Harry Potter and the Great Old Ones
Chapter 112 Idol
Chapter 112 Idol
After the class was seated, Lockhart cleared his throat loudly to quiet everyone down. He reached for Neville Longbottom's "Walking with Trolls" and held it up, showing off the photo of himself winking on the cover.
“Me!” Lockhart pointed to his photo and blinked, “Giddon Lockhart, Order of Merlin, Third Class, Honorary Member of the League Against the Dark Arts, five-time winner of the Wizarding Weekly’s Most Charming Smile Award—”
"But I don't talk about it. I don't exorcise Wanlun's ghost with a smile!"
He was waiting for everyone to laugh.
But a few people gave a faint smile—
Tierra, on the other hand, was clapping enthusiastically.
"What are you doing?" Tom Riddle asked, puzzled.
“Isn’t he charming?” Tierra said deliberately.
Tom Riddle: ? ? ?
No, why did my well-fed little lamb suddenly turn its back to someone else?
Gidrol Lohart smiled at Tiera—
vomit--
vomit--
vomit--
Tierra inwardly vomited.
But it's something I have to do—
He needed a reason; he needed a reason to deliver Tom Riddle's diary to Gilderoy Lockhart—
In the original Harry Potter novels, Gilderoy Lockhart's life at Hogwarts in the later stages was far less carefree than depicted in the movies.
Especially after Christmas.
His series of outrageous actions in the first semester of second grade ruined all his goodwill among the students, even those little witches who were extremely infatuated with him—
For example, Hermione Granger also saw through Gilderoy Lockhart's true colors.
The overwhelming criticism put him under unprecedented pressure.
Sadly, he has yet to provide any compelling evidence to refute these allegations.
As a result, Gilderoy Lockhart became increasingly sensitive and suspicious in the following semester.
Gilderoy Lockhart will crave power more than ever before—
A person who craves power.
And one is willing to give strength.
Tierra believed that Gilderoy Lockhart would be a perfect match for "Tom Riddle's Diary".
In fact, Tiera didn't have any ill feelings towards Gilderoy Lohart.
Although in Tiera's previous life, academic plagiarism was an unforgivable act.
But compared to Voldemort, who could kill at any moment with Avada Kedavra, what does academic plagiarism amount to in this chaotic Harry Potter world?
The real reason Tiera decided to bring Gilderolohatra into the game was—
“I see you’ve all bought my complete works, very good. I think we should start with a little quiz today. Don’t be afraid, just see how well you read and how much you’ve understood—” Gilderoy Lockhart, flashing his bright white teeth, handed out a stack of papers.
The real reason is this.
Tierra looked at the test paper:
1. What is Gilderoy Lockhart's favorite color?
2. What was Gilderoy Lockhart's secret ambition?
3. What do you consider to be Gidrow Lockhart's greatest achievement to date?
And so on, filling three whole pages, with the last question being: 54. What is Gilderoy Lockhart's birthday? What is his ideal birthday present?
Tierra was certain that the final exam set by this defense against the dark arts teacher, who lacked real skill, would be something similar—
It could even be more outrageous.
Tyella didn't know either, after all, in the original story, Gilderoy Lockhart didn't even make it past his final exams before Harry and Ron kicked him into the Chamber of Secrets.
But there are no basilisks this year.
Or rather, there won't be any deadly basilisk attacks this year—
In other words, Lupin will probably still be wandering around next year, and he will have to face Lockhart's extremely narcissistic exam paper at the end of the semester.
Tierra was almost certain that Lockhart's exam paper wouldn't even get a high score, let alone be the best.
No!
Whenever she thought of this, Tiera would be filled with rage.
Whether Lu Pingliu or not is irrelevant.
But there absolutely cannot be any blemishes on my perfect record!
Half an hour later, Lockhart collected the test papers and looked through them in front of the whole class.
“Tsk tsk…almost no one remembers that my favorite flower is lilac—” Lockhart paused suddenly when he turned to Tierra’s exam paper. “Oh, Merlin’s beard, look at Tierra’s exam paper!”
Gidrol Lohart pulled out Tierra's exam paper separately and said.
"Look, look at this test paper!" Lockhart showed Tierra's test paper to everyone—"Look, all correct! All correct." Lockhart said excitedly, "Perfect score! I'm giving Tierra a hundred points."
After saying that, Gilderoy smiled at Tiera.
Tierra forced a smile while suppressing her nausea.
"Getting back to the main topic." Lockhart bent down and pulled a large cage covered with a cloth from behind the podium, placing it on the table.
“Now, be careful! My task is to teach you how to resist the most evil things known in the magical world! You will face the most terrifying things in this classroom. But remember, as long as I am here, you will not be harmed. I only ask that you remain calm.”
Tiera drew her wand with one hand and pressed the "Inheritor" spellboard tightly against it with the other.
"What is this idiot up to?" Tom Riddle, hiding in Tierra's arms, seemed to have a bad feeling as well.
"Why are you taking out your wand?" Hermione asked Tyella, looking at her strangely.
“I have a bad feeling,” Tyella said to Hermione. “You should get your wand ready too.”
“Don’t say that about Professor Lockhart,” Tierra said to Tom Riddle. “Lockhart is a wizard even greater than the Dark Lord! His ideals and his beliefs deeply moved me; he was a ray of light in my dark life—”
After reading this long monologue, Tyrell put Hermione's wicked thoughts back outside her mental walls.
Tom Riddle: ...
Is the lamb that I painstakingly raised really going to be eaten by a pig?
“I must ask you not to scream,” Lockhart said in a low voice, “that will enrage them!”
The whole class held their breath as Lockhart lifted the cover.
“Not bad,” he said theatrically, “a Cornish elf that I just caught.”
Simofnigan couldn't help but chuckle, and even Lockhart couldn't possibly mistake it for a scream of terror.
"What's wrong?" he asked with a smile.
“Well, they’re not…they’re not very…dangerous, are they?” Seamus laughed, almost breathless.
“Don’t be so sure!” Lockhart said, shaking his finger at him irritably. “They could also be devilishly cunning little vandals!”
These little sprites are bluish-gray, about eight inches tall, with pointed faces and extremely shrill, piercing voices, like a bunch of budgies arguing. As soon as the cage is removed, they start chattering, jumping around, shaking the bars, and making all sorts of strange faces at people nearby.
“Fine,” Lockhart shouted, “Let’s see how you deal with them!”
He opened the cage door—
This has created complete chaos.
The sprites flew around like rockets. Two of them grabbed Neville by the ears and lifted him up. Several others rushed out of the window and scattered broken glass all over the back of the classroom.
The rest wreaked havoc in the classroom, more rampaging than a charging rhinoceros. They grabbed ink bottles and splashed ink all over the class, tore books and paper to shreds, ripped down pictures from the walls, turned the trash cans upside down, and threw schoolbags and textbooks out the broken windows.
A few minutes later, half the class hid under the tables, while Neville swung on the chandelier.
Meanwhile, Tierra's "successors" were ecstatic—
With a "whoosh," it flew out of Tiera's hand and into the air. Taking advantage of the chaos, it unfolded the pages of the book and began calling out "Corndine elf" repeatedly.
It also occasionally lets out satisfied cries.
The "Inheritor" possesses all of Tiera's memories and personality.
Like Tierra, she was opportunistic and greedy for small gains.
“Come, gather them, gather them! They’re nothing but little sprites!” Lockhart shouted. He rolled up his sleeves, brandished his wand, and roared, “Peschipxie Pestnomi!”
To no avail; a little elf grabbed Lockhart's wand and threw it out the window as well.
Lockhart gasped and crawled under the lectern, nearly getting hit by Neville, because almost at the same moment, the chandelier gave way and fell.
The bell rang, and everyone rushed out. In the ensuing quiet, Lockhart straightened up and saw Harry, Ron, and Hermione already at the door. He said, "Ah, I ask the four of you to put the rest of them back in their cages."
He rushed out of the classroom before them and closed the door as soon as he was outside.
Tierra: ...
Tom Riddle: ...
[That's it? That's it? That's it?]
Tierra heard Tom Riddle say in her mind.
But this is clearly a low-EQ statement.
“Your idol is really brave,” Tom Riddle said with high emotional intelligence.
"Hmm." Tyella, like a girl in the throes of first love, once again kept Hermione's wicked thoughts outside her mental walls. "Professor Lockhart must be trying to train me—"
“Professor Lockhart is so thoughtful, always considering our needs,” Tierra added.
