Later in the game, in a hidden spot in the Earth Cave, you'll encounter Groudon, not in its Ancient Form, but in its Normal Form. It's one of the legendary Pokémon, though its base stats are lower than its Ancient Form.

Groudon is the cover Pokémon of the Ruby and Sapphire generations. Along with Kyogre and Rayquaza, they form the three legendary Pokémon of the Ancient Generation, each possessing unique strengths and all being powerful Pokémon. Previously, in online mobile games, trainers frequently used these Pokémon; if well-trained and skillfully utilizing their moves, they could hold their own against some high-spending players.

The Groudon I caught was poisoned to near death during the capture, and then caught with a single Ultra Ball. It was so easy, even easier to catch than some ordinary Pokémon. It was a stroke of good luck. It must have been fate, since the Solar Shield of Mega Groudon, one of the six great Pokémon, is based on Groudon in its normal and ancient forms, and has the strength to resist damage.

Some legendary Pokémon, if you don't use Master Balls to catch them and instead rely on luck and patience by repeatedly reloading saves, you might not catch them even after throwing dozens of Great Balls or Ultra Balls. But if you do catch that legendary Pokémon, you can just grab it immediately. That's a Pokémon you should have, one of your main Pokémon, capable of both offense and defense.
