Chapter 863 1 thought becomes a demon
Chapter 863 One Thought Leads to Demonic Power
Maitreya Buddha's sincere words did not move the Buddha Tathagata at all, and even aroused the Buddha Tathagata's disgust.
The reason why the Buddha rejected these words is the same as the reason why the Heavenly Emperor Fuxi in the Legend of Sword and Fairy world became a demon.
His ideas, goals, and thoughts were actually predetermined, not his true thoughts.
It was formed before His birth, just like His nose, eyes, and ears.
He was born with this idea; he had no real past and no real experience of everything in his memory.
After the Buddha, the Jade Emperor, and Laozi absorbed the serpent god's clone, the Buddha was corrupted by the demonic nature within the clone, becoming more ruthless and more intensely driven by desires. He even became somewhat cowardly and afraid of death due to the serpent god's dying wish to survive.
The Buddha could not heed the many teachings of Maitreya Buddha, but he was moved by Maitreya Buddha's earnestness and sincere words.
Suddenly I felt a little sorry for Maitreya Buddha.
His feelings for and longing for Lingshan were fake; they did not come from his true intentions.
How desperate he will be when he learns the truth.
Seeing that the Buddha remained silent, Maitreya Buddha assumed that his words had had an effect, and thus decided to continue persuading the Buddha:
“Buddha, Hu Xiuwu is not an evil person. He is just trying to give mortals a glimmer of hope. Does Mount Ling want to take away even the last bit of what mortals have left?”
“He also agrees with the Buddha’s teachings. Why doesn’t the Buddha discuss the Tao with him and seek the true scriptures? Why cooperate with the Heavenly Court and try to get something from a tiger?”
The reason why Maitreya Buddha urgently contacted Hu Xiuwu using the method of "seeing and hearing from heaven" was because he knew that Tathagata planned to cooperate with the Heavenly Court.
In desperation, he risked contacting Hu Xiuwu.
The Buddha did not intend to harm Maitreya Buddha's life.
However, Maitreya Buddha's words, "the principles of my Buddha," caused the Tathagata Buddha, who had initially felt a trace of kindness, to suddenly become malevolent.
'What Buddhist philosophy? That's not my philosophy.'
The Buddha looked at Maitreya Buddha, their eyes reflecting each other's hearts, their hearts reflecting each other's eyes, a method of mutual understanding between hearts.
He told Maitreya Buddha the truth about the world.
Having received the truth about the world from the Buddha, Maitreya Buddha was struck dumb, frozen in place, unable to speak.
It even emitted ten thousand rays of light, with ten thousand colors in the light, countless rainbows, and golden lotuses covering the ground.
That was a strange phenomenon caused by Maitreya Buddha's inability to control his Buddhist aura and his emotional excitement, which resulted in the leakage of his power. Unless Maitreya Buddha was in a state of extreme emotional collapse, it would be impossible for him to leak this power.
Guanyin, Manjushri, and Samantabhadra Bodhisattvas dared not be careless. They recited Buddhist scriptures, formed the lion mudra with their hands, and spread out the swastika scripture. Centered on the three Bodhisattvas, a triangular scripture cage extended outward, enveloping Maitreya Buddha within it.
The scriptures suppressed the Buddha's outward-spreading power and resealed his strength.
The three bodhisattvas never let their guard down against Maitreya Buddha, who was the future Buddha of Vulture Peak, the theoretical future Buddha.
His position in Lingshan can be described as second only to the emperor, and above all others. Without great strength, how could he have secured this position?
Especially in the world of Dark Myth, a mythological world with a cold and ruthless undertone. Without power, even gods and Buddhas will not show you any extra mercy.
Maitreya Buddha did not resist, still immersed in great shock, and the three Bodhisattvas successfully rearranged the seal.
However, Guanyin was very curious about what the Buddha Tathagata and Maitreya Buddha had said to each other.
When the Buddha made his move, he did not hide from Guanyin, Manjushri, and Samantabhadra. They naturally discovered that the Buddha was using magic and that Maitreya Buddha was transmitting his thoughts.
But what exactly did the Buddha say that made Maitreya Buddha appear so despondent?
"Guanyin, Samantabhadra, Manjushri, you three may step aside. I need to speak with Maitreya Buddha alone."
The Buddha spoke gently to Guanyin and the other two.
"Amitabha!"
The three bodhisattvas chanted the Buddha's name, took their leave, but did not leave Mount Ling.
Because of the previous great war between Mount Ling and the Heavenly Court, the Bodhisattvas and Buddhas in their respective temples returned to Mount Ling to resist the Heavenly Court's attack. After the Heavenly Court suddenly stopped fighting and made peace, Hu Xiuwu's faction reappeared in the Eastern Continent.
Therefore, the Buddha did not order the Bodhisattvas and Buddhas gathered at Mount Ling to leave. It was because of this matter that the Buddha was able to seize upon Maitreya Buddha's weakness.
If Maitreya Buddha were in his own temple, there would be no need for such trouble.
After Guanyin, Manjushri, and Samantabhadra Bodhisattvas left.
In the majestic and cold Great Thunder Temple, only the Buddha Tathagata and Maitreya Buddha remain.
The Buddha then ceased his disguise; his majestic Dharma body resembled a golden-capped snow-capped mountain perpetually swept by cold winds, beneath which lay an unmelting, golden aura of Buddhahood.
The Buddha pointed at a flower, shook his head regretfully, and said:
“Maitreya, why do you insist on bringing up Buddhist scriptures and opposing me? Now there’s no going back.”
He didn't actually want to kill Maitreya Buddha. Maitreya Buddha's strength on Mount Sumeru was second to none, and as the future Buddha, he had many followers in the mortal world.
But when the Buddha told Maitreya Buddha the truth about the world, he would never let Maitreya Buddha leave.
He must die!
No matter what Maitreya Buddha says, it's all in vain.
Even if the Buddha himself had some regrets, he would still kill Maitreya Buddha while regretting it.
Because Maitreya Buddha knew the secret he shouldn't have known.
Once the demonic thought arises, it is ruthless and unforgiving.
The Buddha's downward-pressing finger drew ever closer to Maitreya Buddha, until it completely covered Maitreya Buddha with just one finger.
The finger pressed down harder and harder, as if imbued with the supernatural power to move mountains and throw elephants.
The shadow cast by the finger formed a black prison, or perhaps a mountain, firmly locking Maitreya Buddha beneath it, preventing him from escaping.
His finger slowly approached Maitreya Buddha, and the chilling killing intent jolted him awake from his daze.
Maitreya Buddha looked up at the Buddha's finger, two lines of clear tears streaming down his face. His hands were clasped together. He looked like a young novice monk, but his expression was that of a wise old man who had experienced many hardships.
"Why is it so? Why is it so?"
The Buddha sighed, but his movements did not slow down at all.
A finger that can easily pierce the earth can be crushed.
Unlike the last time when the Buddha suppressed the Five Elements Mountain, this time the Buddha harbored murderous intent.
There's no room to squeeze between fingers; if Maitreya Buddha were to collide with the Buddha's body, he would only be crushed into mud.
Maitreya Buddha closed his eyes, awaiting the end.
The finger pressed down on the floor of the main hall without leaving a single crack.
"Ok?"
Suddenly, the Buddha felt a foreign object on his finger, accompanied by a stinging pain.
It's normal to feel a foreign object sensation, but why is there a stinging sensation?
Will crushing the Maitreya Buddha, whose power has been sealed, still injure Him?
Beneath the Buddha's finger, a surge of emerald light eagerly burst forth.
After the green light came endless desolation and darkness, silence and destruction.
"Ah~"
The Buddha couldn't help but cry out in pain, feeling a pain that penetrated to his very bones, like the pain of being stung by a poisonous stake in his memory.
This time, however, it wasn't caused by poison; a sword had actually pierced into the Buddha's bones.
The sword energy, like Mount Buzhou, lifted up the Buddha's Finger that blotted out the sky.
The image below revealed Maitreya Buddha, who was reciting Buddhist scriptures with his eyes closed...
And Hu Xiuwu!
