Harry Potter and the Great Old Ones

Chapter 411 Hermione's Political Awareness

Chapter 411 Hermione's Political Awareness

Time flew by and it was time for the start of the school year. On the same day that they received the book purchase order, Ron and Hermione also received their prefect badges.

"Prefect?" Fred gasped in surprise.

"Prefect?" He stared incredulously at the letter in Ron's hand and the medal that Percy had once possessed, and said somewhat, "Prefect?"

George rushed forward, snatched the envelope from Ron's other hand, and turned it upside down. Harry saw something red and gold fall into George's palm. "Impossible," George said in a low voice.

“There must be a mistake,” Fred said, snatching the letter from Ron’s hand and holding it up in the light as if to check the watermark.

"Who in their right mind would choose Ron as prefect?" The twins turned their heads in unison, all four eyes fixed on Harry.

“We thought it was definitely you! I mean, I thought we were finally going to see Tyrell’s prophecy fail for once,” Fred said, sounding as if Harry had somehow deceived them.

“We thought Dumbledore would definitely choose you!” George said indignantly. “You won the Triwizard Tournament and did so much!” Fred said.

“I suspect it was those outlandish things he said that dragged him down,” George said to Fred.

“Yeah,” Fred said slowly. “Yeah, you’ve caused way too much trouble, man. Hey, at least one of you got priority from them.”

“Hmm…” Harry said listlessly, just then—

"Deng deng deng-"

"Bam—"

Hermione rushed up the stairs in a hurry, then pushed open the door and went inside.

"You received it too!" Hermione exclaimed as soon as she entered the room, looking at Ron and the medal in his hand. "You really did receive it too!"

As she spoke, Hermione also pulled a medal of the same design from her pocket—

It is the medal of the Gryffindor prefect.

“Harry, the prophecy!” Hermione then turned to Harry. “Quickly, get out Tyella’s prophecy. Another one of her prophecies has come true!”

“Oh…okay…” Harry said, taking a neatly folded piece of paper from the inside pocket of his shirt and carefully unfolding it—

Normally, Hermione would be in charge of keeping these paper documents, because only she would read them carefully. If Harry or Ron had them, neither of them would even bother to read them.

However, considering the special nature of Tyrell's will, Hermione wisely refrained from asking Harry for it at the end of the school year and instead let Harry keep it.

“Look, Harry, look!” Hermione said, pointing to the second page of Tyrell’s Testament, the eighth prophecy—

“Look! Tyella congratulated Ron and me on becoming prefects in the prophecy!” Hermione exclaimed. “That prophecy has come true!”

“There’s a second one: the attack on Harry by the Dementors was also predicted by Tierra!” Hermione said. “But…”

"But what does it mean to learn to distinguish between dreams and reality?" Ron leaned closer and asked, puzzled.

“And there are Death Eaters escaping,” Hermione said. “There’s no news yet of any Death Eaters escaping…which means there will definitely be a Death Eater breakout in the future!”

“It’s also possible that they’ve already escaped but the Ministry of Magic hasn’t reported it,” Ron said. “Dad’s been complaining lately… He says that ever since Yela announced Voldemort’s return a few months ago, the Ministry of Magic has become increasingly opaque, and Minister Fudge keeps giving the Daily Prophet all sorts of strange gag orders.”

“Hmm…that’s possible.” Hermione nodded in agreement, then continued—

“Look, there’s this one too, the third one. Tierra said a pink old toad will appear at Hogwarts, and… and that they’ll send kitten spies to spy on Hogwarts… What does that mean?” “Maybe it refers to some dangerous magical creature?” Ron said.

“Don’t be silly, Ron!” Hermione rolled her eyes and said, “It’s just a metaphor. Tyella is clearly talking about a person.”

“Compared to…what?” Ron asked.

“A metaphor,” Hermione repeated.

"My goodness, Ron!" Hermione exclaimed when she saw Ron's still puzzled look. "A metaphor! Don't you know what a metaphor is?"

“What is a metaphor?” Ron asked, puzzled.

“Good heavens, Ron!” Hermione exclaimed in surprise. “You used it yourself, didn’t you? In your first year, you said Snape looked like his wife had been stolen. In your second year, you said Snape walked like a big bat. In your third year, you said Snape’s hair looked like seaweed. And this year, at the beginning of the year, you said Snape’s nose could be used as a hook if turned upside down.”

“That’s a metaphor, Ron,” Hermione said.

“Oh… that’s a metaphor…” Ron said with a sudden realization, and George and Fred, who were sitting cross-legged next to Ron, nodded in agreement.

"Haven't you learned this before?" Hermione asked curiously. "How do you know how to use it?"

“No…” Ron said, “you just learn to use it naturally.”

"Didn't you teach that in elementary school?" Hermione asked, puzzled.

"What is primary school?" Ron asked, puzzled.

“Good heavens!” Hermione exclaimed again, “You didn’t go to primary school? What were you doing before you enrolled at Hogwarts?”

“Hmm…we play…” Ron said, “Oh right, Mom will also teach us to read…”

"Oh my God!" This was the fourth time Hermione had said "Oh my God" today, but she clearly wasn't going to delve any further into the matter. Instead, she stopped the conversation and pulled a stack of thick brown paper from a small pouch at her waist, placing it in front of Harry.

"What, what is this?" Harry asked in surprise.

“Oh, this?” Hermione said proudly, then ran her hand through her hair. “A seamless extension pouch… I took the opportunity to learn the Seamless Extension Charm at Black’s house this summer, and then tried making one myself, and it actually worked—”

“No, Hermione,” Ron said, rolling his eyes. “I think Harry means, what are these parchments?”

As he spoke, Ron picked it up and quickly glanced through it—

The screen was filled with words like "capital," "revolution," and "monopoly," which made Ron dizzy.

“Clearly, the Ministry of Magic does not agree with Dumbledore’s educational reforms,” Hermione said seriously. “So I suspect that the Ministry of Magic might send a commissioner to Hogwarts after we start school to obstruct Dumbledore’s reforms.”

“And these…” Harry took the stack of parchment from Ron and began to look through them.

“Actually, Tyrael… cough, he brought up this idea with me last semester,” Hermione said. “He also thinks that Hogwarts’ current education is too outdated… so he brought up a similar theory with me a long time ago… What I mean is that we might spontaneously form an organization from the perspective of us students, gather the majority of students, support Dumbledore’s educational reforms as students, and remove obstacles to Dumbledore’s reforms.”

“Then this…” Harry asked.

“This…” Hermione paused for a moment before saying, “In Tyella’s words, this is the basic tenet of our organization.”
