Chapter 669 Shame
"What are you waiting for?" Sirius said coldly. "What do you want, you snotty-nosed devil, to rub your snot on us?"

A string of profanities and curses tumbled from Snape's mouth, but his wand was ten feet away, so nothing happened.

“Wash your mouth clean!” James said coldly. “Give it a fresh look!”

Pink soap bubbles immediately appeared in Snape's mouth, covering his lips and making him feel nauseous and breathless.

“Let him go!”

James and Sirius turned to look. James immediately reached for his hair with his free hand.

It was a girl walking from the lakeside. She had thick, long, deep red hair that reached her shoulders, and a pair of unusually bright green almond-shaped eyes—

Those are Harry's eyes.

That's Harry's mother!
“How are you, Evans?” James said, his tone suddenly becoming friendly, and also seemed to have become deeper and more mature.

"Let him go," Lily repeated angrily, her bright green eyes fixed on James with utter disgust. "What did he do to you?"

“Well,” James said, feigning deep thought, “it’s mainly because of his presence, if you understand what I mean…”

Many of the students watching burst into laughter, Sirius Black and Wormtail laughed too, but it seemed that only Lupin, who was still focused on his reading, didn't laugh, and of course, Lily didn't laugh either.

"You think you're funny?" Lily said coldly. "But you're just an arrogant, rude, bullying brat. Potter, let him go."

“If you come out with me, I’ll let him go, Evans,” James said immediately. “Go on… come out with me, and I’ll never lay a finger on that old snotty-nosed again.”

Behind him, the effects of the Obstacle Curse were gradually waning.

Snape began to slowly move toward his lost wand, vomiting bubbly soapy water as he crawled.

“Even if I had to choose between you and the giant squid, I wouldn’t go out with you,” Lily said with disgust.

"Bad luck, you fork!" Sirius said cheerfully, turning to Snape. "Oops!"

But it was too late. Snape had already pointed his wand straight at James. A flash of light, and a deep wound appeared on James's cheek, blood splattering onto his robes.

James whirled around, and after the second flash, Snape was hanging upside down in the air, his robes hanging over his head.

For a fleeting moment, Lily's angry expression flickered, as if she were about to smile, but she quickly and firmly said, "Put him down!"

“Of course,” James said, then he raised his wand sharply; Snape fell to the ground and curled up in a ball.

He threw off his robes, immediately stood up, and raised his wand, but Sirius said, "Petrify them all!"

Snape fell back onto the ground, stiff as a board.

"Let him go!" Lily shouted angrily.

Now she drew her wand. James and Sirius watched it carefully.

“Hey, hey, Evans, don’t force me to cast a poison spell on you,” James said sternly.

"Then break the spell on him!"

James sighed deeply, then turned to face Snape and whispered the dispelling spell. "You can leave," he said as Snape struggled to his feet. "Consider yourself lucky, Evans's here, you snotty-nosed—"

"I don't need her stinky little mud-covered thing to help me!"

Lily blinked, looking both shocked and disappointed.

“Fine, very well,” Lily said coldly. “Alright, I won’t worry about this anymore. Also, if I were you, I would wash my own underwear, you snotty bastard.”

“Apologize to Evans!” James roared at Snape, his wand pointing menacingly at him.

“I don’t need you to force him to apologize.” Lily turned and shouted at James, “You’re just as annoying as him.”

“What?” James shouted. “I never said you were a—you know what that is!”

“Oh, really? Do you think I should thank you for never calling me a Mudblood?” Lily Evans was clearly agitated. “Or do you think it’s cool to look like you just stepped off a flying broomstick, so you mess up your hair, flaunt that stupid Snitch around, and cast spells on anyone who annoys you in the hallway, just because you can—I’m really curious, how can your broomstick with that big head even leave the ground? Honestly, it disgusts me!”

After saying that, she turned around abruptly and ran away quickly.

“Evans!” James called from behind her. “Hey, Evans!”

Unfortunately, Lily Evans did not turn around.

“What’s wrong with her?” James asked, intending to answer casually as if it were no big deal to him, but he failed.

"From what she implied, all I can say is—she thinks you're a bit arrogant, buddy," Sirius said.

“Oh, right!” James said, now looking genuinely angry. “Right—”

Another flash of light, and Snape was once again hanging upside down in the air.

"Who wants to see me take off the snotty-nosed guy's underwear?"

But Harry will never know whether James actually took off Snape's underwear.

Because soon, he felt a hand gripping his upper arm tightly, as if he were being clamped by pliers.

Harry shrank back, turning his head to see who had grabbed him. He trembled with fear at the sight of Snape, now a grown man, standing beside him, his face pale with rage.

"Did you have fun?"

"The adult Snape asked angrily."

Harry felt himself rising into the air, the summer scenery around him vanishing, and he floated upwards in the cold darkness, Snape's hand still gripping his upper arm tightly. Then—

With a feeling of rapid descent, as if he had somersaulted in mid-air, his feet struck the stone floor of Snape's underground classroom, and he found himself once again beside Snape's Pensieve on his desk, in the dimly lit study of the Potions Master in the real world.

“Well then,” Snape said, gripping Harry’s arm tightly, Harry’s hand beginning to go numb, “you’re… having a good time, Potter?”

"No, no...nothing," Harry said nervously and fearfully, trying to free his arm.

Snape's lips trembled, his face was pale, and he revealed his teeth, looking like a grinning vampire.
