Chapter 199 Confront Your Fears

Professor Lupin's wand shot out a burst of sparks, which struck the handle of the wardrobe door.

The first one to go on stage was, of course, Neville.

Another cracking sound rang out, and where Snape had stood was now a mummy wrapped in bandages and stained with blood. Its blind eyes turned to Parvati, and it began to walk towards her, very slowly, dragging its feet, its stiff arms raised—

“Hilarious! Hilarious!” Parvati exclaimed.

The mummy's bandages came undone, and it stumbled and fell face-first to the ground, its head rolling off.

"Simo!" Professor Lupin called out to each of them.

Simo hurriedly stepped past Parvati and went forward.

"Thud!" The spot where the mummy had been now occupied by a woman, her black hair trailing on the ground, her face nothing but skeleton, and it was eerie—

A female ghost. Her mouth was wide open. An inhuman sound filled the room, a long, mournful scream that sent chills down everyone's spine—

“Hilarious! Hilarious!” Simon exclaimed.

The female ghost made a tearing sound, grabbed her own throat, and then her voice stopped.

*Snap!* The female ghost turned into a mouse, spinning around looking for its tail, and then—

"Snap!" It transformed back into a rattlesnake, slithering and twisting, and then—

"Snap!" It turned into a bloody eyeball again.

"It's gone mad!" Professor Lupin exclaimed. "We've taken another step forward, Dean!"

Dean quickly stepped forward.

"Snap!" The eyeball turned into a severed hand, which hopped and hopped along the floor like a crab.

“Hilarious! Hilarious!” Dean shouted.

With a sharp crack, the hand was caught in a mousetrap.

"That's brilliant! Ron, you're next!"

Ron leaped forward.

The spider kept rolling around, and Lavender Brown screamed and dodged away.

The spider twisted its body again, leaped into the air, and transformed into a constantly shifting cloud of black mist—

A minute passed—

Bogut continued to change shape in mid-air.

“Hmm,” Professor Lupin said, “Everyone, step back a little more.”

Then the whole class took a step back—

But Boggart remained unchanged—Tiera knew that it was his own mental walls that were holding him back.

With another thirty seconds about to pass—

Tierra decided that she should change something—

Tiera revealed something from within her mental walls—suddenly, the light in the entire teachers' lounge dimmed, as if dusk had fallen in an instant.

Boggart transformed into a massive black cauldron, seemingly situated in the very center of a cemetery, surrounded by damp earth and distant, illusory, jagged tombstones.

The stew pot was bubbling with milky white broth, while a roaring fire burned underneath.

Suddenly the flames under the stew pot went out, and the milky white broth and the black stew pot exploded, turning into a thick cloud of black fog.

Tierra's face suddenly contorted with terror, his body trembling uncontrollably, and his wand slipped from his grasp—

A gaunt, deformed baby rose from the thick, dark fog.

The deformed baby screamed in mid-air, stretching and deforming into a tall, thin, skeletal man—

The surrounding black smoke settled on him, transforming into a loose, silky black robe, as smooth as Dove chocolate.

The man began to examine his own body.

His hands were like pale, large spiders, with long, thin, pale fingers stroking his chest, arms, and face.

Those red eyes shone even brighter in the darkness, a deep, gleaming red, with pupils that were like two slits, like the eyes of a snake.

Where the nose should be, there are only two slits, like a two-hole socket.

He raised his hands, wiggled his fingers, his expression one of ecstatic elation, a cruel smile on his face.

Even Lupin was stunned, seemingly completely unprepared for this situation.
