I am Master Maoshan
Chapter 2375 Reencounter with Mo Li
As soon as he said that, Wang Qiang's face turned bright red, his eyes flashing with fury, and he almost threw a punch.
He had never been looked down upon like this before, let alone by a scruffy-looking old man.
However, he suddenly remembered that Liu Jun had come here to recover his memories, and that he had important business to attend to, so he could only grit his teeth and suppress his anger. He couldn't let his momentary impulse ruin Liu Jun's important matter.
Moreover, this old man has a sleazy look to him and doesn't look like a good person at all. If he throws a punch, the house might end up being transferred to this old man's name.
So Wang Qiang silently stepped aside, but a hint of resentment still lingered in his eyes.
Seeing Wang Qiang's frustrated expression, Liu Jun felt a pang of sympathy. But he was more curious about why the old man valued him so much, and what secrets were hidden here.
“I can be your apprentice, but you have to tell me how I can regain my lost memories,” Liu Jun said solemnly.
His lost memories, like a huge mystery, lingered in his mind. Unable to find his memories, he could not sleep peacefully.
"You didn't come into this world alone, and the other one is the key to you regaining your memories. Become my apprentice, and the opportunity will arise," the old man said solemnly.
His words echoed in Liu Jun's ears, causing his heart to beat faster involuntarily.
"Okay." Liu Jun agreed without hesitation.
He had made up his mind that no matter what awaited him, he would find his own memories.
The old man nodded slightly, a barely perceptible smile seeming to flicker across his lips.
"Come to work by yourself tomorrow night, and let your senior sister guide you." After saying that, the old man waved his hand, dismissing him.
"Okay," Liu Jun replied again, then turned around and left the shop with Wang Qiang, who had been standing beside him.
After Liu Jun left, the shop returned to silence. The old man sat quietly in his chair, gazing out the window at the night sky, as if deep in thought. Suddenly, a large black dog slowly emerged from the shadows behind the old man.
This large black dog was tall and had glossy black fur. Its eyes gleamed with a ghostly green light, exuding a wild and fierce aura.
The big black dog walked to the old man's side, lay down, and gently rested its head on its front paws, but its eyes remained alert, observing everything around it.
"This kid really followed us, what should we do?" the old man asked softly, as if talking to himself, or perhaps to the big black dog.
The big black dog raised its head, glanced at the old man, and then let out a low growl with a strange meaning.
The old man smiled slightly and reached out to gently pat the big black dog's head.
"Never mind, I hope he can choose a path that is beneficial to himself." After saying that, the old man closed his eyes, as if he had fallen asleep.
The big black dog lay quietly on the ground, no longer making a sound, as if it had fallen asleep.
Time passed, night fell, and Liu Jun went alone to the funeral supplies store.
Wang Qiang originally wanted to go with them, but the old man had already asked Liu Jun to go by himself, so he couldn't say anything more.
Liu Jun walked slowly down the road, and finally, the sign of the funeral supplies store appeared before his eyes.
Unlike yesterday, this time the shop was no longer occupied by that lewd old man, but by a young and beautiful girl dressed in plain clothes.
She stood quietly beside the counter, her posture elegant, dressed in simple, clean clothes without excessive decoration, which only accentuated her fresh and refined appearance.
Not far away on the stairs, there was a large, shiny black dog lying down.
When Liu Jun walked into the store, the big black dog only raised its head slightly, glanced at him, and then continued to lie on the ground, as if it was not surprised by Liu Jun's arrival.
"You must be Master's newly recruited disciple?" A young girl's melodious voice rang out in the shop.
Liu Jun was slightly taken aback; he hadn't expected the girl to ask so directly. He carefully examined the girl in front of him, feeling that she looked very familiar. Her appearance, figure, and voice all seemed to hold a place deep in his memory, as if she were very important to him.
"Who are you?" Liu Jun frowned, his eyes full of doubt, trying to search for information about the girl from the fragmented memories.
However, the fragments of memory about this girl seem to be buried very deep, so deep that they cannot be dug out at all.
The young girl smiled slightly, tidied her hair, and then introduced herself: "Let me introduce myself. My name is Mo Li, and I'm your senior."
"Mo Li?" Liu Jun murmured, the name seeming to be a key that instantly unlocked the door to his memories.
Fragments of memories flashed through his mind, and he seemed to see a blurry figure that gradually overlapped with the girl in front of him.
In his world, there seemed to be a hidden story between him and this girl, but he couldn't remember what it was.
"Aren't you going to introduce yourself?" Mo Li asked again, noticing Liu Jun's somewhat dazed expression.
Liu Jun then came to his senses, scratched his head somewhat embarrassedly, and said, "Angang, my name is Liu Jun."
Mo Li nodded, walked to Liu Jun's side, looked him over carefully, and said, "Liu Jun, I've heard my master mention you before, saying you're a very talented person. However, judging from your current appearance, it seems you don't know much about our shop."
“Yes, I only came to this store for the first time yesterday, and I don’t know much about anything here yet,” Liu Jun said.
Mo Li smiled and said, "It's alright, I'll introduce it to you slowly later. Now that you've already entered the field, you'll know what you should and shouldn't know." A hint of curiosity flashed in Liu Jun's eyes as he asked, "What should I know? What shouldn't I know?"
Mo Li's lips curled up slightly, revealing a meaningful smile.
"Have you ever heard of ghosts?" Mo Li said slowly, his voice low.
No sooner had he said that than a chilling wind swept through the previously calm shop.
Immediately afterwards, the bells hanging at the door started ringing incessantly, the sound sounding particularly abrupt and eerie in the quiet shop.
Liu Jun felt a chill run down his back, as if a pair of icy hands were slowly climbing up his spine.
He instinctively shrank his neck, his body trembled slightly, and his eyes were fixed on the doorway, as if something was slowly approaching from there.
He could feel his heart racing, the "thump-thump-thump" sound echoing in his ears as if it were about to jump out.
"We have guests." Mo Li's gaze passed over Liu Jun and looked behind him.
Her voice was calm, her expression composed; clearly, this situation was within her expectations.
Liu Jun froze, as if his pressure points had been struck, rendering him unable to move. He wanted to run, but his legs felt like they were made of lead, and he couldn't lift them at all.
This fear overwhelmed him like a flood, making it difficult for him to even breathe.
While he was afraid, he also felt that the scene seemed somewhat familiar, as if he had experienced a similar situation in his original world.
"What...what did you see?" Liu Jun swallowed hard, his voice trembling as he asked.
His eyes were fixed on Mo Li, trying to find some clues from his expression.
Mo Li didn't answer immediately. Instead, she slowly walked to Liu Jun's side, patted his shoulder, and said softly, "Don't be afraid. Some things, once you encounter them, you have to face them."
Just then, the lights in the shop suddenly flickered, going on and off as if they might go out at any moment. A blurry figure slowly drifted in from the doorway, the figure appearing and disappearing like a wisp of black smoke.
Liu Jun's eyes widened in horror as he stared at the figure, his body trembling uncontrollably.
Like most ordinary people, he was also afraid when he saw this strange existence.
Mo Li appeared very calm. She took a few steps forward, stood in front of Liu Jun, and stared intently at the figure, saying, "Since you're here, show yourself."
The figure seemed to understand Mo Li's words, and slowly coalesced into a clear form.
This woman had a pale face, empty and lifeless eyes, slightly purple lips, and long, disheveled hair draped over her shoulders. She wore a white dress, the hem of which was stained with blood, making her look quite terrifying.
"This, this is a ghost?" Liu Jun asked, mustering his courage.
The woman in the white dress did not answer his question. Instead, she slowly floated in front of him, stretched out her pale hands, and gently stroked Liu Jun's face.
Liu Jun felt that the hands were icy cold, as if a large block of ice was pressed against his face.
"You...you don't touch me!" Liu Jun shouted in terror, trying to back away, but found that his body was frozen in place and he couldn't move.
Upon seeing this, Mo Li frowned, quickly took out a talisman from his sleeve, chanted an incantation, and then flicked it, sending the talisman flying towards the woman.
The woman seemed to sense the danger; she let out a sharp scream and quickly retreated.
The talisman grazed her clothes, leaving a golden streak in the air.
"You came here not to ask for help, but to seek death? Do you want to never be reincarnated?!" Mo Li asked coldly, his eyes revealing a sense of authority.
The woman in the white dress remained silent for a moment, then slowly spoke, her voice hollow and desolate: "I...I died so unjustly...I'm not reconciled..."
It turns out that this woman was harmed by a thug. The thug was attracted by her beauty and set his sights on her. Then, on a dark and stormy night, he tried to forcibly take advantage of her.
The woman resisted fiercely, shouting loudly. Fearing discovery and in a moment of panic, the thug killed her in a fit of rage and dumped her body in a desolate wilderness. Her soul lingered there, unable to find peace.
After hearing the woman's story, Liu Jun's fear was gradually replaced by sympathy. He looked at the woman and said softly, "Don't worry, we will definitely help you get justice."
Upon hearing Liu Jun's words, a glimmer of hope flashed in the woman's eyes. She slowly nodded, then turned into a wisp of smoke and disappeared into the air.
The lights in the shop returned to normal, and the eerie wind gradually subsided. Liu Jun breathed a sigh of relief, feeling his body finally regain its freedom.
"You're amazing! You actually managed to deal with a ghost." Liu Jun was full of excitement, his eyes filled with admiration as he looked at Mo Li.
He recalled the scene when Mo Li faced the female ghost, chanting incantations and waving his hand to create a talisman that shimmered with golden light, temporarily suppressing the ghost. He was filled with amazement.
Mo Li sighed softly, her brows furrowed slightly, a hint of worry in her eyes, and slowly said, "You're even more impressive, daring to make promises to ghosts."
Upon hearing this, Liu Jun paused, his previously excited expression instantly turning somewhat bewildered. (End of Chapter)
