Chapter 2365 (5)

The Leaf Blade's power is limited, and it's not a guaranteed hit, unlike the legendary Flying Dagger from Gu Long's novels, which is described as never missing and incredibly powerful. In the Pokémon games, Grass-type attacks are not strong, and their move power is only average; they lack charging and stopping capabilities, being single-target moves.

Looking at the skill description, it uses leaves to attack the opponent, which is easy to hit the vital points. It deals a lot of damage to Pokémon that are super effective against it, but against Pokémon that are not super effective against it, the skill's damage is not good, and sometimes it doesn't take away much of the opponent's health.

In the mid-to-late game, the Pokémon you encounter have a lot of health. Even if you're ten or twenty levels higher than your opponent's Pokémon, without type advantage, even a critical hit might not be enough to defeat them in a few moves. The Empisi in each stage has multiple healing items and panaceas; if you're not strong enough, you might have to fight for several rounds to have a chance of winning.

The Pokémon I used had a move called Leech Seed, which was very useful. It implants a plant-type seed, causing the Pokémon to steal HP from the opponent each turn while restoring its own. This was quite effective in slow, drawn-out battles at the stage level. If you equipped it with Leftovers, which also restores a little HP each turn, the combined effect would be even better. However, I haven't obtained such a held item yet; I haven't explored all the areas thoroughly, nor have I caught many Pokémon, so I haven't met the requirements for the professor's assistant's gift. In the mid-game, I used Lucky Eggs, which granted extra experience points after winning battles.

The other two moves of that Pokémon are both powder moves. One is Sleep, which puts the opponent to sleep, making them fast asleep for several turns. They may wake up or not. If the user uses a healing item, the opponent's Pokémon may wake up immediately and continue the battle. The other is Poison, which poisons the opponent, gradually reducing their HP. The Poison move can be countered by the opponent's Panacea, but it has only a few dozen uses. Once the opponent runs out of antidotes, they will be afflicted with a status condition.
