Chapter 664: Journey to the West: Zhu Jiumei 23
On a dark and windy night, Tang Seng and his three disciples led the white dragon horse on the road to the Kingdom of Black Chicken. It was quiet and silent, with only the sound of their footsteps and the hoofbeats of the white dragon horse echoing in the silence.

"Master, it's been so quiet along the way. I feel like something is wrong." Sun Wukong jumped in front of Tang Seng and said while scratching his ears.

Tang Seng clasped his hands together and said, "Wukong, don't be suspicious. Maybe this is just a temporary calm."

Zhu Jiumei, who was walking behind, snorted: "Big Brother, you are just too sensitive. This is not good enough."

Sha Wujing carried the luggage and smiled naively: "Second Senior Sister, Senior Brother is also thinking about our safety."

Suddenly, a cold wind blew and everyone couldn't help but shiver.

"This wind comes in a strange way, everyone be careful!" Sun Wukong looked around vigilantly.

At this moment, a city appeared in front of them. There were no guards at the gate and the whole city was filled with a strange atmosphere.

Tang Seng said, "Wukong, let's go into the city and have a look. Maybe we can get some food so that everyone can have a rest."

When they walked into the city, they found that the streets were empty and the doors and windows of every household were closed.

"What is going on?" Zhu Jiumei frowned.

Sun Wukong looked around with his flaming eyes and said, "I think there must be something strange in this city."

They came to an inn, and Sun Wukong knocked on the door, but no one answered for a long time. He pushed hard, and the door creaked open. It was covered with dust, and it was obvious that no one had lived there for a long time.

"Master, this place is full of evil, let's leave quickly." Sha Wujing said.

Tang Seng shook his head and said: "Monks are compassionate. Now that we are here, we must find out the truth. Maybe the people here are suffering and need our help."

Just then, a dark shadow flashed past them from behind.

"Who!" Sun Wukong shouted and chased after him.

When they chased to a palace, the black shadow disappeared.

"This must be the royal palace. I, Sun Wukong, will go in and take a look." Sun Wukong said as he turned into a ray of golden light and flew in.

Entering the palace, Sun Wukong found a room with a faint light. He approached quietly and saw a person lying on the bed, mumbling to himself.

When Sun Wukong went forward to check, he realized that what he saw was not a person, but a lonely soul.

When the man saw Sun Wukong, he quickly stood up and said, "Great Sage, save me, save the Kingdom of Black Chicken."

Sun Wukong asked, "What's going on with you? Tell me quickly."

The man cried and complained, "I am the king of Wuji Country. Three years ago, a Taoist priest came to my country and called me a brother. One day, he took advantage of my unpreparedness and pushed me into a well. He changed into my appearance and took over my throne. Now, my country has been made into a mess by him, and the people are suffering."

After hearing this, Sun Wukong's eyes widened with anger: "This monster is so bold, I will definitely bring him to justice!"

After Sun Wukong promised, the dark wind dissipated, and everyone's eyes were restored to light. Everything in the inn was back to normal.

Several people stayed in the inn, and Sun Wukong told Tang Seng and others what had happened.

Tang Seng said compassionately: "Amitabha, Wukong, we must redress the king's injustice and restore peace to the Kingdom of Black Chicken."

Zhu Jiumei clenched the weapon in her hand and said, "Master, don't worry. With us here, we will not let the monster succeed."

The next day, Sun Wukong turned into a bee and flew into the palace to find out the truth about the monster. He saw the fake king in the court, shouting at the ministers.

Sun Wukong changed back to his original form and shouted, "Monster, show your true form now!"

The fake king was startled, but soon calmed down: "Where did this wild monkey come from? How dare he act wildly in the court!"

Sun Wukong raised his stick and started to fight without saying anything. The fake king was not to be outdone and fought with Sun Wukong.

The two men fought fiercely, from the palace all the way to outside the city.

Seeing that Sun Wukong was unable to defeat him after a long fight, Zhu Jiumei and Sha Wujing also joined the battle.

Gradually the fake king was defeated and turned into a puff of black smoke, trying to escape.

Sun Wukong was quick-witted and quick-handed. He threw out his golden cudgel and dispersed the black smoke.

The black smoke condensed again and turned into a fake Tang Monk.

"Wukong, don't hit me!" the fake Tang Monk shouted.

Sun Wukong was stunned for a moment.

The real Tang Monk said, "Wukong, your master is here. It must be a monster in disguise. Don't be fooled by it."

Sun Wukong came back to his senses and said, "Monster, don't try to trick me!"

As he said this, he hit the fake Tang Monk with a stick.

Seeing that the situation was not good, the fake Tang Monk turned into an eagle and flew into the sky.

Sun Wukong chased after the eagle relentlessly and engaged in a fierce fight with the eagle in the air.

Finally, Sun Wukong hit the eagle with a stick. The eagle screamed, fell down, and turned back into the fake king.

Just as Sun Wukong was about to kill him, a voice came from the sky: "Great Sage, please show mercy!"

I saw Manjushri Bodhisattva riding a lion and slowly descending.

Sun Wukong asked, "Bodhisattva, is this monster from your family?"

Manjusri Bodhisattva said: "This monster is a blue-haired lion under my command. This time, I came to the world to punish the king of Wuji Kingdom. The king tied me up and soaked me in the river for three days because of a trivial matter. Now he has also suffered in the well for three years. This is also karma."

Tang Seng said quickly: "Since it is the arrangement of the Bodhisattva, let's leave it at that. I hope the Bodhisattva can bring the King of Zhen back to life and restore the peace of the Black Chicken Kingdom."

Manjusri nodded, dipped some nectar with a willow branch, and sprinkled it on the king's body that had been salvaged long ago. The king slowly opened his eyes and came back to life.

The King of the Black Chicken Kingdom expressed his gratitude to Monk Tang and his disciples and Manjushri Bodhisattva.

Tang Seng said: "Your Majesty, you must do more good deeds in the future and stop doing evil."

The king nodded repeatedly: "Thank you for your teachings, holy monk. I will keep it in mind."

With the farewell of the people of the Wuji Kingdom, Tang Seng and his disciples continued their journey to the west.
