Chapter 173 The Trial Chamber

Chapter 173 The Trial Chamber

The process of confirming an adoption is very simple.

Sign the adoption certification documents and establish an unbreakable bond.

Then it was the Ministry of Magic's turn to do the work: change internal documents, specifically changing Tierra Witch's name to Tierra Witch Lockhart.

Then cancel Tierra's annual orphan allowance.

Of course, only the first two requirements were that "Gidrolohart" and Tierra be present, so the adoption process was quickly completed.

But Tierra wanted it to be longer.

This was the first time Tiera had had such a childlike thought since she had transmigrated.

Unfortunately, objective facts do not change according to human will.

What's meant to happen will happen eventually.

Tiera now finally understands what it means for good to be rewarded and evil to be punished; it's not that retribution won't come, it's just that the time hasn't arrived yet.

His retribution has come.

But I'm sorry, I'll do it again next time.

After leaving the Legal Enforcement Division, another long and awkward elevator ride ensued.

Because they need to go from the Department of Magical Law Enforcement on the second basement level, through the Department of Magical Accidents and Disasters on the third basement level, the Department of Magical Creatures Management and Control on the fourth basement level, the Department of International Magical Cooperation on the fifth basement level, the Department of Magical Transportation on the sixth basement level, the Department of Magical Sports on the seventh basement level, the main hall on the eighth basement level, and then down the elevator from the Department of Mysteries on the ninth basement level—

It was a long and awkward experience. Dolores Umbridge kept asking questions and trying to curry favor, and Tyella had to play along. By the time the elevator finally arrived, Tyella and "Giddy Lohart" were practically digging two sets of Ministry of Magic out of their toes.

"Gidro Lockhart" stepped out of the elevator, while Tiera's true form was left inside in despair—

“Hehehe, look at this child, how reluctant he is to part with you,” Umbridge said with a laugh. Just as Tiera was about to follow “Gidrolockhart” out, Umbridge reached out and gave Tiera a sharp tug—

“Then I’ll take Mr. Lockhart upstairs first,” Umbridge said, gripping Tiera’s hand tightly. “Goodbye!”

The elevator's metal railings are closed.

"Hehe, it seems you get along very well with our little genius Tierra." Dumbledore said with a smile as he waited for Gilderoy Lockhart in the hall of the Department of Mysteries. "He has always been a strong and independent child, and has rarely relied on anyone like this."

Then Dumbledore said, somewhat disappointed:

“I’ve talked to him several times, but he’s still cold to me.”

Gilderoy Lockhart gave Dumbledore an awkward yet polite smile, without saying a word.

Because on the other side, Gilderoy Lockhart had just left and was still in the elevator when Dolores Umbridge had already started offering a sweet treat after the slap—

While pinching Tierra's wrist hard with her hand, she forced a sweet smile and told Tierra in a high-pitched, childish voice that she should be good and that "Auntie" would give her candy if she was good.

Tiera could only feign compliance while silently praying in her heart:

"Dog shit, dog shit, dog shit, dog shit, dog shit..."

In case he couldn't help himself and started a fight at the Ministry of Magic, thus ruining the second phase of the entire plan.

So when Gilderoy Lockhart shook hands with Dumbledore and the enthusiastic Cornelius Fudge, he simply smiled and didn't say anything more.

Tierra was afraid that she might accidentally blurt out "shit" in front of the Minister of Magic and the greatest White Mage in history.

Fortunately, Dumbledore, Cornelius Fudge, and "Giddy Lohart" didn't exchange many pleasantries and quickly got to the point—

“I’m so sorry, Mr. Lockhart, and Professor Dumbledore,” Cornelius Fudge said after descending a spiraling staircase made of rough stone and burning torches to the tenth underground level. “We’re afraid we’ll have to leave our wands here.”

As he spoke, Cornelius Fudge drew his wand from his waist and handed it to an old woman with white hair sitting at the entrance to the tenth floor.

The old woman carefully put the wand into a locked box and placed it on the cabinet next to the front door.

Dumbledore did as she was told. “My wand is broken,” Tierra said to Gilderoy Lockhart. “I haven’t had time to buy a new one.”

The old woman nodded, but then took out the metal instrument that Tyella had seen at the inspection desk in the Department of Magic, and scanned "Gidro Lockhart" back and forth before letting "Gidro Lockhart" in.

After entering the trial chamber, Cornelius Fudge led Dumbledore and Gilderoy Lockhart for a while, then to the tenth trial chamber, then to the first trial chamber, and then past the first trial chamber. After walking for a while, they came to a solid brick wall.

Cornelius Fudge tapped a few bricks on the brick wall with his finger—

The brick wall splits open in two directions, revealing a narrow passageway that can only accommodate one person at a time.

Connelly Fudge was the first to lift his leg and walk into the passage.

Then there's Dumbledore and "Giddy Lohart".

After entering the passage, they crossed another waterfall—

It has the same anti-theft waterfall as the Gringotts underground vault, which can wash away all traces of magic.

Cornelius Fudge passed first, then Dumbledore.

After Dumbledore passed through, he stood still, quietly looking at Gilderoy Lockhart.

"Gidrolohart" entered the Anti-theft Waterfall and then came out again, without any change in his appearance.

Tyella, of course, knew what Dumbledore was looking at.

Although Tyella offered a perfect explanation, completely absolving herself of any blame and shifting the main responsibility onto Voldemort while placing minor blame on Lockhart.

But Tyella also knew that Dumbledore, that old fox, would certainly not completely believe Gilderoy Lockhart's story, and even the combined effects of Truth Potion and Legilimency were not 100% reliable.

Therefore, Tyella guessed that Dumbledore's probing was inevitable.

However, Tierra accepted all offers.

He's a powerful "parasite," having devoured top-tier magical items gifted by Shubnigs. If he can't even withstand this little trick—

Isn't that the most ridiculous thing in the world?
After passing through the Thief's Fall, Dumbledore lowered his gaze and continued onward.

After walking for a while, Cornelius stopped in front of a lonely, dilapidated wooden door.

"Knock, knock, knock."

Cornell Fudge knocked on the wooden door three times, with his fingers pointing to both ends.

The sound of a lock clicking as it was opened seemed to come from inside the wooden door—

The wooden door then swung open, revealing the interior of a stone fortress on the other side.

……

Meanwhile, at the British Ministry of Magic.

Tiera had been dragged by Umbridge into Umbridge's office in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement on the second basement floor.

During this time, Tiera tried several times to slip away into the crowd, but Umbridge grabbed her back fiercely each time, leaving her helpless to watch as she was dragged into Umbridge's office.

Then he watched helplessly as Umbridge locked the door and made herself a cup of black tea that must have been sickeningly sweet.

“Mr. Lockhart.” Umbridge sat in her chair, the short wand in her hand—

“You’re a Muggle-born second-year student, I doubt you know the most wonderful thing about magic—” Umbridge subtly turned the tip of her wand toward Tiera, and then said:
"That means even if you use Legilimency on a small child, you can erase all traces afterward with a simple act of forgetting everything."

“Now, Mr. Lockhart…” Umbridge pointed her wand directly at Tiera and said, “Come on, let me see, let me see what lies and secrets you know about Gilderoy Lockhart, about Voldemort.”
