Lord Ma is the God of Heavenly Secrets of the Sixth Palace of the Southern Dipper, and is a star god personified by the star of Heavenly Secrets. Marshal Ma presides over the Nanji Tianshu Court, commanding the six heavenly gods to subdue the world's demons.

Wen Lingguan, whose original name was Wen Qiong, was called the Earth God Zhaowu General Wen Yuanshuai. In Taoism, he was named "Kangjin Great God" and was the first of the Ten Great Guardians of Mount Dongyue.
