Chapter 333 Awakening
"Welcome, two brave warriors!"

When Tyrell and Harry entered the Gryffindor common room, all the young wizards gathered there cheered almost simultaneously.

Li Qiaodan set off some hard-fire fireworks, and many stars and sparks flashed in the air.

Dean Thomas, who is skilled at drawing, hung up several eye-catching new banners, most of which depicted Harry punching the Hungarian Tree-Peak Dragon.

The largest banner featured a giant meteorite.

And below, the tiny Tierra.

Tierra smiled and joined Harry in the celebration.

Harry seemed to be starving; he grabbed a piece of cake and started eating.

No wonder, ever since Harry learned that he had been chosen as a champion in the Triwizard Tournament, he has been so preoccupied with the project that he has lost his appetite and sleep, fearing that he might die during the competition.

Now that he was relaxed, Harry suddenly felt hungry and began to wolf down his food.

Tierra also picked up a piece of cake and slowly began to eat it.

"My goodness, they're quite heavy." Li Jordan said, holding one of the golden eggs that Harry and Tierra had placed on the table, weighing them in his hand.

"Quick, open it, Harry! Let's see what's inside!" George and Fred said hastily.

“He should solve the clues himself…” Hermione quickly said, “The tournament rules stipulate— um—”

Before Hermione could finish speaking, Tyrell moved Hermione a little further away and cast a "deafening" spell on both of them.

why?
A look of doubt flashed in Hermione's eyes.

You'll see when you look.

Tierra's voice suddenly appeared in Hermione's mind.

"Quick! Quick! Quick, Harry, open it!" The other Gryffindors responded.

Li Jordan handed the golden egg to Harry, who used his fingernails to pry it open by digging into the grooves around the egg.

It was empty inside; there was nothing there.

But the moment Harry opened it, an extremely terrifying, piercing scream filled the entire room.

Even though Tyra Hermin was already under the influence of the "deafening" spell, she could still vaguely feel something like sharp spikes pounding against her eardrums.

Harry had only heard a noise like it before, at Nearly Headless Nick's Deathday party, when a ghost band played a musical saw.

"Turn it off! Turn it off!" Fred shouted, covering his ears with his hands.

Harry slammed the golden egg shut.

“What, what is that?” Simon Finnigan asked, staring at the golden egg. “It sounds like a ghost… Harry, you might have to walk past a ghost next time!”

“It sounds like someone is being tortured!” Neville said—

His face turned deathly pale, and he scattered sausage meat all over the ground. "What you're dealing with is the Crucifixion Curse!"

“Don’t talk nonsense, Neville, that’s illegal,” George retorted. “They can’t cast the Crucifixion on a champion. I think it sounds a bit like Percy singing…maybe you’ll attack him while he’s showering, Harry.”

After Harry closed the golden egg, Tyrell tapped her own ear, then tapped Hermione's ear.

Their hearing gradually returned.

“What is that?” Hermione asked.

“The mermaid’s song,” Tierra said.

"The mermaid's song?" Hermione asked, puzzled.

“Oh, I misspoke, sorry, that was the song of a mermaid,” Tierra explained. “The second event of our competition is to retrieve our precious treasure from the mermaids who live in the Black Lake, and we only have one hour.” “How did you know?” Hermione asked.

Tierra didn't answer, but smiled and scratched her right eye.

“Oh, okay, but I didn’t ask.” Hermione rolled her eyes helplessly. “Being a seer is so convenient.”

"Hey, Hermione! Hey! And Tyella! Our warriors! This is especially for you!" At that moment, George and Fred walked over, carrying a plate in their hands. On the plate was a spherical cake that looked like a meteorite—

"Have a taste!" George and Fred said, winking at each other. "This is specially prepared for you! To celebrate our Tiera summoning a meteor in today's match!"

“I don’t know if you noticed Dumbledore’s expression at the time, but it was absolutely priceless!” George Fred said.

“This cake…” Hermione looked at the plate he handed her with some suspicion.

"Hehe..." Fred grinned.

“Don’t worry,” he said. “I didn’t do anything to them. You need to be careful with the egg and milk cookies—”

Neville had just taken a bite of the egg and milk biscuit when he heard this, and he choked and spat it out.

George and Fred burst into laughter.

"I was just joking, Neville..."

Hermione watched Tyella cut the cake with her wand, then asked, "Did you get all this from the kitchen, Fred?"

“Yes,” Fred said, grinning at her.

He forced out a high-pitched, shrill voice, mimicking a house-elf: "'We can prepare everything for you, sir, anything!' They're so kind... As soon as I say I'm a little hungry, they'll roast a cow for me."

"How did you get in?" Hermione asked in a nonchalant tone.

“It’s very convenient,” Fred said. “There’s a door hidden behind the painting of a bowl of fruit. Just give the pear a gentle scratch, and it will giggle and laugh, and then—”

George nudged Fred, who immediately stopped talking and looked at her warily. "What's wrong?"

"It's nothing," Hermione said calmly, then took the cake Tyrell handed her and silently took a bite.

Even without using her "spying" magic, Tyrell could sense the strange emotions churning within Hermione.

After taking a few bites of the cake Tierra offered, Hermione took a deep breath.

“Isn’t this exploitation?” Hermione asked. “It should be time for the house-elves to rest after a long day, but they have to get up and work again because of some trivial entertainment needs of ours.”

“Yes, exploitation is everywhere,” Tierra said. “And we usually have a technical term for this: 996.”

“You should have known all this already,” Tierra said.

“No, there are some things I don’t know,” Hermione said compassionately. “Sometimes, mental exploitation is far more terrible than physical exploitation.”

"How so?" Tierra asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Those house-elves are being exploited, yet they speak up for those who exploit them and see this system of exploitation as a blessing,” Hermione said, then looked firmly at Tyella. “Thank you, Tyella, thank you for making me realize how shallow and foolish I was before.”

“It’s not enough to just liberate the bodies of house-elves. After we’ve defeated the capitalists, we also need to liberate their minds,” Hermione said, then stood next to Tierra and looked at the cheering crowd in the Gryffindor common room. “We should liberate the minds of everyone, not just house-elves, but also those outdated, feudal ideas that exist in the minds of wizards.”

Tierra: ...

Hermione's awareness is a tiny bit higher...
