Yang Tuo saluted and said, "The sage said:

Do not honor the virtuous, so that the people will not fight.

Rare goods are not expensive, so that the people will not be stolen.

See what you want, so that people's hearts will not be disturbed.

is ruled by saints,

Emptying one's heart, filling one's belly;
Weak its will, strengthen its bones.

often make the people ignorant and desireless,
Those who make their husbands know dare not do it.

If you do nothing, everything will be cured. "

"Tuo doesn't quite understand what the sage said. If all living beings in the world are ignorant and desireless, aren't they no different from livestock?" Yang Tuo asked the doubts in his heart.

Lao Tzu said: "The source of turmoil in the world is the heart. If the heart has selfish desires, it will fight, and fight will lead to chaos."

"The three clans of birds, beasts, and scales wanted to unify the world, and thus caused endless disasters. In the end, all three clans were injured, and only then did the lich rise."

"The Lich dominates the sky and the land, so everything is fine. But because they want to overwhelm their opponents and unify the Three Realms, the Lich War breaks out. This is what makes the human race rise!"

"Nowadays, the human race is faintly the protagonist of the world, but it is still full of selfish desires. It fights against hundreds of races externally, and fights for power and profit internally!"

"That's why the chaos in the world all stems from the heart. If people's hearts are not enough and selfish desires are rampant, the world will never have peace!"

"Selfish desires are the root of all evils. Only contentment and few desires will lead to no conflicts! Without conflicts, there will be no chaos and no evil in the world!"

Yang Tuo heard the words and said: "Although this is the case, if the human race does not fight, how can it rise from the heavens and all races?"

"If King Wu doesn't fight, how can he rescue the people who are trapped in the fire and water! If there are talented and virtuous people, if they don't fight, wouldn't the mediocre people occupy high positions."

"It is impossible for all creatures in the world to have no selfish desires, and even few desires can be achieved by only a few people. This kind of fighting will not stop, and if people fight, if I don't fight, won't it be harmed by others?"

Lao Tzu replied: "The highest goodness is like water. Water is good for all things and does not fight for it. It deals with what everyone hates, so it is more than Tao. Live in a good place, have a good heart, be kind to benevolence, speak good faith, govern well, do good things and move well at the right time. Husband only does not fight, so there is no preference."

Yang Tuo asked the doubts in his heart one by one, and Lao Tzu answered each one.However, Yang Tuo had more and more doubts in his mind.

What Laozi said is undoubtedly the way, but it is difficult to achieve.Since it is difficult to achieve, the one who does not fight must be the one who suffers.

The human race grows between the heaven and the earth, and has followed since ancient times: the sky is healthy, and the gentleman strives for self-improvement; the terrain is Kun, and the gentleman carries things with virtue.

The beautiful life of the human race today is also achieved through the struggle of countless sages.If the human race did not fight, they would have perished in this prehistoric world.

Therefore, the human race has always adhered to the concept of man's determination to conquer nature and self-improvement.

When a big river floods, you don't blame others, just dredge it.There is no need to complain about mountains blocking the way, just move them away.

This is contrary to Laozi's non-dispute and no desire.Lao Tzu believes that these should be determined by nature and do not need to be changed by humans.

However, it is precisely because of the desire to pursue beauty that endless motivation can erupt.Only then can we perfect ourselves, struggle and progress, and the way of heaven will develop.

If there is no desire, few desires, the world stagnates, there is no progress, the way of heaven cannot develop, and everything in this world stays at the original point, then what is the meaning of this world!
Following Lao Tzu's explanation, Yang Tuo had more and more doubts in his heart.Lao Tzu also saw Yang Tuo's doubts.

He said: "Quietness and inaction are my way, but not your way. Everyone has their own way. If you have doubts in your heart, this is a good thing."

"As long as you keep pursuing your own way, these questions will eventually be answered one by one in the process of seeking the way."

"That's why I say that you have already walked out of your own way. My way may not be suitable for you!"

Only then did Yang Tuo understand what Lao Tzu said at the beginning, not because he was unwilling to accept him as a disciple, but because "the way is different"!
Yang Tuo came from later generations and was baptized by the sages of Huoyun Cave.The Tao in my heart is biased towards the human race.The human race should strive for self-improvement, life and struggle!
