Chapter 591 Horcrux
Harry obediently put away his wand.

Soon it was broad daylight, and the morning light of the rising sun shone through the windows into the Gryffindor dormitory.

The other students in the dormitory were also woken up by their respective alarms, and they started to get dressed and go downstairs to have breakfast in the auditorium.

Hermione and Harry had another minor argument at breakfast, an argument that continued even as they entered Hogsmeade Village—

This made their journey to Hogsmeade less than pleasant.

Besides disagreeing with Hermione, the cold wind along the way was also a factor—

Ha used his scarf to cover the lower half of his face, and the exposed part quickly became numb.

Along the roads of Tongwang Village, students can be seen bending over to ward off the biting cold wind.

Harry thought more than once that the time they spent in the warm common room couldn't have been better.

When they finally arrived at Hogsmeade and saw that Zonko's joke shop was boarded up, Harry took this as proof that their journey was destined to be anything but fun from the start.

Ron pointed with his thickly gloved hand to the still-open Honey Duke shop, and together they entered the crowded store.

“Thank you, Merlin!” Ron said, trembling. Soon they were enveloped in warm, toffee-scented air. “Let’s stay here all afternoon!”

"Ok!"

Harry and Hermione nodded in agreement, while Tyella immediately took out her notebook and pen the moment she sat down at the table and began calculating something.

Harry ordered a butterbeer for each of them, along with several snacks that looked like they would warm their stomachs.

Once all the food was served, Harry, Ron, and Hermione quickly took a sip to warm their bodies, which were a little numb from the cold wind.

Then, Harry saw Tyrell taking notes, so he also took out his copy of "Advanced Potions" and started reading.

This sparked another round of complaints from Hermione.

The complaints were nothing new; Hermione just thought Harry should return the Half-Blood Prince's "Advanced Potions" and focus on Tyella's math problems instead of blindly studying and practicing with a book he didn't even know where he came from.

"I just don't understand Harry." Perhaps because Harry's performance in Potions and Dark Arts classes had recently surpassed hers, Hermione was a little irritable and impatient when facing Harry. "Tierra has clearly shown us the most reasonable and scientific path to learning magic, so why do you still want to read these miscellaneous books and try to learn magic on your own?"

"But...but this book is really interesting!" Harry muttered, dissatisfied. "And Tyrell didn't refuse me from reading it!"

“Tierra, why don’t you say anything about him!” Hermione grumbled, directing her dissatisfaction at Tierra. “Everyone is different,” Tierra said, looking up from her notebook with a sigh. “The method I’ve provided—using arithmetic models instead of spells to construct magical models—is a simpler and faster way to learn many advanced spells. For example, the spell I used to summon a giant meteor during the fourth-year Triwizard Tournament was called ‘Starfall,’ a spell recorded in Merlin’s book, ‘The Great Truth.’”

"This magic isn't an offensive spell. To be precise, its original purpose wasn't for attack. Its developer initially used it to summon extraterrestrial meteorites to collect rare metals for alchemical experiments," Tiera explained. "This kind of magic, from its very beginning, was a completely mathematical magical construct. Obviously, learning this type of magic is much simpler and faster using mathematical constructs, including the crafting of magic stones. In other words, the crafting of magic stones relies on a lot of mathematical calculations; otherwise, the materials we would consume would be enormous."

“But conversely, magic inherited from very, very ancient times, such as making the Felix Felicis or summoning elemental demons, might actually be easier to learn using ancient scripts like Nehemiah, Gnostic cryptana, or Egyptian hieroglyphs,” Tiera said. “Of course, what I mean by easy is only for wizards with exceptionally strong magical talent, like Dumbledore, Voldemort, or the Half-Blood Prince. For wizards with relatively mediocre talent in dark magic, mathematical models are definitely better, because once you can calculate it, you can basically use those spells after a little practice, without having to constantly adjust your tone of voice, pace, or wand gestures to pursue that elusive ‘flash of inspiration.’”

"Are you saying I have mediocre magical talent?" Hermione had recently become a little neurotic due to Harry's overly outstanding performance in class.

“I mean Harry has an exceptional talent for dark magic,” Tierra said calmly.

"what?"

"what!"

Harry and Hermione were both taken aback almost simultaneously, and even Ron, who was slurping up caramel pudding next to them, stopped what he was doing and stared at Tyella in disbelief.

“How could I possibly have such a high talent for dark magic?” Harry retorted defiantly.

“It’s no secret, so I’ll just say it outright,” Tierra said. “The most important reason why Voldemort can be defeated but is difficult to kill is that he crafted a dark magic item called a Horcrux.”

"A Horcrux? A Horcrux?" Hermione asked in surprise.

“A Horcrux, also known as an anchor of dark magic, is an object that contains a part of a person’s soul. The process of creating a Horcrux involves splitting your soul and hiding a part of it in an object outside your body. This way, even if your body is attacked or destroyed, you won’t die because a part of your soul remains unharmed in the world. Furthermore, to successfully create a Horcrux, you must first murder someone else to split the soul and fit it into the Horcrux,” Tiera explained. “This means you cannot be killed.”

“This is wicked!” Hermione exclaimed.

Tiera:
Oh, yes, that's so evil, so very evil.

“Hmm.” Tyrell nodded slightly. “But on the night Voldemort tried to kill you—to be precise, the night Voldemort tried to kill you with the Killing Curse, but your mother blocked it with love magic and it bounced back—Voldemort was severely injured. Although he didn't kill you, he did kill a life. This killing caused the dying Voldemort to lose control of his splitting soul. His soul was split once again and attached itself to the only living thing in the entire room—”

“You, Harry,” Tyrell said, “a piece of Voldemort’s soul lives within you.”

"No, no. This, this is impossible!"

“That’s why you speak Parsley, that’s why you can so easily connect with Voldemort,” Tierra said.
