Riding the wind of rebirth

Chapter 2365 Earth Forest and Karst Caves

The earth forest is located in Huanglianguan, more than 30 kilometers southwest of Qiongdu. It is a magnificent landscape formed by the glacial cutting and subsequent weathering of yellow sandstone and conglomerate over hundreds of millions of years.

The scenery here is somewhat similar to the Stone Forest, but the Stone Forest is much larger and is a karst landform. This place is smaller, but it's still worth a visit if you haven't seen it before.

But Xu Anxin felt that Anha Village was even more fun.

Anha Village is an Yi ethnic village, only half an hour away from the Earth Forest. There's not much to do in the village itself, but there is a large karst cave called Fairy Cave.

There is a stone tablet at the entrance of the cave with the four characters "deep, secluded, strange and dangerous" written in seal script. Judging from the inscription, it was erected in the 23rd year of the Guangxu reign.

Fairy Cave is still undeveloped and retains its original appearance. Wu Renzhong had already contacted the village secretary and found two young men from the village to be tour guides.

Xu Anxin was particularly interested in this kind of place. This girl actually liked excitement. Back when she went to Jiachuan, she forced Zhou Zhi to take her to walk on the steel pipe bridge over the Hongshui River, a place that many boys dared not walk on.

The village uses battery-powered mine lamps, and the group of people went into the cave to explore.

Visiting a cave without any lighting decorations is incredibly exciting. Humans have a natural fear of enclosed and dark environments, and the stalactites under the lights are even more bizarre and wonderful, some resembling palaces and courtyards, some resembling towering mountains, some resembling terraced fields and villages, and some resembling flowers, trees and shrubs.

More often, they resemble bizarre and grotesque monsters and ghosts, while others are crystal clear like jade pillars in a celestial palace, with sometimes icy cold "underground rivers" beneath your feet.

The cave branched out, sometimes wide open like a hall, sometimes narrow enough for only one person to pass through, full of changes.

Zhou Zhi and Xu Anxin felt as if they had returned to their rebellious teenage years, adventuring on the steel pipe bridge over the Hongshui River. Although they knew they were much safer now than on the steel pipe bridge, the unfamiliar and terrifying environment was still overwhelming. Zhou Zhi, being the type with an overactive imagination, was particularly adept at creating terrifying scenarios in his mind. Therefore, this was somewhat different from walking on the steel pipe bridge. On the steel pipe bridge, Xu Anxin was more afraid than Zhou Zhi, but in this environment, Zhou Zhi was more afraid than Xu Anxin.

According to the village party secretary, geological organizations have come to investigate Xianren Cave. The cave is very deep and about 20 miles long.

However, Zhou Zhi and his group were there for tourism, not serious exploration. Unable to resist the enthusiasm of the two guides, they walked about three or four miles into the cave. The road started to become a bit difficult to walk, and when they came to a deep pool, they began to have second thoughts.

"It would be really interesting if this place were developed." Emerging from the cave, the sunlight seemed even brighter and more dazzling than before. Zhou Zhi asked his cousin An Xin, "Cousin, are you scared?"

“I was fine at first,” Xu Anxin said, “but when I got to that deep pool and shone my flashlight down, I realized it was bottomless, and I started to feel a little scared.”

Then she laughed and said, "It's a good thing you backed out first, otherwise I would have had to bring it up." She even made a victory sign after saying that. At this moment, Xu Anxin regained some of the charming and carefree young female worker from the Dongdian Power Plant that she was before she got married.

On the way back, Anxin's cousin seemed to be in an unusually good mood, and even took the initiative to mention the fire grass cloth of the Lisu ethnic group to Wu Renzhong, which should also be a product promoted by the Light Industry Bureau.

In fact, Zhou Zhi had already called Wu Renzhong about this matter after returning from Huili. Wu Renzhong quickly inquired about the situation from the Huili Light Industry Bureau and the Culture Bureau. In the end, they found that the output of that thing was too low, and it was difficult to find a way to increase the output. Therefore, it was difficult to attribute it to the light industry sector. Instead, as an intangible cultural heritage, it seemed more reasonable to manage it under the cultural sector.

Xu Anxin originally intended to bring Li Laosan back this time. She didn't know that Li Laosan had come to Liangshan Gully to rely on Xiao Miao and Zhou Zhi to develop quantitative trading tools. Therefore, in her opinion, this matter seemed a bit strange. What was so attractive about Lianhe Township to Li Laosan?
Fortunately, Li Lao Er quickly filled the gap by chance, giving Li Lao San an excuse that could satisfy all parties: to build his own Tianxing Diwang system so that he could become a "cyber nomad" around the world in the future. At the same time, Zhouzhi could also use this system to prepare for the next step of building a world-class supercomputing network.

Once the initial technology matures, Li Lao Er's Yangtze River Communications will immediately follow suit, significantly improving the performance of its maritime communication network.

The ample funding of the Tianxingdiwang project also provided development opportunities for other national satellite projects. For example, the Beidou Navigation Experimental System, which started in 1994, could have easily "piggybacked" on this project.

The Dual-Satellite Navigation and Positioning System is China's most complex satellite system to date. Unlike other satellite systems, it requires two satellites to function properly and places high demands on the reliability of these satellites.

Moreover, satellites alone are not enough; its ground application system is also the most complex in China, involving many advanced and key technologies.

Because the BeiDou satellite navigation test system adopts an active positioning system, the system is limited in terms of user capacity, positioning accuracy, concealment and positioning frequency. Moreover, the system has no speed measurement function and cannot meet the requirements of high-precision guidance and tracking of moving targets.

These functions can be assisted by ground stations within China, but the positioning of mobile targets outside the country requires the assistance of other special satellites.

All these "eyes and ears" also need to communicate to connect them into a network and work together, and the Star Engine system can do this function.

With the Star Engine system taking over some communication functions, the BeiDou system can possess the performance of other satellite navigation systems, and even have location reporting and communication functions that other systems do not have, while saving a lot of costs. The investment is much less, so it can be said to be extremely cost-effective.

Weather satellites can also hitch a ride. Fengyun satellites can directly connect with Xiaozhi through this system, enabling them to forecast the weather and warn of natural disasters at the fastest speed, which is much more efficient than the current system.

Another impressive aspect is that once the Star Engine system is successful, China will have a highly reliable "satellite information integration and exchange platform".

In other words, the communication component of future satellites can be disregarded; they only need to carry a standard communication module to achieve high-speed, full-duplex data communication with the ground via the satellite engine system. This provides a new research and development direction for future satellite design, reducing satellite weight, design complexity, and energy consumption. (End of Chapter)
