yuanhong was silent, utterly incredulous. Kong Tingting was one thing, but Sun Sheng was a former professional soldier—how could he be so easily fooled and tricked? No wonder they kept getting passed around between different teams; this foolish couple!
"You believe everything others say? Don't you have any judgment at all? Do you think you can just hand out superpower manuals like that? After this mission, you'll go back and face your punishment!" Gu Yuanhong said, exasperated. If they weren't taught a lesson, they wouldn't understand the seriousness of the situation.

She scratched the back of the chair in frustration and retorted, "That girl looks exactly like Xu Nuofei. I've also seen his biological sister, Xu Daiqing. She looks similar to him but isn't Xu Daiqing. So who else could it be but Gu Tangtang?"

"Looks exactly like Nuofei again?" Gu Yuanhong frowned. "Although Nuofei and Tangtang are cousins, they don't look alike, let alone exactly the same!"

"Then, who is she? Major, do you have any other young female relatives?" Kong Tingting asked, stammering.

Gu Yuanhong coldly replied, "No!" How would I know who she is? He wondered if it was a conspiracy targeting the Gu family or something else. Who was behind that fake Gu Tangtang, from S country or R country?
Kong Tingting and her companion slumped back in their chairs, utterly dejected. They were about to be punished!
Kong Tingting pinched Sun Sheng's hand, it's all his fault for not stopping her!
Sun Sheng hissed and rubbed his arm in frustration. It wasn't his fault, and he had tried to persuade him before, but could he really convince him otherwise?

Undeterred, she pressed on, "Major, that girl looks exactly like your cousin. Are you sure your cousin's family didn't switch babies? That girl even has superpowers. Isn't your family a family with superpowers?"

Hearing this, Gu Yuanhong's heart skipped a beat. He quickly shook his head, suppressing his uncontrollable thoughts. Qingqing had lived with them for 19 years; how could they have been switched at birth! But supernatural abilities…

Regardless, the seed of doubt was still planted in Gu Yuanhong's heart.

"Yes, I probably can't go today. Thank you for your help, Sister Zhang." Yang Nianqing hung up the phone by the window, just as Fan Ruichen brought over a glass of water.

"Qingqing, have some water."

"Okay." Yang Nianqing replied. She had just called Sister Zhang to tell her that she couldn't go today. After parting ways with Kong Tingting, she and Fan Ruichen returned to his hotel. The superpower manual was now lying on the table.

Today was truly a thrilling day. She almost capsized due to her lack of experience. The old saying was right; she was still too inexperienced. She looked at Fan Ruichen again, having even caused him to get injured.

"Ah Chen, are you really alright?" she asked worriedly.

Fan Ruichen smiled and pulled Yang Nianqing into his arms. He knew she felt guilty, but Yang Nianqing really hadn't done anything wrong. He was happy that he could protect her. "I'm fine. You didn't do anything wrong. Don't feel guilty."

Yang Nianqing was silent for a while before speaking dejectedly: "Am I really that useless? I actually got scared by a ghost."

Fan Ruichen rubbed her head: "It's normal to be afraid of ghosts, I'm afraid too. Besides, you defeated that vengeful ghost in the end, I couldn't do that."

She smiled and nodded, feeling comforted. She suddenly remembered how Fan Ruichen had controlled the vengeful ghost earlier that day. "Ruichen, how did you control that ghost today? Could you do that before?"
