Chapter 166 Recruitment
When Aita Kandi stepped into that office on the Uwell campus a week later, Aita paused for a moment.

Aitakandi silently left the office, glancing at the door number—

A-212
It's Professor Gilderoy Lockhart's office, no doubt.

But the office was now vastly different from when she arrived a week earlier.

The original set of his own desk and chairs, along with a worn-out sofa and coffee table, had all disappeared, replaced by five neat, brand-new wooden desks.

Aitakandi could almost smell the fresh leaves and forest scent emanating from those gleaming desks.

Five desks were arranged loosely, two on the left and three on the right, creating an aisle in the middle of the office. A business card stood on the last desk on the right.

"Aitakandi".

It is clearly the location of Aitakandi.

There was also a computer, a fax machine, and a printer on it.

Next to Etakandi's desk is the door that leads to the inner room, which is Gidrow Lockhart's office.

Behind the last desk on the left stands a tall floor-standing bookshelf made of the same material.

The side of the bookshelf where the books are placed faces the door leading to the inner room. Between the bookshelf and the door, against the wall, is a small tea stove and a refrigerator.

Aitakandi stepped back into A-212, his feet landing on the soft carpet—

Aitakandi then noticed that the floor was covered with a carpet, a deep red background covered with golden flower-like patterns.

Luxurious, prestigious... and flamboyant—a rug from the Gilderoy Lockhart family.

And there's that Baroque-style chandelier overhead.

And so are the desks, chairs, and bookshelves—

Tiera only needs to place an office desk in the backyard of the Gilderoy Lockhart family, and then use the "parasite" to tamper with and restore the authority of life—

The wooden tables and chairs quickly regained their life and grew wildly in Gidrol Lockhart's back garden.

One becomes two, two become four, four become eight—

Then Tierra took fire and burned three of them, and the remaining five were moved here through the Gate of Light.

The bookshelf, also from Gilderoy Lockhart's house, was empty except for a thin, handwritten book.

The Necronomicon

This is a version copied by Tiera using her wand, with all spells, rituals, and alchemy removed.

Only descriptions and legends of the Outer Gods, Old Gods, Ancient Gods, Great Old Ones, Ancient Races, and Dreamlands that are harmless and insignificant are preserved.

“Professor Lockhart?” Ettacandy walked around the bookshelf and knocked on the door to the inner room.

"Ha, Miss Candy, is it?" Gilderoy Lohart's cheerful voice came from inside the house. "Please come in."

Aitakandi pushed open the door—

But then I wanted to quit.

Because Gidrow Lockhart's office was just too flashy—

The carpet is the same deep red color with gold flowers as the one outside.

In the center of the room was a large desk, and to the left of the desk was a large window.

There is a row of bookshelves on the right.

And on the wall behind the desk—

Hanging on the wall was a huge, gold-framed, half-length self-portrait of Gilderoy Lockhart—

In the self-portrait, Gilderoy Lockhart is dressed in a formal suit only medieval nobles would wear, holding something that looks like a wooden stick, and sporting the greasiest smile Etakandi had ever seen in his life—

This is the only self-portrait of Gidrolohart preserved by Tiera.

This is a brain-dead, rich dog—

Tiera made her judgment the moment she saw Etakandi.

“Mr. Lockhart.” But Etacandy still managed a smile. “Miss Candy, you’ve come at the perfect time—” Tiera said, “You must have seen the desk outside, haven’t you?”

“Yes, Mr. Lockhart,” Ettacandy said politely.

“Then you should realize what we’re going to do, right?” Tierra asked.

"You...are you hiring?" Aitakandi asked cautiously.

“Yes, Miss Candy!” Tierra said excitedly, “Our great journey to explore the strange and unknown ancient world is about to begin, and our discoveries will reveal a paradise-like civilization.”

Forgive my bluntness, but your professorship was bought.

Tiera saw what Etakandi was thinking, but he didn't care.

Since he dared to buy it, he was prepared to be scolded.

Anyway, he plays the role of a foolish, rich dog. All he has to do is pay people to do the work and then follow them around to reap the rewards.

“So I have a task for you.” Tierra took out a job posting he had written a long time ago, walked around from behind his desk and handed it to Etakandi. “Please help me revise this job posting and then post it.”

Aitakandi picked it up and read it page by page—

One data processor: No specific educational background required, but familiarity with big data estimation methods and maximum likelihood estimation algorithms is required.

The base salary for the above positions is £1,600 per year, with bonuses and benefits to be discussed during the interview.

We are also recruiting several security guards: no educational requirements, but candidates must have served in combat, killed people, been imprisoned, or committed crimes; possess outstanding physical strength; and be able to carry at least one person on long-distance treks and in the wild for survival. Salary negotiable.

“Excuse my bluntness, Mr. Lockhart,” Ettacandy said, patting the papers in his hand after reading them, “what exactly is our research project?”

“This is it, Miss Candy.” Tierra, her eyes gleaming with fervor, pulled a roll of parchment from a drawer and spread it out on the large desk—

It was a simple line drawing made with an unknown ink.

Even though it is so simple and abstract, Aitakandi still reveals itself to be a magnificent city.

Nearby are towering, straight, and strangely shaped skyscrapers, while in the distance, the setting sun casts its last rays, and oddly shaped ships are moored in the harbor.

Among the skyscrapers are creatures so strange they far exceed human imagination.

Those creatures that seem to exist only in hell or in the deepest dreams of humankind.

Standing on high ground, the painter used vigorous and powerful brushstrokes to depict a magnificent city that should only exist in imagination—

This is the only notebook in all of Merlin's notebooks that is entirely composed of drawings.

Kadas of Dreams!

“Cadas of Dreams!” Tiera exclaimed excitedly. “I have reason to believe that the interface between this dreamlike city and the real world lies in Central Asia.”

Yes, Tiera is going to the Dreamland.

madman!

Tiera heard Aitakandi mutter these words in his mind.

But finally, Aitakandi's lips moved slightly, and then he said—

“Okay, Mr. Lockhart, I’ll go and publish it right away.”
