Chapter 556 Negotiations Collapse
Chapter 556 Negotiations Collapse
"Impossible!" Selju Surik, Director of International Affairs at the Magical Institute of America, roared at the negotiating table, slamming his hand down so hard that his cup overturned, spilling tea all over the table. "Who do you think you are? Do you think you can take over the Magical Institute of America?"
Serjusulik was a tall, thin, white man in his fifties with a refined appearance. He had thinning hair and wore thick-rimmed black glasses, but his eyes were piercing and hawk-like as he stared fiercely at Tiera.
Besides Seljuk Surik, there was Tommy Nemrod, the former secretary to the president of the Magical Union of America, a tall, muscular young man with reddish-brown hair and a face full of freckles; Marina Kirk, the head of the Magical Law Enforcement Division of the Magical Union of America, a conservatively dressed, medium-sized black witch; Marquis Davis, the head of the Auror Command, and Stavan Medina, the deputy head, two very young but resolute-looking wizards; and a group of Aurors from the Magical Union of America, watching intently from every corner of the negotiation room.
They seemed to want to tear him apart, skin him alive, drink his wine, and devour his flesh. Clearly, among the wizards who were fished up to the moon by Tyella, there were relatives and friends of these Aurors.
Faced with this group of wizards, some with hostile gazes and others with deep-seated hatred, Tiera seemed to ignore them completely, leisurely sipping her tea while Serjusurik roared in anger.
"You brat, let me tell you, we don't fall for that! The Magical Association of America was founded in 1693, almost a hundred years before the founding of the United States. We've seen it all. You think you can threaten us with your little British Magical Association?" Seeing that Tierra didn't react, Sergei Surik threatened again, his tone blustering but his heart still weak. "Let me tell you, if it weren't for Dumbledore's sake, we would have turned you into a bug and fed you to the goblins long ago!"
"Heh." Tyella wasn't angry; she just chuckled softly and said, "The Muggle regime in America taught me something."
"The length of history is meaningless; only power matters!" Tiera leaned on the table, slowly stood up, and casually put her hands behind her back. "You've tried, and you've been completely wiped out. So, as the weak and the defeated nation, please accept the arrangements of the victorious nation."
"Bullshit!" Serjusurik cursed. "You're using despicable dark magic! This is a serious violation of the International Law on Wizarding Secrecy! You have absolutely no positive stance in this war!"
“According to the provisions of the International Wizarding Secrecy Act, any use or teaching of dark magic is prohibited,” Marina Kirk, the Director of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, added.
“I’m sorry, the British Magical Union has repealed the International Wizarding Secrecy Act.” Tierra interrupted Marina Kirk. “We are now using the Non-Aggression Pact between Wizards and Muggles, which was signed and entered into force by Mr. Cornelius Fudge, President of the British Magical Union, Mr. Jim Hack, Prime Minister of Muggles, and Queen Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor.”
“The agreement stipulates that wizards in the English Isles and all Commonwealth countries can learn and use black magic reasonably,” Tierra said with a smile. “Just like I said, only power matters.”
“But clearly, you don’t seem to want to negotiate. Because you haven’t clearly felt that desperate sense of defeat,” Tiera said with a smile. “Very well, in that case, how about we have another round?”
"Avada Kedavra!" Marquis Davis, the Auror Commander, reacted with lightning speed. Before Tierra could even finish her sentence, he had already raised his wand and unleashed a beam of green light with a murderous intent.
The green light flashed like lightning across the relatively spacious negotiation room, but in this confined space and over such a short distance, Tiera had no time to react—
The green light struck Tiera.
But Tierra did not fall.
Before they could even cheer, Tiera chuckled softly again.
“You can’t be so naive as to think that Voldemort, his Death Eaters, and those hated opponents within the British Ministry of Magic never considered killing me this way, can you?” Tyra slowly turned around to face Marquis Davis, the Auror Commander. Tyra’s clean, smooth face had a pimple on it, which trembled incessantly. A thick, green worm pierced the pimple from the inside out and emerged from the hole.
The dark green worm, like a tentacle, had half its body buried in Tiera's face and the other half stretched out in mid-air, slowly wriggling and waving.
"Warning!" Seeing that his fatal blow had failed, Marquis Davis was neither discouraged nor intimidated by Tiera's terrifying appearance. Instead, he displayed his superior combat skills by shouting and gently shaking his wand repeatedly. With each shake, dazzling magical rays shot from the tip of his wand, rushing towards Tiera like meteors.
Numerous obstacles.
Land regeneration.
An air wall.
Dust filled the air.
The sun is blinding.
Although Marquis Davis didn't know why his killing curse hadn't killed Tiera, nor did he know what the strange worm on Tiera's face was all about, his years of combat experience made him immediately realize that perhaps offensive spells were ineffective against Tiera.
Therefore, Marquis Davis decided to use a blocking spell to first halt Tiera's offensive, then retreat with the important figures present, and finally find another way to kill or subdue Tiera.
Marques Davis's idea was good; normally, this approach would be correct against a normal enemy, but unfortunately—
Tiera simply waved her hand lightly—
No, not with her hand; Tiera simply extended her index finger and lightly flicked it at the spells cast by Marquis Davis.
Those spells, containing immense magical power, were bound together by Tiera's fingers like threads floating in mid-air.
Then Tiera pointed her finger behind her, to the spot where Serjusurik, Marina Kirk, and the others were, and with a flick of her finger, the spell wrapped around Tiera's finger flew towards them.
This tripped up Serjusulki, Marina Kirk, and the others who were preparing to evacuate under the protection of several Aurors.
