Daoists praise the Tao, and Buddhism praises the Buddha.

Nine years later, Patriarch Bodhidharma has achieved great success in both Buddhism and martial arts, and Shaolin has since become the ancestral home of Zen.

Later, through the second patriarch Huike, the third patriarch Sengcan, the fourth patriarch Daoxin, and the fifth patriarch Hongren, Zen became more and more prosperous.

After Hongren, the fifth patriarch, it was formed because of the difference between the gradual enlightenment theory of Northern Zong Shenxiu and the sudden enlightenment theory of Southern Zong Huineng.

Today's Zen Buddhism is basically dominated by the Southern Sect. Compared with the Northern Sect's method, the Southern Sect's method is more in line with people's hearts.The Northern and Southern sects are not divided by region, but the origin of the two masters, one in the south and the other in the north, so they are called "Southern School" and "Northern School".

Master Huineng, the sixth patriarch of Zen, advocated that "mind and nature are inherently pure, and you are originally a Buddha. If you know your mind and see your nature, you can suddenly become a Buddha." That is to say, he emphasized "sudden enlightenment".The typical idea is "put down the butcher's knife and become a Buddha immediately". When a person has done bad things all his life, at the moment of death, it is like "a bird is about to die, and its song is mournful; a person is about to die, and his words are kind." I began to reflect on my mistakes in this life, and felt that I should not do so, so "the sins of the heavens will disappear as soon as you repent", and you can also be reborn in the Western Paradise and escape from reincarnation.

Master Shenxiu in the north believes that "everyone has the Buddha nature, but it is covered by the dust of the guest, so it is necessary to practice constantly and remove the dirt before becoming a Buddha." That is to say, he emphasizes "gradual cultivation", step by step Footprints, walking forward in a down-to-earth manner, as if constantly wiping away floating dust, can gradually reveal one's original heart and Buddha nature.Master Shenxiu believes that everything can be achieved overnight, and the principle of reaching the sky in one step, of course, must be practiced step by step, constantly practicing, and constantly getting rid of various bad habits such as "greed, anger, and ignorance" in order to finally realize the Tao and be liberated.

No matter who you are, you will like Nanzong's method in your heart. No one will not like comfort, joy, and freedom. Precepts are always binding people
In the Northern School of Zen, if you practice and keep the precepts step by step, you may not be able to realize Bodhi in the end; while in the Southern School's sudden enlightenment method, even if you don't practice, you may become a Buddha.

And compared to the method of the Northern School, the Zen of the Southern School seems to be more forceful and more able to fool people.

For various reasons, the Northern Sect declined and the Southern Sect prevailed.

Of course, it does not mean that there is something wrong with the Nanzong's method. The "enlightenment" that the Nanzong's Zen method dreams of pursuing is not illusory. Psychotropic drugs, those who have reached this state, regard everything as nothing, have no worries, no joys and sorrows, and the feeling of joy is always in the heart.Buddhism calls it "enlightenment".

"There is one kind of dharma, and there is a delay in seeing it." Although there are [-] dharmas in Buddhism, these are just different distinctions created by the Buddha to fit the different faculties of all living beings. There is only one kind of Dharma, and there is only one truth. But each person chooses the Dharma door, the speed of practice, and the height they can reach are different. Master Xingyun said that there is no difference between sudden and gradual in Buddhism, but that the roots of sentient beings are blunt and beneficial.

People have north and south, but the law is one; people have advantages and bluntness, and the law has no gradual progress.

There is no problem with these, the problem is that some disciples of the Southern Sect use the excuse of epiphany to act recklessly.

Shi Feixuan has seen too many virtuous and eminent monks, but no matter how profound their Dharma and their principles are, none of them can compare with the Wulu monk who protects the living.

That is more than 300 small lives, and they were born and preserved under his hands.

He realized the Dharma under the bodhi tree, and became a Buddha through the six consciousnesses.

Before he attained enlightenment, ghost demons were dispatched in groups to confuse and interfere, trying to devour his flesh and blood.

Just as the group of demons was about to devour Gautama Siddhartha, a holy light suddenly appeared above his dharma body.

Sweep away the demons, and the Buddha's light first appears! "

Yang Qingyuan turned to look at Concubine Shixuan who was still kneeling on the ground, and asked, "Did you see clearly?!"

Concubine Shixuan's heart was still shocked at this moment, whether it was the power of the Buddha's light from the Tathagata Palm or Yang Qingyuan's teaching her the behavior of the Tathagata Palm.

The martial art of Buddhism is vast, and Shaolin Temple alone has 72 unique skills handed down from generation to generation, not to mention Buddhist holy places such as Jingnian Temple and Cihang Jingzhai.

And Tathagata God's palm originates from the great wisdom and wisdom of the Buddha Sakyamuni seeking, proving, and enlightening.

According to legend, in order to save all living beings and relieve catastrophes, the Buddha passed down a set of unique knowledge to the world.

The nine strokes of the Tathagata palm are as follows: the first appearance of the Buddha's light, the golden-topped Buddha lamp, the Buddha moving mountains and rivers, the Buddha asking about the blue sky, welcoming the Buddha to the west, the Buddha's light shining everywhere, the heavenly Buddha coming to the world, the Buddha's teachings are boundless, and the ten thousand Buddhas are respected.

These nine strokes of the Tathagata God's Palm talk about the process of Sakyamuni becoming the World-Honored Tathagata from a mortal.

In fact, Yang Qingyuan only knows the three tricks of the first appearance of the Buddha's light, the Buddha moving the mountains and rivers, and the heavenly Buddha descending into the world.

However, Yang Qingyuan passed this set of martial arts to Concubine Shixuan not only to improve Concubine Shixuan's martial arts, but more importantly, to re-establish Concubine Shixuan's position in Buddhism.

The current concubine Shixuan is just a bhikkhuni with hair and practice, but it will be different if she has learned the palm of the Tathagata.

This is the supreme Dharma protection skill of Buddhism, not just martial arts, but also the Buddha Dharma of Sakyamuni.
