StarCraft: Tyranid Empire.
Chapter 785: Marching into the Void
Following Augustus' order, the Xel'Naga world ship and the Ark ship Pride of Ottaris cleared the way on both sides of the Hyperion. A huge fleet composed of humans, Protoss and Zerg followed closely through the gate to the void, preparing to cross the Sea of Void.
In the dazzling light that shot out from the void, all the ships that entered began to twist and rotate, as if the fleet was reflected in the ripples on the water.
At the same time, the main battleships that passed through the void gate were larger than the other, and the number and density of other escort ships were so large that the commanders of various races and fleets had to hold another meeting in advance to unify the dispatch and draw up routes to prevent these ships from being destroyed by collisions before entering the void.
The plan to enter the void went more smoothly than Augustus had expected. Compared with the terrible enemy they were about to face, he and Tassadar were more worried about the confusion in command and the disorder of advance and retreat.
This is the largest fleet that humans and Protoss can muster, enough to easily conquer the galaxy and flatten the stars.
Augustus had prepared for this moment for ten years, using these ten years to build warships and expand the army. His Terran Empire had become extremely militaristic by the time of the Doomsday War, and the number of nuclear weapons in stockpiles alone was not enough to deal with a few remnants of the Old Federation and rebels.
"Channel entered."
"Checking wireless communications. Over."
"This is the communications center, everything is normal."
"Everything is normal at the intelligence center, and the detectors are operating well."
In the bridge of the Hyperion, everyone was solemn and on high alert. The busiest among them were the signalmen and recorders. In the past 12 hours, the Hyperion had become the center of the entire combined fleet.
Human warships have never penetrated so deep into the void before. If the radar is no longer functional, they will need observers and star mappers to locate the coordinates. The chaotic void is unpredictable and unpredictable, and its powerful energy surge is even enough to interfere with electromagnetic signals and damage electronic equipment.
Considering the worst case scenario, communications and even electricity would be cut off, and they would then have to fight on their own. People of this era no longer used signal flags to command battles. Even if they did, each warship might be thousands of miles apart even if it looked only a finger's distance away on the holographic image.
Throughout the battleship, on every deck, all departments, all combat positions, and all crew members were at their posts or ready to perform their duties.
In the dock on the lower level, various interstellar fighters that are about to be launched have been fully fueled, and the fuel pipelines like ties are being automatically pulled out. Looking around, there are ground crew members in uniforms, and vehicles loaded with missiles, machine gun bullets and bombs are speeding past.
Even in the most relaxed positions, everyone was told that they had to be alert. To fight in the void was like being swallowed by a giant beast and swallowed into its bloody belly.
Many people were terrified because they had not been told they were going into the void, but this was the military, not the loose coalition of rebels that they had been in the past, and it wasn't like they could just leave if they didn't want to fight.
At the same time, many more people still did not look back, because they believed that they were fighting for the empire and their families, because they believed that the emperor would lead them to victory as always.
"That kind voice is getting closer and clearer. His voice is full of pain and hope."
Kerrigan stood with Augustus, facing the huge holographic strategic and tactical picture on the star chart table. She didn't even wear the Ghost Agent's combat uniform, but just wore a dark Imperial Navy uniform like everyone else here, but she looked heroic and aggressive.
Going further ahead, you can see a row of seats for bridge officers. Everyone in the seat is staring at the operating terminal in front of them, as if there is some man-eating devil hiding inside.
"Speak human language, dear." Augustus stared at the holographic image in front of him.
On the screen, the ships that had passed through the void gate only accounted for a small part of their huge total number, and the last warships were still waiting for permission to enter the channel. Under normal circumstances, this was unimaginable, as the void gate above Urna was very large, but even so, Augustus's fleet could only queue up to pass through, like a large group of huge ships blocked in a narrow waterway.
Even though the Hyperion had entered the void, it had not been invaded by the void shadows or attacked in any way. The huge stasis net rising from the Purifier Fortress below helped them block all enemies and attacks from the void.
It is no wonder that the crew of the Hyperion is so nervous. Just outside the stasis net covering the sky, the space corroded by the void is bloody. Countless void creatures and alien insects are trying desperately to rush in, like a group of ants stuck on candy wrappers.
Under the erosion of the void corruption, these Zerg controlled by Amon became even more brutal and violent.
Below the stasis net, the Purifiers' fortress occupied the entire floating continent, and even the world ship was just a slightly larger meteorite compared to it. In the energy fields of countless energy cores, furnaces ignited by solar fragments smelted the crystal minerals that the Purifiers had taken from the void day and night. The city-sized automated assembly factory flickered with flickering orange flames, and the half-mile-long assembly line ran through it like a road.
Endless swarms of phantom fighters and cloners patrol their fortresses in the sky. Every time a containment tower high into the sky lights up again, a large number of stored Purifier personalities will awaken again, re-entering newly forged mechanical bodies to begin their eternal battle against the enemy of the void, tempering their blades with the blood of their enemies.
If the Purifiers are indeed the enemies of the Tyranid Empire, they will be a formidable opponent comparable to the Zerg.
At this time, the fleets of the Purifiers and Ihanli Protoss had already gathered above the fortress, stretching as far as the eye could see. These warships made of alloy and organic meteorites were of different styles, but they were all undoubtedly extremely beautiful.
"I think he's calling for help." Kerrigan shrugged. The old woman even had the leisure to act cute like a young girl. She wasn't nervous at all. "To be precise, he's guiding me to save him."
"I can understand why those Ihanli Protoss are so crazy. How could they refuse to save their gods?"
“But as Tassadar said, this could also be a disguise for our enemies. This is a trap set by Amon.” She continued, “He is trying to lure us here.”
"Why don't you ask me what I think?" Augustus said.
"What do you think?" In front of her husband, Kerrigan is a good supporting role.
"I don't think Amon is that smart," Augustus replied. "And if this is Narud's plan, it's too stupid."
"Obviously, Narud knows humans. He knows that we will never take risks for the gods out of pity, sympathy, or to save the Protoss. This is illogical and not rational."
"Okay, so what are we going to do?" Kerrigan obviously had her own opinion, but she knew Augustus had other plans.
"We have to go save him." But Augustus had read the script and knew that the Xel'Naga was called Aurus, and even knew all his plans and arrangements.
"." Kerrigan was speechless for a moment.
"I still can't believe it. Do you really think this voice will make me a Xel'Naga?" She paused.
"I believe it as firmly as I would die for you immediately," Augustus simply said.
"Well, there's nothing wrong with becoming a god, if that's what you want." Kerrigan said, "Then I will defeat Amon, and all wars will end. This is what I want to do. I've always wanted to do something for the people who love us." "The Xel'Naga are not gods, they should be considered high-dimensional creatures." Augustus still insisted on this point: "In theory, after you become a Xel'Naga, you will be close to immortality, and your life cycle will be the cycle of the universe's reincarnation. You see, as a new generation of Xel'Naga, you can easily create another incarnation that resides in the real universe, then..."
Augustus was actually speaking to himself. He had never tried to convince Kerrigan to become a Xel'Naga, and now he didn't need to. But Augustus was worried that Kerrigan would disappear from the world from now on, just like the bubbles of the Little Mermaid that disappeared in the sun.
"I won't leave you." Kerrigan saw the worry in Augustus' heart.
If Augustus had been qualified to be a Xel'Naga, he would have done so himself long ago.
But only Kerrigan is unique.
On the other hand, Augustus summoned Tassadar, Alarak and Clolarion all in the name of killing Amon, including the imperial generals. He only promised the Ihenli Protoss that he would save their gods.
It is true that killing Amon is Augustus' ultimate goal, but the order should be reversed.
That is, they will first rescue the imprisoned Xel'Naga, then let Kerrigan accept the eternal essence and become the new Xel'Naga, and finally defeat Amon with the body of Xel'Naga Kerrigan or God Kerrigan. But if there is another way, Augustus would rather Kerrigan stay by his side, and would rather she be a human being rather than a so-called god.
However, Augustus did not need to explain so complicatedly to Tassadar and the others, otherwise he could only confirm his identity as the Chosen One and the Prophet. Sometimes this kind of bluffing is quite useful, but when it comes to the fate of the race, it would be difficult to convince people by doing so.
"Your Majesty Augustus Mengsk, the stasis net is about to be lowered." The voice of the Purifier Talandar.

"I understand." Augustus immediately ordered in the fleet command channel: "All warships enter the attack position."
“Stay at your post,” he said. “Perform your duty.”
"Guys, all you have to do next is aim." Renault also said in the channel.
In the following period of time, all the Imperial Fleet had to do was warm up the main guns and prepare to aim, while waiting for the rest of the fleet to pass through the void gate and for the stasis net above the Purifier Fortress to fall.
As soon as the stasis net fell, countless servants of Amon rushed in impatiently, accompanied by void shadows that seemed to fall from the sky, as if a sky curtain flashing with scarlet lightning suddenly fell.
In every abominable face that let out a silent roar, Augustus saw countless void creatures. Some were just indescribable shadows, some seemed like projections of real life in the abominable void, and others were a mixture of the grotesque and the unreal.
The Purifier and Ihanli Protoss fleets took the lead in attacking, and the fleets gathered all the firepower to sweep away all obstacles in front of them with overwhelming force, clearing out large areas of blank space. Under the sweep of incineration beams, purification rays and phase weapons, millions of void creatures, alien insects and hybrids were wiped out.
However, compared with the boundless shadow that occupies the entire void, this is just a drop of water in the ocean.
The Hyperion moved almost closely following the Protoss' firepower that continued to extend in the void. Beside it were rows of Imperial warships wrapped in shield matrices, and each row had hundreds of Imperial battlecruisers spewing flames.
On the left was the ram-like bow of the White Star, which was now illuminated by the bright lights and gunfire. On the right, the entire observation window was filled with the huge shadow of the Xel'Naga world ship. Xel'Naga technology was the ultimate display of practicality and aesthetics, and human transformation was just patching up a perfect work of art. The world ship itself was not built for the purpose of war, and this move was like a primitive man tying a spear to a passenger plane to charge into battle.
The sight of the Xel'Naga worldship opening fire was still extremely shocking. With the help of the Supreme Protector Shantila and hundreds of thousands of phase technicians from the Protoss Empire, the Terran Empire was able to complete the transformation and upgrade of the battleship to the level of an Ark. Its armory was filled with super war machines such as Xanthos, Archangel and Odin, and both sides were full of fully-fired artillery groups and missile nests. Nuclear warheads were squandered like bullets without regard for cost, pouring down on all the enemies of the empire like a storm.
As if gathering the power of the sun at his fingertips, Augustus saw a huge pulse beam rising from the world ship, and a large number of Zerg and Void creatures were instantly slaughtered like cut wheat.
At this moment, all the warships - whether they belong to the Protoss or humans, or the half-mechanical and half-biological flying hives of the Cerberus swarm, are fighting and moving towards the Hyperion, and the Xel'Naga artifact carried on the Hyperion is now the most dazzling beacon in the entire universe.
The two wings of the human fleet were the Purifier, Ihan'li and Tal'darim Protoss fleets, while the Da'aram Protoss served as the center and rear guard.
As they get closer to the deepest part of the void, the erosion and corruption of the void shadows become more terrifying, constantly corroding the warships' shields and armor, and the enemies they encounter become stronger.
Hundreds of Leviathan monsters appeared in front of the coalition fleet. Their numbers were so large that people suspected that they were just illusions in the void.
At the same time, human and Protoss warships that were infected, corrupted, or reshaped with void energy also appeared one by one like ghosts seeking revenge. Many of the warships even retained their past hull numbers and logos, while they had long been declared crashed or retired by the Empire and Durram.
This is the void, which is also what Amon calls the realm of God. Any laws of the physical world may not apply here.
Amon's followers are worshippers of death and destruction, believing they can be reborn in blood, and this seems to be true.
Augustus found that as the Void Gate and the Purifier Fortress were left far behind, the pressure on the ship would increase with each step they took in the void. When they first entered the void, the invasion of void energy was just a turbulent stream, but now it was like a huge wave.
Those escort ships, which were far more fragile than the main battleships, were already overwhelmed. In the blink of an eye, one ship after another disappeared forever, and all the people on board were swallowed up into endless darkness.
Augustus seemed to be able to hear the screams and wails of these warriors before they died. These miserable and desperate cries were instantly drowned out by the background sound of Amon's wild laughter and angry roars in the void.
"Everyone on alert!"
"The enemy is attacking!"
"Large numbers of enemy troops are approaching quickly!"
Suddenly, a large number of Dark God fleets shrouded in shadows warped to the middle of the Imperial fleet at a speed that violated the laws of physics. A fleet of corrupted battlecruisers and Protoss aircraft carriers ignored the Imperial warships that were frantically trying to stop them and headed straight for the Hyperion.
In an instant, the area around Hyperion was filled with warships spewing red flames, and the flames produced by the explosion were particularly magnificent.
At this moment, no one could stay out of it, all the warships of the combined fleet were either advancing while firing, or rushing to the area where the battle was taking place. Some damaged warships were left on the road forever and abandoned, because they could neither catch up with the Hyperion nor return to the real world.
Life is like the sand in an hourglass, being consumed and reduced every moment.
On the bridge, Kerrigan was not affected at all. She held Augustus's hand wrapped in a steel glove, and occasionally closed her eyes to feel the call of the Xel'Naga, guiding the fleet in the direction of advance. (End of this chapter)
