Chapter 3697 Zhao Chang'an's Compromise

Chapter 3697 Zhao Chang'an's Compromise
Zhao Chang'an's eyes swept over the faces of Su Bo, Nan Li, He Danni, Chu Yanling, and Tian Xue. Su Bo and the others looked at Zhao Chang'an with a mixture of trepidation and hope.

Clearly, they all want to change the current marginalized position of the R&D center in the one-nanometer system and seek a broader space for development and future for their careers and the R&D center.

Wearing gold-rimmed glasses, the refined and cultured man in his thirties, Su Bo, is not particularly interesting. He is a young man with a stable personality, strong professional skills, and a wife and children in his thirties, yet he still maintains his original aspirations and ideals, and is full of passion.

However, this incident also made Zhao Chang'an realize that Su Bo was quite astute in the business world and had excellent action capabilities. He was not just an engineering student, and could be entrusted with more responsibilities.

Nanli is two years younger than Subo, and at thirty years old, her face is still covered in acne, like a volcano constantly erupting. This is a typical manifestation of a tech woman who is out of balance and doesn't pay much attention to skincare and rest.

As a tech-savvy woman, Nan Li is quite emotional and impulsive, often acting without considering the consequences. To settle her breach of contract lawsuit, Zhao Chang'an spent $430,000.

If one's face were full of pits and craters like those left by a volcanic eruption, and could be repaired first, and then properly dressed up, one could be considered to have a pretty face. However, in reality, one's face is just a pale, cold-skinned one with pits and craters, which means one is destined to be far from beautiful.

Three years ago, when Zhao Chang'an first met her, she had some acne and blemishes on her face, but not many. She was under thirty years old, slender, and over 1.6 meters tall. She was quite good-looking and would have been a sect saintess who would have been pampered and cared for by many senior brothers and masters in the science and engineering circle. But in just three short years, she has been transformed into the sect's aunt.

It's winter now, and there's no trace of skincare products on her face; if you look closely, you can see dry, flaky skin all over.

It's clear that in the two years since she came to Jiangcheng, she has devoted almost all her energy to the research and development of the architecture of this 16-bit DSP chip.

Zhao Chang'an contacted Nan Li before, and she said that her parents were urging her to get married. Her sister-in-law thought it was good that she was single and even wanted her son, who had dropped out of school, to come and inherit the family business in advance. Given her appearance, it's estimated that apart from wanting her to make money or to be used as a tool to have children and carry on the family line, men probably wouldn't be very interested in her sexually.

As for He Danni and Chu Yanling, both girls have changed their names to He Cai and Chu Yun. To this day, even Tian Xue doesn't know about their past. When Zhao Chang'an brought them to the Jiangcheng R&D Center, he went all out and got them each a diploma from an obscure undergraduate university in Southwest China, majoring in microelectronics.

After the two women transferred their household registrations from Fudan University's collective household registration back to their respective hometowns, they were not allowed to return to their villages according to regulations, as they were previously registered as agricultural households. Instead, they remained in the township's collective household registration. As a result, their villages were unaware that their household registrations had been transferred back to the township.

The household registration process only went through the necessary procedures in the two people's township household registration. At that time, the registration was processed and a migration certificate was issued on the spot. Zhao Chang'an then transferred their household registration to Shancheng, where they changed their names to their current names. Then they transferred it to Jiangcheng, and their household registration was placed under the collective household registration of the One Nano Jiangcheng R&D Center.

In the past two years, both of them have cut their hair short to ear length and learned a lot of makeup skills from Tian Xue. He Danni's face shape and chin are a bit uneven, so she had jaw reduction surgery and double eyelid surgery. Chu Yanling used to have freckles on her cheeks and her skin wasn't very fair and smooth, but now she has freckle removal surgery. The two women don't go out without makeup every day, and their appearances have changed a lot. They get a lot of attention on the street, and many men try to chat them up.

Let alone his former classmates from Fudan University, even Sun Yiyang himself would mistake them for strangers if he didn't look closely. He might even fantasize about how he could really be beautiful if he could roast these two elegant and beautiful women.

The two women are now in charge of external liaison and staff logistics at the R&D center. Because they frequently visit universities such as Jiangnan University, East China University of Science and Technology, and Wuhan University of Science and Technology, and communicate with experts, professors and young scholars, their reputation has spread widely. Many university teachers are enamored with them, and there is a long line of suitors.

As for Tian Xue, because of the halo of the One Nano System, even after Jurassic was acquired by Imagination, Jiangda did not take back the small building at the foot of Luojia Mountain, but continued to use it by One Nano System.

Now, as the location of the Jiangnan University Internet Forum and Computer Society, Tian Xue is in charge. The plastic surgery controversy surrounding her has finally become a trivial matter. Tian Xue has also become one of the most beautiful campus beauties since the founding of Jiangnan University. Moreover, she is talented in both arts and sciences and is the white moonlight and goddess in the hearts of countless male students.

Zhao Chang'an wasn't dissatisfied with Su Bo and Nan Li's cleverness this time; in fact, he even considered it as siding with outsiders. The Jiangcheng R&D Center's position in the nanometer industry has always been marginalized, and their efforts to seize this opportunity were a positive sign.

"I'll talk to President Tang. Su Bo, you should submit an application report today, highlighting the advantages of building a factory in Jiangcheng. If the head office doesn't object, they will send an assistance team over in the next few days."

Zhao Chang'an said, "The Ericsson and Siemens teams have plenty of time this time. You can talk to Jiangcheng about focusing on the supply and demand matching of the industry. Siemens is definitely very interested in building a medium-sized chip factory in China. In this field, their competitive advantage is constantly being taken over by companies like TSMC and STMicroelectronics, including the Ericsson and Sony mobile phone chips they manufacture. If nothing unexpected happens, they will most likely use chip factories in North America or Japan after the contract ends."

Currently, SMIC in Mingzhu produces over 3 8-inch (approximately 200mm) wafers per month, and TSMC is also planning to build an 8-inch microchip wafer fab in Mingzhu. Mingzhu also has three other companies entering this field: Grace Semiconductor, Belling Semiconductor, and Advanced Semiconductor. These, along with local companies from Pengcheng, Lin'an, Ningbo, and Leshan, plan to invest a total of US$100 billion in the 8-inch wafer field, with a monthly wafer production capacity of 70 wafers, of which the proportion of 8-inch silicon wafers will increase from the current 25% to 55%. All of this indicates that the world is optimistic about the Chinese market, and Siemens is no exception.

Ericsson is now eager to become a licensor of core mobile phone technologies, hoping to use their technical standards through joint ventures with Siemens chip manufacturers and domestic mobile phone companies. In this respect, they are also in a hurry, after all, mobile phone sales have been declining.

Investing in an 8-inch (approximately 200mm) wafer production line would require a total investment of approximately US$10 billion, while a 12-inch (approximately 300mm) wafer production line would require a total investment of approximately US$15 billion to US$20 billion. If a factory were to be built in Jiangcheng, Siemens would likely not agree to the 12-inch production line, so we'll start with the 8-inch line.

"As for investment, if Siemens and Ericsson get involved, Jiangcheng State-owned Investment can also take a stake through land or other means. Ultimately, the investment in one nanometer will not exceed $4 million, and these lines can also be raised through loans."
