Chapter 24 Meat and Salt
Unseen by her, the system was pounding the table and laughing maniacally, then silently changed the points back.

This thing is so flashy; she can't even get out of this primitive beast world.
In the end, Wu Yue still wore a straw-woven curtain over her floral shorts as a cover-up.

Looking at the small porcelain bottle in her hand, Wu Yue was filled with excitement. She opened the stopper and prepared to pour it into her mouth.

"Friendly reminder: It's recommended that you take this when no one is around to disturb you~" the system suddenly said, stopping her.

She just got back from collecting samples, and everyone is busy at home, so who would come looking for her?

Just as Wu Yue was about to refute the system, she suddenly heard someone calling her from outside the cave.

"Moon, are you there?" It was Qingcao's voice, which startled Wu Yue.

He quickly tied up the straw curtain covering the large floral shorts, making them less conspicuous, before walking out of the cave.

Standing outside the cave was Qingcao, and beside her was a very familiar orc warrior.

It seems to be that orc who was dragged over by Mu Jing to lick her fingers.

He was holding a piece of meat from some kind of prey, which looked as if it had just been torn from the prey and was still dripping blood.

“This is…” Wu Yue looked at the green grass on the side.

Green Grass nudged the orc next to her: "This is Stone Forest. He came to deliver food to you. Since he didn't know where you lived, he asked me to bring him here."

Wu Yue waved her hand: "That hemostatic herb was a gift for you, it's not enough to exchange for such a large piece of meat, you should take it back."

The orc shook his head: "This is what I promised you."

After saying that, he stepped forward, stuffed the meat in his hand into Wu Yue's hand, and strode away.

By the time Wu Yue finally managed to hold the meat firmly in her hands, Shi Lin had already walked far away. Looking at the large piece of meat in her hand, Wu Yue smiled wryly, "I can't possibly finish such a big piece of meat."

Although the weather isn't very hot yet, the meat will still spoil if left until tomorrow.

"Moon, this is what Amu asked me to bring to you." Green Grass suddenly spoke up, carefully handing over a small stone bowl.

"Wait a moment." Wu Yue quickly turned around and placed the meat in her hand on the dry grass inside the cave before carefully taking it.

Looking at the slightly yellowish granules in the stone bowl, Wu Yue's heart skipped a beat: "This is... salt?"

Qingcao nodded: "Yes, the tribesmen who went to exchange salt this year have not returned yet, so my family doesn't have much salt left."

Wu Yue was extremely grateful. In the original owner's memory, precious salt only existed in legends, and they only had one way to replenish their salt: beast blood.

Sometimes, even animal blood is a luxury, and the elderly and those in the tribe who are unable to find food are not entitled to it.

Wu Yue carefully put the salt away and, holding Qingcao's hand, walked into the cave: "Qingcao, I want to separate this piece of meat. Do you have any ideas?"

Qingcao scratched his head: "The soldiers do things like dividing the meat; we don't have sharp claws."

Wu Yue looked at her bare fingernails and silently curled up.

Well, she's even worse.

"Green grass, where are there more stones by the river?" Since we can't do it by hand, we'll have to use tools.

Although Qingcao was puzzled as to why Wuyue suddenly asked about the stone, she still nodded and said, "I know, it's where the beastmen bathe after they come back from hunting."
