Harry Potter and the Great Old Ones
Chapter 21 Lovely Peter
Chapter 21 Lovely Peter
"Then you must have learned a lot of magic?" Harry asked curiously. He noticed that Tyrell seemed lost in thought and had entered a daze, so he had to ask her himself.
This Weasley family must be the magical family that the pale-faced boy he and Tierra met at Flourish and Blotts mentioned.
“I heard you ended up living with the Muggles,” Ron said. “How are they? Dad says Muggles are a really nice and funny bunch.”
"They're awful. Of course, not everyone is like that; the others are quite nice, but my aunt, uncle, and cousin are just awful. I wish I had a few wizard brothers."
“Five,” Ron said, sounding somewhat displeased for some reason. “I’m the sixth in my family to go to Hogwarts. You could say I should look up to them. Bill and Charlie have already graduated. Bill is the head of the boys’ council, and Charlie is the captain of the Quidditch team. Percy is now a prefect, and Fred and George, though mischievous, are top students. Everyone thinks they’re fascinating and hopes I can be like them. But then again, if I could, it wouldn’t be a big deal, since they did it before me. If you have five older brothers, you never get to use anything new. I wear Bill’s old robes, use Charlie’s old wand, and have the mice Percy threw away.”
Inferiority complex personality.
Tiera instantly realized that although he was in a daze, he was still aware of everything around him.
In fact, the Weasleys are a perfect subject for family psychology research.
From Charlie, Bill, Percy, and the twins George Fred to Ron, all are boys with the same parents and similar upbringing, yet the brothers have completely different personalities.
He didn't know Charlie and Bill very well, but they seemed to be the gentle older brother type; Percy was power-hungry; George Fred was creative and exploratory, good at research and development; while Ron, although intelligent, rarely had his own opinions and had an inferiority complex and a people-pleasing personality, which may be related to the fact that he was the youngest son in the family and lacked attention from a young age.
Unfortunately, Tierra's major was not psychology. He only took a few psychology-related electives during his university years, and he slept through most of those classes. Otherwise, he could have published an article in the core journal Acta Psychologica Sinica just by studying the Weasley family.
As Ron spoke, he reached into his inner pocket and pulled out a fat, gray mouse that was sleeping. “Its name is Scabbers. It’s useless now, always sleeping. My dad gave Percy an owl after he became prefect, but they couldn’t afford it… I mean, Percy gave me the mouse.”
Ron's ears turned red. He seemed to realize he had talked too much, so he looked out the window again.
Tierra's eyes lit up when she saw Ron pull out Banban.
Oh right, how could I forget Peter Pettigrew, that adorable little guy?
After the Animagus transforms, does their DNA become animal DNA? Or does it only change their appearance to resemble an animal while retaining human DNA? If Peter Pettigrew, in the form of a mouse, mates with other female mice—exchanging ancestral chromosomes—would there be reproductive isolation between them? Would the offspring be mouse cubs? Human babies? Or perhaps a half-human, half-beast monster?
What will the DNA of the offspring look like? Will the offspring exhibit completely human traits? Or completely mouse traits? Or both?
Will some new traits emerge?
All of this was so worthwhile.
Tierra's gaze toward Peter Pettigrew, who was perched on Ron's lap, grew increasingly intense.
Peter Pettigrew, still fast asleep, seemed to sense Tyella's gaze, filled with curiosity and a thirst for knowledge, and shivered.
“I…can I touch your mouse?” Tierra asked Ron longingly.
“I don’t like birds, but I’ve always wanted to have a mouse as a pet,” Tierra said.
“Of course.” Although Ron found it strange that anyone would want to touch his fat, bald rat, he still generously handed Spot to Tierra.
Banban had just woken up when she found herself being held by a strange child.
Just a little wizard… Thinking this, Peter Pettigrew gradually relaxed, letting Tyella give him a comfortable massage. Years of maintaining a rat-like form had somewhat affected Peter Pettigrew's perception.
Although his past memories and personality remained, over time, Little Pettigrew's behavior became more and more like that of a real mouse.
So when Tiera took a small, sweet-smelling dumpling the size of a soybean from the box and held it to his lips, he swallowed it without hesitation.
The thing that looked like a small candy bean actually had a pungent, fishy smell.
Normal mice would really like this fishy smell.
But Little Pettigrew was so stimulated by the fishy smell that he almost jumped up.
"What is this?" Seeing Tierra feeding her rats, Ron couldn't help but ask.
“A tonic,” Tierra replied casually. “A medicine invented by Muggles that can extend the lifespan of mice.”
"Really?" Ron asked excitedly.
“Really,” Tierra said. “Anyway, I can guarantee you, you rat, will live to see the seventh book.”
As Peter jumped up, Tiera easily pushed him back down.
The original recipe for this pill comes from a curse he created on the Hybolt Slate to tame a ferocious serpent.
By combining one's own blood with a spell and feeding it to snakes, even the fiercest python can become as docile as a kitten.
Hypor did not name the drug, so Tierra called it Hypor pills.
Based on the Hybol Pill, Merlin added snakebone flower, the root of the sunflower, and mercury, allowing the pill to have a wide range of effects on other magical creatures.
This is also the key to Merlin's legend of being able to tame the fire dragon.
Almost all dragons are inherently irritable and restless; even the most intelligent Swiss Short-nosed Dragon cannot be tamed like a cat or dog.
Only by inflicting sufficiently deep psychological trauma on these brutal creatures with greater violence can they be exploited.
Soon, Peter Pettigrew stopped struggling in Tyella's hands and instead lay down on her lap as if he were asleep.
"Tiera!" Ron panicked when he saw Scabbers lying listlessly on Tiera's lap.
"Does your Muggle pill really work?" Ron asked. This rat had been in their house for ten years. Although Ron disliked the pet, he still had deep feelings for the rat. It was his friend, second only to his family.
"Don't worry, it'll definitely work." Tierra herself wasn't sure. "If anything happens, I'll buy you an owl."
"Oh, okay then." Ron suddenly felt relieved, and even hoped that something would happen to Bambi.
