Chapter 40 Finding Jin Jin
Countless moments of remorse, countless midnight reveries. That scene, that face, kept replaying in her mind, reminding her of her mistake! Reminding her of her sin! How could she possibly admit her mistake? It was hatred that ran deep in her bones!
Noticing that Guan Yu was upset, Qin Zifeng turned around and took her hand. "Guan Yu, don't be impulsive!"

Guan Yu's eyes were bloodshot, and she was filled with murderous intent. She gritted her teeth to keep herself from rushing forward immediately. Her tone was full of hatred: "He killed my sister-in-law, caused my brother's death, and stole Jinjin. He destroyed my family. How can I tolerate this! Master, how can I tolerate this?"

Qin Zifeng unbuckled his seatbelt and stepped from the front seat to the back. He saw the murderous intent in Guan Yu's eyes and gripped her shoulders. "Guan Yu, look at me! Calm down! Don't be impulsive. This is a society governed by law. If you go and kill them now, what will happen to you? What will happen to your nephew, Jinjin?" What will happen to me…

Guan Yu pointed at the person who had walked away and hissed in a low voice, "Shouldn't that kind of person die? That kind of person!" Guan Yu couldn't help but choke up at the end.

Qin Zifeng stroked her hair, tucked it behind her ear, and wiped away the tears that welled up in her eyes. "People like that should be punished by law, and the country will take care of it."

Guan Yu nodded through her tears, "What do we do now? Were the children they're holding also stolen? How can we call the police in this remote, impoverished area?"

Qin Zifeng pondered for a moment, then went out to make a phone call. When he returned, he told Guan Yu not to worry, as he had everything arranged.

Guan Yu nodded hesitantly. Although she didn't know how her master had arranged things, there was no other way now. At worst, she would run into those human traffickers and beat them half to death, then wait for the police to arrive. That was her decision.

Guan Yu and Qin Zifeng got out of the car and walked towards the direction of the pedestrians.

"Master, I'm very scared," Guan Yu said softly.

Qin Zifeng patted Guan Yu's head. "What are you afraid of? I'm here."

“I was afraid Jinjin would have a bad life, I was afraid he would hate me. Jinjin was already 4 years old at the time, and he saw his mother with his own eyes…” Guan Yu couldn’t bear to continue. What a shadow that scene must have cast on a child.

"This is not your fault. Only by finding Jinjin can your brother and sister-in-law rest in peace, right? Don't be afraid, I will always be with you."

"Mmm." Guan Yu nodded and smiled at Qin Zifeng, "Thank you, Master. It's so good to be your apprentice."

Qin Zifeng: "..."

As dawn broke, after walking for about two hours, the two finally saw the shadow of a village. Wisps of smoke rose slowly from the chimneys. The villagers slept little, and many got up as early as 6 a.m. to prepare breakfast, because they would have to go to the fields to work after breakfast.

Guan Yu and Qin Zifeng found a secluded spot to observe the place. For some reason, the women who got up early to cook seemed to be in a bad mood and looked lifeless.

"These people seem a bit off," Guan Yu whispered in Qin Zifeng's ear.

"Hmm, let's go inside and take a look." Qin Zifeng unconsciously scratched his ear behind Guan Yu's back, his dark skin showing a hint of rosy red, which was not noticeable unless you paid attention.

The two walked in and hid themselves in the piles of straw around them.

A man with a buzz cut walked by, and another woman, yawning, immediately grabbed him. "Ah Shui, did Ah Yong and the others bring some new goods this time?"

The man laughed and said, "Yes, Sister Hong, there are several girls at Liu Li's house at the east end of the village. Why don't you go and pick one? They're cheap, and your little tiger will have a wife in the future."

The woman, Sister Hong, covered her mouth and laughed, "Then I'll go take a look."

"Snapped!"

A woman in the neighboring yard accidentally broke a bowl, and she hurriedly squatted down to pick it up.

The man's expression immediately changed. He picked up the soft whip from the bucket and lashed it at the woman, saying, "You can't even cook a meal properly, and you can't even have children. I don't know what I bought you for. If you break another bowl, I'll sell you. What about my son?"

The woman apologized tremblingly and pointed inside the house.

Sister Hong also sneered at the woman and swaggered away. The woman squatted down to pick up the broken pieces, crying softly. The other neighbors who saw this silently looked away and continued with their own business.

Guan Yu could hardly believe her eyes. What kind of place was this? What did they treat people like? Commodities? She looked at the women around her who seemed used to it all. Were they all bought? What was wrong with this village? This village was terrifying.

A man carried a four- or five-year-old boy out, and regardless of whether the boy smiled or not, the man kept holding him and trying to amuse him.

Guan Yu's lips trembled and moved slightly. "What's wrong?" Qin Zifeng turned his head and asked her.

Guan Yu pointed at the child, "That's Jinjin!"

"What?!" Qin Zifeng immediately turned to look at the child. Before he could speak, Guan Yu had already rushed out.

"Jin Jin!"

When the long-lost name rang out, the boy's calm eyes stirred. He looked up and saw a woman running towards him, and memories of his family slowly became clearer in his mind.

"Auntie!" the boy cried out, reaching out his hands to Guan Yu.

Zhang Shui immediately hugged the little boy tightly and yelled at Guan Yu, "Who are you! Get out of my way!" As he spoke, he tried to find something handy to use as a weapon.

Guan Yu's eyes sharpened, and she rushed forward with a powerful high kick, immediately grabbing the little boy under his arm and snatching him away. Guan Yu hugged her nephew Guan Xin tightly, crying out, "Auntie's here, Jin Jin, Auntie's here!"

"Auntie." Guan Xin hugged Guan Yu's neck and cried loudly, as if she wanted to vent all the sadness and fear she had been feeling for a while.

Zhang Shui, who was kicked away, picked up a broom and swung it at Guan Yu, but was then kicked away by Qin Zifeng, who was chasing after him.

Guan Yu looked at Qin Zifeng with teary eyes, sobbing and hiccuping: "Master, Master, I found Jinjin, I found Jinjin, Master is so amazing!"

Qin Zifeng impatiently pulled out a handkerchief to wipe her tears. This little girl was too impulsive. She rushed out before the police even arrived. What would she do if he wasn't there? Looking at the two of them crying together, Qin Zifeng felt helpless.

"Help! Help! They're snatching the child!" Seeing that he couldn't beat Qin Zifeng, Zhang Shui shouted. It was still early, and most people were still at home except for those who went to Liu Li's house to choose a child.

Hearing Zhang Shui's shouts, several men from nearby houses rushed out and saw two unfamiliar people standing in Zhang Shui's yard, with the woman holding Zhang Shui's child and crying. The men exchanged glances, grabbed their weapons, and surrounded the two.

"You are all despicable!" Hearing the other party shout that they were trying to snatch the child, Guan Yu was furious. This person was shameless. She wiped her face hard and stood up with Guan Xin in her arms.

While human traffickers are certainly despicable, these buyers are no less so. If they weren't buying people, there wouldn't be so many abducted and robbed people, and so many families wouldn't be broken apart.

"Give me back my son!" Zhang Shui roared.

"He's not your son, he's my Jinjin." Guan Yu was so angry at this person's shamelessness that she almost cried.

Upon hearing this, the other men sneered, "You dare come to our Daohua Village to snatch people? You won't be leaving now!" It's not like no one has ever found this place before, only to be buried in the back mountains. These two will be no exception! Perhaps the woman can stay.

Seeing the man's lewd and evil gaze, a murderous glint flashed in Qin Zifeng's eyes.

"Attack!" Zhang Shui gave the order, and several men swung their weapons at him. Qin Zifeng protected Guan Yu behind him. None of the men had any martial arts training, and they attacked haphazardly without any strategy. In just a few moves, Qin Zifeng knocked them to the ground and dislocated their hands.

Several men screamed in pain as their hands were dislocated, yelling that their women were inconsiderate and didn't come to help.

Several women watched coldly, their eyes filled with deep-seated hatred.

Hearing the noise, the other villagers grabbed their weapons and came over.

Suddenly, a buzzing sound came from the sky. When everyone looked up, they saw several helicopters flying over and dozens of ropes being thrown down. People in black uniforms climbed down the ropes and quickly subdued the armed men before the villagers could react.

Guan Yu hiccuped, what's going on?
Five minutes later, several more people came over carrying several children and infants, followed by several men and women. The leader saluted Qin Zifeng and said, "Mission complete! Please give instructions!"

Guan Yu hiccuped, what's going on?
Guan Yu's mouth dropped open. Was her master really that amazing?
Qin Zifeng chuckled and tapped her head: "Very good. Next, hand the person over to the police and cooperate with them to bring the rest to justice."

The other person immediately stood at attention, saluted, and said, "Yes, sir!"

The women around who hadn't been arrested were crying their eyes out; they were finally saved!
