Harry Potter and the Great Old Ones
Chapter 144 Compiling Prophecies
Chapter 144 Compiling Prophecies
Relying on his previous reputation and his "superb" spellcasting skills after returning from Christmas, Gilderoy Lockhart quickly won back the favor of most of the teachers and students at Hogwarts.
Just as easily as Tiera spread rumors, this mob was equally willing to offer Gilderoy Lockhart their cheap loyalty, cheap oaths, and to spread Gilderoy Lockhart's words to others.
But clearly not everyone believed Gilderoy Lockhart's story.
Harry and Ron were the first to distrust Gilderoy Lockhart, and no matter how wonderful the magic he displayed in subsequent lessons, Harry and Ron always harbored a hostile attitude towards him.
“That Lockhart is definitely not normal!” Ron said decisively after another Defense Against the Dark Arts class. “I don’t know what’s wrong with him, but he’s definitely not normal!”
“I get chills just looking at him when he smiles now,” Ron added.
Harry nodded, and even Hermione, a rare fan of Gilderoy Lockhart, didn't object, because she saw Gilderoy Lockhart smile—
Hermione always felt a chill for no reason when she smiled at Tyrell.
“Hmm… Tyella…” Hermione suddenly said during breakfast one day, “I think Lockhart’s gaze towards you…”
Hermione carefully chose her words, saying, "I feel like the way Professor Lockhart looks at you... is a little off, a bit like... a bit like the way Ron looked at the chicken leg... Professor Lockhart... is he... is he interested in you?"
"Pfft—" Tierra sprayed out the milk she was drinking.
"Hey!" Neville, who was sitting opposite Tierra, got sprayed with milk and shouted angrily, "Tierra, what are you doing?"
“Oh… I’m sorry, Neville.” Tierra waved her wand.
“Everything is spotless—” Tierra said.
The milk on Neville's face was instantly blown away by a gentle breeze.
As Tiera put away her wand, she glanced at Gilderoy Lockhart—
Then Tiera felt a chill rise from her tailbone.
A week has passed since the last Defense Against the Dark Arts class. Today is January 17th, and as every morning, a large number of young wizards come to him seeking prophecy.
This has almost become a habit for these Hogwarts students.
Since Tyella can't give any prophecies and won't ask for money, there's no harm in asking.
Moreover, ever since Tiera fulfilled a prophecy for the Gryffindor upperclassman who used a love potion to find a boyfriend, Tiera's popularity has soared to a new peak—
Because Hogwarts has a history of serious accidents caused by love potions, the school has always been very strict in punishing students who use them; once discovered, they are usually expelled immediately.
However, because the Gryffindor upperclassman voluntarily removed the love potion, sincerely apologized, and the boy who had been drugged said he would not hold it against her, the school only punished her with a five-week detention and a deduction of twenty points from Gryffindor.
Compared to being expelled from school, a mere five-week confinement is a rather lenient punishment.
Upon learning of the punishment, the girl actually breathed a sigh of relief and made a point of thanking Tierra once again.
There was no real gratitude, no Galleons, no small gifts, not even a dessert.
He only offered a verbal thank you, and then, in a pretentious manner, kissed Tiera on the forehead, causing Tiera to have to wash her face an average of three times every hour that day.
She really has no idea why she can only find a boyfriend by using love potions.
However, thanks to the prophecies of Harry and Gryffindor, Tyrell's reputation as a prophet was thoroughly established among young wizards, and every morning a bunch of young wizards would come to ask for prophecies.
Most are Gryffindor, but there are also some from other houses.
Although they weren't all from the same group, most of them were junior wizards who had recently encountered a series of misfortunes. Tyella only needed a simple glance to know what they were worried about. At the same time, based on the information he had collected, he selectively made prophecies for the few he was most confident about.
Every day before going to the restaurant for breakfast, he would ask George or Fred to look at the Marauder's Map.
Well, Dumbledore isn't at school, making it a good day for making prophecies.
"There's no time like the present," Tiera said casually when a girl asked him for a divination.
“I’m sorry, I still—” But suddenly, before she could finish speaking, Tyella paused—
He snatched the Galleon from the girl's hand, then stared blankly ahead, as if his soul had drifted away from his body.
“Tierra?” Harry held out his hand and waved it in front of Tierra’s eyes—
But Tierra still did not respond.
"Look, look!" a third-grade boy suddenly shouted from the crowd, "Look, Tyra is about to make another prophecy! Come and see!"
In a flash, all the students sitting around gathered around—
“Good heavens, this is different from before, he seems to have lost his soul,” some of the young wizards said.
“That’s right, he’s about to make a prophecy! When I was five, my mother took me to see a great prophet, and he was in the same state!” someone boasted.
“Not only that, I think he’s definitely going to make a big prophecy!” another young wizard said. “Something big is definitely going to happen at Hogwarts! I have the same feeling!”
"You? Give me a break!" a junior wizard who usually didn't get along with him sneered.
The people around her were chattering amongst themselves, no one cared about Tiera herself; they surrounded her as if she were a rare and exotic animal in a zoo.
Only Harry, Ron, and Hermione looked at Tierra with worried expressions. Harry even wanted to reach out and put his arm around Tierra's shoulder to shield her from the curious and speculative gazes of the other young wizards.
Suddenly, in full view of everyone, Tiera burst into tears—
Harry had never seen Tyrell cry.
Harry had never seen anyone cry with such despair and fear—
While crying, Tierra frantically pulled a piece of paper and a pen from her backpack and pushed the breakfast in front of her forward—
Tierra didn't even care that the remaining half cup of milk was spilled.
He leaned over the table and began to write rapidly—
Tierra first wrote her own name—
Then came Colin Clyde, Justin Finley, Hermione Granger…
Tierra wrote a total of twenty-six names—
This is basically a list of all the Muggle-born young wizards who attend Hogwarts.
After finishing writing, Tiera slammed the pen down on the table.
Then she stood up crying—
He didn't take the paper from the table, but ran quickly towards the restaurant door—
"Hey! Tyella! Wait, wait for me!" Harry tried to catch up—
But Harry was blocked by the crowd—
Everyone was pushing forward, everyone wanted to see what was written on the paper, and some even reached out to pick it up from the table.
But Hermione grabbed it first.
Tierra's figure disappeared from Harry's sight, vanishing at the entrance of the Great Hall.
