Chapter 2834 Life and Death 1 Line

Chapter 2834 The Thin Line of Life and Death

The sky in northern Myanmar was still stained with the smoke of war, and the setting sun, like blood, dyed the earth a dark red.

Standing atop a makeshift watchtower, Liu Ling peered through his binoculars at soldiers clearing the battlefield. The wreckage of damaged aircraft, scattered shell casings, and corpses strewn about created a gruesome scene.

Although the sudden battle had come to a temporary end, her unease grew stronger.

"Chairman, the various units are currently compiling statistics on casualties and material losses."

Lin Xiao climbed up the watchtower and handed a document to Liu Ling, his voice tinged with exhaustion.

Liu Ling took the document, quickly scanned it, and frowned more and more.

Although the battle was won with the support of bayonet security, the Chinese side also paid a heavy price.

The casualties exceeded 300, the air defense weapons were almost exhausted, and the ammunition reserves were also running low.

What worries her even more is that the enemy will certainly not give up easily, and an even bigger storm is brewing.

"Pass the word down, instructing the soldiers to take the time to rest and recuperate, while also strengthening vigilance to prevent enemy attacks."

Liu Ling put down the documents and gazed resolutely into the distance:

"Also, contact Uncle Yang and ask him to come to the command post. We need to revise the battle plan."

Meanwhile, on the Yunnan border, the three sisters, Ouyang Xue, Jin Wan, and Jin Ping, were extremely anxious.

They had been waiting at the border for hours, but Hei Zi had not yet come to meet them.

"Could something have happened?" Ouyang Xue gripped her phone, constantly refreshing the messages, her eyes filled with anxiety.

"Don't worry, Hei Zi is always reliable. Something must have happened on the way."

Although Jin Wan offered words of comfort, a hint of unease was also evident in her eyes.

Just then, the sound of engines came from afar, and several military off-road vehicles sped towards them.

In the lead car, Hei Zi poked his head out and shouted:
"Ladies, get in the car quickly!"

The three sisters quickly got up and ran to the SUV. As soon as they got in, Ouyang Xue asked anxiously:
"Hei Zi, how is Ye Mao?"

As Kuroko started the car, he answered:
"President Ye and the others are all safe and sound. The battle is over, but the situation remains tense."

The off-road vehicle bumped along the rugged mountain road, the atmosphere inside heavy. After several hours of driving, they finally arrived at the command post in northern Myanmar.

Liu Ling was discussing battle plans with Ye Mao, Yang Geyong, and others in the command post when she heard the commotion outside and quickly went out.

When she saw Ouyang Xue and the other two, a complex emotion flashed in her eyes.

"You've arrived." Liu Ling stepped forward and shook Ouyang Xue's hand. "Did you encounter any trouble on the way?"

"It's nothing, I'm just getting impatient."

Ouyang Xue looked at Liu Ling with concern in her eyes, "It's good that you're alright."

"Come in, we're discussing our next steps." Liu Ling led them into the command center.

Inside the command post, the map was covered with various markings, and Ye Mao and the others sat around the table with serious expressions.

Upon seeing Ouyang Xue and the other two enter, Ye Mao stood up to greet them.

"Why are you here? It's too dangerous here."

Ye Mao looked at Ouyang Xue, his tone tinged with reproach, but even more so with heartache.

"Now that you're here, how can we not feel at ease?" Ouyang Xue said, her eyes reddening. "Besides, we also want to help out."

Ye Mao sighed helplessly and pulled Ouyang Xue into his arms.

Jin Wan and Jin Yao, who were standing nearby, also came forward and greeted everyone.

Liu Ling returned to the map, cleared his throat, and said:

"Gentlemen, according to the latest intelligence, Sam, the boss of Company M, is mobilizing elite troops and a large amount of weapons, preparing to launch a general offensive against us in conjunction with the Burmese army."

"This time the enemy is larger than before, and we must be fully prepared."

"Ling'er, our Bayonet Security team has limited equipment and personnel this time. In order to withstand the enemy's general offensive, we must find outside help."

Yang Geyong frowned and said, "I suggest contacting the surrounding armed forces to see if an alliance can be formed."

Ye Mao nodded and added, "In addition to that, we also need to strengthen the construction of defensive fortifications and find ways to replenish ammunition and supplies."

“I have asked people in China to find a way to send some over through special channels, but that’s not enough to solve the immediate problem. We still need to find a solution locally.”

Just as everyone was discussing countermeasures, a soldier rushed in:

"Report! A large number of enemy troops have been detected in the southeast direction. Preliminary assessment indicates that it is the vanguard of the Burmese army, numbering approximately 20,000, and is rapidly approaching us!"

Liu Ling's expression hardened, and he decisively gave the order:

"All troops, prepare for battle! Lin Xiao, you lead the Youth Army to deploy defenses on the front lines."

"Ye Mao, Yang Geyong, you will lead the bayonet security team to provide flank support."

"Tiechui, Yang San, each of you take a team and lie in ambush on both sides. When the enemy comes into range, launch a pincer attack!"

After receiving their orders, everyone quickly sprang into action. Ouyang Xue, Jin Wan, and Jin Yao, not wanting to be idle, volunteered to go to the field hospital to help care for the wounded.

On the battlefield, smoke once again filled the air. The vanguard of the Burmese army, under the cover of tanks and armored vehicles, charged forward menacingly.

Liu Ling stood on the command vehicle, observing the enemy's movements through binoculars.

"Wait until they get any closer!"

Liu Ling gripped the walkie-talkie tightly, her eyes sharp as an eagle's. Once the enemy was within effective firing range, she decisively gave the order:
"Fire!"

In an instant, the sound of gunfire was deafening. Relying on their familiarity with the terrain and utilizing the fortifications they had built beforehand, the youth army put up a tenacious resistance against the enemy.

The bayonet guards launched an attack from the flanks; their accurate marksmanship and swift offensive threw the Burmese army into disarray.

However, the Burmese army was outnumbered and quickly organized a counterattack after the brief chaos.

The tank's cannons spewed flames, and shells exploded continuously on the position, kicking up clouds of dust.

Liu Ling watched the enemy closing in and felt extremely anxious.

"Calling for air support!"

Liu Ling shouted into the walkie-talkie. But she knew in her heart that their few helicopters had been severely damaged in the previous battle and were unable to provide effective support.

Just when the situation was critical, Tiechui and Yang San led their ambush troops to suddenly attack from both sides.

They attacked enemy tanks and armored vehicles with rocket launchers and heavy machine guns, and explosions rang out one after another.

The Burmese army was caught off guard by this sudden attack, and their formation was completely disrupted.

"Now's the time to launch an attack!"

Seizing the opportunity, Liu Ling gave the order to charge. The soldiers rushed out of the trenches like tigers descending a mountain, engaging the enemy in close-quarters combat.

Holding an assault rifle, Ye Mao charged at the forefront, his eyes filled with anger and determination. Every time he pulled the trigger, he took the life of an enemy.

After a fierce battle, the Burmese army's vanguard was finally defeated.

But Liu Ling knew that this was just a probing attack by the enemy; the real battle was yet to come. After the battle, Liu Ling, without taking a break, immediately organized personnel to clean up the battlefield and treat the wounded.

She arrived at the field hospital and looked at the soldiers lying in their hospital beds, feeling a deep sense of guilt.

"Chairman Liu, although we repelled the enemy in this battle, we also suffered heavy casualties and our ammunition consumption was severe."

Hei Zi and Lin Xiao followed behind Liu Ling, their expressions solemn.

Liu Ling nodded and said, "I know. Go and take stock of how much more supplies we need and make a list for me."

"In addition, send people to the surrounding villages and towns to see if we can collect some food and medicine."

Just then, a communications soldier ran over:
"Report! Enemy communications intercepted. Sam has personally led the main force toward us and is expected to arrive by tomorrow morning!"

Liu Ling's heart tightened. Sam's personal intervention meant that the enemy was determined to annihilate them in one fell swoop.

She immediately convened a meeting to discuss countermeasures.

"Gentlemen, the enemy's main force is about to arrive. We must prepare for a desperate battle."

Liu Ling looked at everyone with a determined gaze, "I have contacted several armed groups in the surrounding area, but they cannot provide any substantial assistance for the time being. Therefore, in this battle, we can only rely on ourselves."

"Chairman Liu, we, the Bayonet Security Team, will fight alongside you and share life and death!"

Iron Hammer stood up and spoke loudly. Everyone nodded, indicating their willingness to live and die with northern Myanmar.

Ye Mao walked to the map, pointed to a valley, and said:
"This is the enemy's only route. The terrain is treacherous, easy to defend and difficult to attack. We can set up an ambush here and take advantage of the terrain to deal a heavy blow to the enemy."

Liu Ling pondered for a moment, then nodded in agreement: "Alright! We'll do it your way. We'll lay a lot of landmines and explosives on both sides of the valley. Once the enemy enters the valley, we'll detonate the landmines to block their retreat."

"At the same time, heavy troops were deployed at the valley exit to prevent the enemy from breaking through."

After the meeting, everyone immediately began to act. The soldiers went to the valley overnight to set up fortifications and traps.

Ouyang Xue, Jin Wan, and Jin Yao also volunteered to join the team carrying supplies. Although they were women, they showed courage and resilience no less than men in this critical moment.

As night deepened, the land of northern Myanmar fell silent, with only the busy figures of soldiers moving about in the moonlight.

Liu Ling stood above the valley, gazing at the dark horizon in the distance, silently praying.

She knew this would be a battle of life and death, and no matter the outcome, she would not give up, because this was the land she protected, the home of her and her son.

Sam sat in the luxurious armored car, looking at the battle plan in his hand, a sinister smile appearing on his lips.

He has mobilized the most elite troops and the most advanced weapons, vowing to completely annihilate the resistance forces in northern Myanmar.

"Liu Ling, let's see how long you can hold out this time!"

Sam picked up his glass, downed it in one gulp, and his eyes gleamed with madness.

The darkness before dawn is always exceptionally long. In the valleys of northern Myanmar, the soldiers are already in position, awaiting the arrival of the enemy.

Liu Ling held the pistol left to her by her father and stood at the front. There was no fear in her eyes, only determination and resolve.

Ye Mao stood beside her, reached out and took her hand, giving her strength.

"Don't be afraid, I'm here," Ye Mao said softly.

Liu Ling turned and glanced at him, then smiled slightly:
"I'm not afraid. As long as we're together, no difficulty can defeat us."

As the sky began to lighten, the sounds of engines and footsteps could be heard in the distance.

Sam's main force had finally arrived. Liu Ling held her breath, her eyes fixed on the approaching enemy. Once the enemy had all entered the valley, she decisively ordered, "Detonate!"

In an instant, the valley was filled with deafening explosions as landmines and explosives detonated simultaneously, filling the air with smoke and sending rocks flying everywhere.

The enemy suffered heavy casualties from the sudden attack, with screams echoing throughout. Sam's expression changed drastically; he never expected to be ambushed.

"Quickly! Organize the troops to break through!"

"Sam shouted. But the firepower from both sides of the valley was too intense, and the enemy was unable to break through the defenses."

Seeing the enemy in disarray, Liu Ling felt a surge of joy. She immediately ordered, "All troops, attack!"

The soldiers surged down from both sides of the valley like a tidal wave, throwing grenades and various high-explosive shells recklessly. The Burmese army was caught off guard and suffered heavy losses.

Although the bayonet security force was small in number, it was well-equipped, which completely shattered the Burmese army's confidence.

Seeing that the situation was not good, Sam personally led a team of elite soldiers in an attempt to break through from the valley exit.

Upon seeing this, Ye Mao led several members of the bayonet security team to meet them.

"Sam! Today is your last day!"

Ye Mao roared and opened fire on Sam with his gun. Sam quickly dodged and simultaneously ordered his soldiers to retaliate.

The two sides engaged in a fierce firefight at the valley's exit.

Liu Ling also led the youth army into battle. Her marksmanship was accurate, and every shot she fired took down an enemy.

The battle entered a white-hot stage, with both sides suffering heavy casualties.

Just then, Sam took advantage of the chaos to circle around behind Ye Mao and raised his gun, aiming it at him.

Liu Ling, with her sharp eyes, saw this scene and rushed over without hesitation, standing in front of Ye Mao.

"Bang!" A gunshot rang out, and Liu Ling felt a sharp pain in her chest. Her vision went black, and she collapsed into Ye Mao's arms.

"Liu Ling!"

Ye Mao let out a heart-wrenching scream as he held Liu Ling in his arms, his eyes filled with anger and grief.

He turned and pointed his gun at Sam, firing wildly. With the help of the bayonet-wielding security guards, they finally wiped out Sam and his elite troops.

The battle was over, and dawn finally broke over northern Myanmar. Ye Mao held the unconscious Liu Ling, anxiously awaiting the doctor's treatment.

Ouyang Xue, Jin Wan, and Jin Yao also stood by, tears streaming down their faces.

"Liu Ling, you must hold on!" Ye Mao held Liu Ling's hand tightly and kept calling her name.

Thanks to the doctors' best efforts, Liu Ling is finally out of danger.

When she slowly opened her eyes and saw the concerned looks in Ye Mao's and the others' eyes, she gave a weak smile.

"I'm fine now," Liu Ling said softly.

Ye Mao burst into tears of joy and hugged her tightly: "Don't be so silly again. I can't live without you."

Liu Ling leaned against Ye Mao, feeling his warmth. She knew that although the war was temporarily over, the road ahead was long, and they would face many more challenges.

But as long as they are together, there is no difficulty they cannot overcome.

As the smoke of battle gradually dissipates in northern Myanmar, soldiers begin to rebuild their homes.

Liu Ling and Ye Mao stood on high ground, gazing at the land they had been protecting together, their hearts filled with hope.

They believe that with everyone's joint efforts, northern Myanmar will surely usher in a day of peace and prosperity. And their story will continue to be written on this land...

Ye Si stood between the two people, looking up at her father. It turned out that her father was really just like she had imagined, a great hero who had descended from the sky in a moment of crisis and saved her and her mother.

It's almost the end of the month, where are the tickets?
