The Empire begins with the Fourth Scourge.

Chapter 2639 Imperial Marshal Ormantag

2639, Imperial Marshal Orman Tag
The core of the Milky Way, the planet Tepachi.

After Orman Tag was appointed Marshal of the Empire, the entire planet erupted in jubilation.

For Orman Tagh, this was a complete surprise. He had no idea that he would be appointed the twelfth Field Marshal!

Palpatine did not reveal any information before issuing the appointment, and Orman Tag did not believe he was qualified to be the Reich Marshal, so when the appointment letter came down, he almost fainted from his rapid heartbeat.

Orman Tag immediately set off for the Imperial capital to attend the celebrations and receive a personal appointment from His Majesty the Emperor. When he returned to Tepacie in his marshal's uniform and carrying his marshal's scepter, a grand ceremony, no less lavish than the previous Imperial celebration, awaited him.

The Tag Company invested a huge amount of money to organize this most extravagant ceremony.

For the Targ family, Orman Targ's appointment as Imperial Marshal was a tremendous leap forward! Before this, due to the death of Cassio Targ, the Targ family had to painstakingly raise their fourth son, Urik Targ, to enter the military, and he finally managed to reach the rank of colonel.

For no other reason than the hope that his family could have a place in the military.

However, the Targ family has now risen to prominence, becoming the pinnacle of the Galactic Empire's military—the Imperial Marshals! Their long-cherished dream has been realized in an instant, and they have reached their peak almost immediately!
Moreover, the Destroyer super star destroyer currently under construction has been assigned to Orman Tag's command, becoming his marshal's flagship! What an honor!

What pleased Orman Taggard even more was that the Tarkin family and Darth Vader didn't get anything in the appointment of the twelve marshals! That was really great!

Darth Vader is the sworn enemy of his family, the Targaryen, while Wilhuff Tarkin is vying for command of the Death Star.

In this way, Orman Tager believed that once he became Marshal, he would be able to easily suppress Darth Vader, and at the same time, he would have another chance to compete for the Death Star!
Although nothing else changed for Orman Tag, the Tag Corporation and the Advanced Technology Alliance under his control, becoming an Imperial Marshal brought countless hidden benefits.

First and foremost, the Targ Sector can now legitimately establish its own fleet. Furthermore, with Orman Targ becoming Imperial Marshal, those planets that previously refused direct rule by the Targ Corporation now bow their heads and acknowledge Orman Targ's dominance.

The sector governors who had previously hindered the process suddenly became much more agreeable. They began to calmly discuss with the Targ family how to peacefully transfer the planets assigned to the Targ sector.

Palpatine's appointment effectively stabilized the more than 3000 planets in the Targ sector, a truly brilliant move.

At the same time, becoming Imperial Marshal would also allow Orman Tag to prove to his brother Silas Tag and his faction that his investment in the Death Star was absolutely worthwhile. Although he didn't directly become the second most powerful person in the Empire, becoming Imperial Marshal was still a tremendous achievement.

However, Silas Targ and his ilk scoffed at Marshal Orman, declaring that Targ's position was entirely bought. The price was almost all of the Targ Corporation's resources and wealth. Furthermore, the Targ Sector was about to establish its own fleet, with the Targ family bearing the costs and resources. And who would ultimately benefit from this fleet's establishment? The Galactic Empire, already weakened by repeated defeats and a depleted military! Because when the Dawn Kingdom's fleet attacked, wouldn't your fleet have to rush in and fight them?
This is tantamount to giving you a hollow title, which not only wipes out the huge debt and promises made to get the Targ family to invest in the Death Star, but also forces the Targ family to sacrifice an entire fleet.

Regardless, Orman Tag's appointment as Imperial Marshal caused unrest among Silas Tag's followers, as it at least amounted to the Emperor's expression of support for Orman. Many began secretly deserting and returning to Orman Tag's side.

However, Silas Tager has been driven to the brink. His actions at the company's top meeting made it impossible for Orman Tager to let him off the hook, so he has no choice but to fight to the bitter end.

……

After a night of revelry and a hangover, Orman Tagg didn't open his eyes until the afternoon of the next day. The first thing he did was look down at himself and find that he was wearing his once pristine white marshal's uniform! Moreover, the uniform was quite dirty from the revelry and vomiting after drinking.

Orman Tag sobered up instantly. He jumped up and summoned his servants to thoroughly clean the marshal's uniforms using the most advanced molecular resonance cleaning device.

After confirming that the marshal's uniform was as white as ever, he carefully put it back on, straightened the gold tassels on his shoulders, stood in front of the mirror and looked at himself over and over again, striking various poses that he thought were majestic and awe-inspiring, completely absorbed in the moment.

Then, he went to his office and began to handle his affairs.

Now that he has become the Imperial Marshal, he naturally cannot slack off in his work. The high degree of autonomy afforded to the Imperial Marshal means that from now on, every task he undertakes will bring him greater benefits.

Of all the tasks, the most important one is, of course, to eliminate Silas-Tagg! Drag this traitor of the family out and execute him in public!

Orman Tag even prepared the ancient guillotine, intending to capture Silas and send him there to be beheaded as a warning to others, so that they would never dare to disobey him, the Imperial Marshal, again!
Orman Tag connected to a secret frequency, and a figure in a black cloak appeared in the holographic projection—it was none other than the Dark Prophet, Kardan.

"Ah, it's His Excellency the Imperial Marshal. You're up very early today." Cardan's tone was laced with sarcasm.

"My schedule is none of your business, Lord Dark Prophet." Now a marshal, Orman-Tagg's tone had become much more assertive. He asked directly, "His Majesty the Emperor sent you to investigate the possibility of a spy infiltration at our Tagg Corporation headquarters. As a 'prophet,' you should know something, shouldn't you?"

However, a slight smile played on Cardan's lips beneath his hood as he calmly stated, "No, I didn't sense any sign of the Force. If there really was an intrusion, it would just be a simple espionage incident." (End of Chapter)
