Harry Potter and the Great Old Ones

Chapter 293 Beauxbatons Enters

Chapter 293 Beauxbatons Enters
“It’s almost six,” Ron said, glancing at his watch and looking at the driveway leading to the front door. “How do you think they’ll get here? By train?”

"I don't think so," said Hermione.

“How will they get here? By flying broomstick?” Harry looked up. “It’s almost six,” Ron glanced at his watch, looking at the driveway leading to the front door, and said, “How do you think they’ll get here? By train?”

"I don't think so," said Hermione.

"How does it come about? With a flying broomstick?" Harry looked up at the starry sky and guessed.

"I don't think so...from such a far place..."

“A door key?” Ron guessed. “Or maybe they can apparite, or perhaps in their place, apparition is allowed for people under seventeen?”

"How many times do I have to tell you that you can't Apparate on Hogwarts grounds?" Hermione said impatiently.

“I remember Beauxbatons flew over, while Durmstrang swam over,” Tierra said.

They excitedly scanned the gradually darkening area, but there was no movement.

Everything was silent and peaceful, just like any other day.

Just then, Dumbledore, who was standing in the back row with the other teachers, shouted—

"Ah! If I'm not mistaken, Beauxbatons' representative has arrived!"

"Where is it?" many students asked eagerly, looking in different directions.

"There!" a sharp-eyed sixth-grade student shouted, pointing to the sky above the Forbidden Forest.

A colossal creature, much larger than a flying broom—or a hundred flying brooms—was rapidly skimming across the deep blue sky, flying toward the castle, growing ever larger.

"It's a dragon!" a first-year student screamed, too excited to know what to do.

“Don’t talk nonsense…it’s a house flying!” said Colin Crevy’s brother, Danis Crevy.

Dennis's guess is closer to the truth.

As the enormous, dark creature swept through the treetops of the Forbidden Forest and was illuminated by the lights from the castle windows, they saw a huge, powder-blue carriage flying toward them.

It was as big as a house, and twelve winged horses pulled it through the air. They were all silver-maned horses, each about the size of an elephant.

The carriage flew even lower, descending at an incredible speed. The students in the first three rows hurriedly retreated, and then—

A deafening roar startled Neville, who jumped back and stepped on the foot of a fifth-year Slytherin student.

The horseshoes thudded onto the ground, each one as big as a plate.

In the blink of an eye, the carriage landed on the ground, shaking on its huge wheels, while the golden horses shook their enormous heads, their fiery red eyes darting around.

A coat of arms was imprinted on the carriage door—

It consists of two golden, crossed wands, each with three stars emanating from it.

The carriage door opened, and a boy in a light blue robe jumped down, bent down, and groped around on the carriage floor before opening a golden spiral staircase.

He jumped back respectfully, and then a gleaming black high heel emerged from the carriage—

This shoe is about the size of a child's sled—

A woman followed closely behind, her size unlike anything any Hogwarts student had ever seen.

Thus, it becomes clear why the carriage and those silver-maned horses were so large.

The group gasped in shock.

The woman had slowly and gracefully reached the bottom of the steps and was turning around to look at the crowd of people who were waiting with wide eyes—

This made her seem even more bizarrely large. When she stepped into the light shining from the foyer, everyone noticed that she had a very pretty olive-colored face, a pair of large, dark, watery eyes, and a very pointed nose.

Her hair was combed back and tied into a shiny bun at the base of her neck.

She was dressed from head to toe in a black satin garment, and her neck and large fingers were adorned with many exquisite opals.

Dumbledore began to clap, and the students joined in, many standing on tiptoe to get a better look at the woman.

Her face relaxed, a graceful smile bloomed on her lips, and she extended a shimmering hand toward Dumbledore.

Although Dumbledore was also tall, he hardly bent over when he kissed this hand.

“Dear Mrs. Maxim,” Dumbledore said cheerfully, “Welcome to Hogwarts.”

“Mr. Dumbledore,” Mrs. Maxime said in a low voice, “I hope you are well.”

“Very good, thank you,” Dumbledore said.

“My student,” Mrs. Maxim said, gesturing casually behind her with a large hand, “I’ve also brought an old friend of yours with me this time. I hope you don’t mind.”

About forty or fifty boys and girls had alighted from the carriage and were now standing behind Mrs. Maxim. Most of them appeared to be between seventeen and nineteen years old, but there were also a few children between twelve and sixteen, all trembling slightly.

This is not surprising, as their robes appear to be made of fine silk, and none of them are wearing cloaks.

Several students, their heads wrapped in scarves or headscarves, stood in the huge shadow cast by Madam Maxim, looking up at Hogwarts with wary expressions.

At the very end of the group of students, a frail, thin figure emerged from the carriage—

The figure was wearing a pale white dress, and its body seemed to be made of metal, making a creaking sound as it walked.

The most peculiar thing was the head of the figure, which was a round crystal ball. Inside the crystal ball was a face that looked as old as a zombie, and a pale white wig symbolically sat on the crystal ball.

The wig didn't seem to hold the smooth crystal ball very well, and the figure had to frequently reach out and push the wig up to prevent it from falling off.

"Lemay!" Dumbledore called out happily, opening his arms to hug the gaunt figure. "Why didn't you tell me you were coming?"

“Lemay!” Hermione, standing next to Thiella, whispered to Thiella, “Is that Nick Lemay?”

“It was just a spur-of-the-moment thing,” Nicholas Flamel stammered. “After hugging Dumbledore, I glanced into the crowd behind him—”

"Aha!" Nickleme exclaimed, glancing through the eyes in the crystal ball toward Dumbledore's back—

“Tierra!” Nicholas Lemaître waved and said, “Long time no see, Tierra! I’ve come to see you—”

"Cough!" Dumbledore coughed heavily, then quietly stuck out his foot and kicked Nicholas Lemaître hard—

"Ah—!" The metal structure supporting the crystal ball collapsed instantly, turning into metal rods—

The crystal ball fell to the ground instantly, bouncing and rolling until it reached Tiera's feet.

“Grandpa Lemaître…” Thierra picked up the crystal ball and asked, “Did you finally die and then put your soul inside the crystal ball?”

"Oh, no, it's not." Inside the crystal ball, Nicholas Lemaire pushed back, gradually revealing the rest of his body and his experimental table—

“To be honest, I’ve actually missed you since you left,” Nicholas Lema said. “So I decided on a whim to come see you and also to watch the once-in-a-century Triwizard Tournament. To be honest, the last time I watched this tournament was on my 330th birthday.”

"Can I stay at your alchemy hut for a while longer?" Tierra asked innocently. "I miss Master Lemaître very much—"

"Get out," Nicholas Lema said with a fake smile.
