In terms of calligraphy characteristics, the knife techniques of early oracle bone script are grand and majestic, with the strokes starting in circles and ending in sharp points, which is caused by the strong force of the strokes and the fast writing strokes. The strokes are interlaced with straight and curved lines, which are full of changes.

During this period, the text was relatively repetitive, the layout was well-arranged, the length was concise, and the number of words was small. In the late period, the length was longer, the font was thin, the beginning and end were measured, and the transitions were appropriate, showing a more rigorous layout and artistry.

Another example is the use of "erroneous use" and "tongjia". The so-called "erroneous use" is actually a typo. An error occurred in the process of writing a character, and such an error was inherited by later users.

There are many such situations in Chinese. For example, the two idioms "堂而皇之" and "冠ｍａｎｇｔｏｎｇｈａｏ", in fact, their earliest sources should come from the word "堂哉皇哉".

However, the word "tang zai huang zai" itself is a misnomer, because it first appeared in "Book of the Later Han Dynasty·Biography of Ban Ji", and the original text was "tang zai huang zai".

By studying this kind of development process, we can determine the age of the oracle bone inscriptions.
