The beast starts from zero

Qiao Sang was overjoyed.

As expected, Xia Bao can awaken new skills in different forms!
She suppressed her slightly excited emotions and looked at the characteristic that only appeared in battle form.

Toxicity absorption.
This is a great feature. You know, in a battle, it's really troublesome to face a Poison-type Pokémon. It's very difficult for Poison-type Pokémon like Ya Bao to defend against Poison-type moves. But if Xia Bao has this feature, then there's no need to worry about getting poisoned.

However, Xia Bao's level is a bit low. With only an A-level poison absorption, if the opponent's level is one level higher, it probably won't be able to absorb the poison-type skills they use.
As Qiao Sang pondered this, she looked down.

迟钝
A hint of surprise flashed in Qiao Sang's eyes.

Xia Bao actually awakened the trait of being slow-witted?
As far as she knew, pets that could awaken traits like dullness were inherently difficult to deal with emotionally, appearing rather silly and even having names like Little Silly Snake or Silly Cage. Xia Bao's emotions were so easily influenced by her surroundings, and she didn't seem silly at all, so she never expected her to awaken this trait.

I don't know how effective this feature will be.

It's a pity that Qingbao and Xiabao are both female, otherwise Qingbao could have used her charm.
Suddenly, Qiao Sang thought of something and her heart stirred.

Charm won't work, but Little Treasure Hunter has the Provoke skill, so we can let it try it on Xia Bao.
Qiao Sang immediately gathered his thoughts and looked at the new skills that had appeared in combat mode.

When she saw that there were only two new skills, her first thought was: How come there are only two new skills? I thought there would be three.
Then came the second thought: I can't think like that, I can't think like that. Two skills are actually enough. No other pet can awaken so many skills.

Qiao Sang looked at the skills.

Venom Trap, a mid-level poison skill, can create a venom trap, causing damage to the opponent.

Water-based continuous slashes.
"Water-based combo attacks?!" Qiao Sang was taken aback.

Water Slash is a high-level water-type skill that allows you to unleash a series of attacks with blades condensed from water energy. Its greatest strength lies in the fact that the power increases with each consecutive slash. If each slash hits the opponent, the power will be astonishing.

Unexpectedly, Xia Bao was able to awaken a high-level water-type skill in battle form.
Even though its water-based energy accounts for only 3% in its battle form, the lowest percentage of all its energy types...
Could it be that whether a pet can awaken a high-level skill of a certain attribute depends on the percentage of energy?
No, no, it must have been something he saw. Xia Bao's awakening of a high-level water-type skill was probably just an accident.

Qiao Sang stopped thinking about it and, after reviewing the data again, had a sudden thought and converted it into normal data before returning to reality.

As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw Xia Bao looking at her.

"Xia Xia."

Seeing her beast tamer open her eyes and look at her, Xia Bao immediately gave a sweet smile, and unconsciously emitted a fresh fragrance.

As Qiao Sang smelled the fragrance in the air, the information about the fragrance of life flashed through her mind. She quickly took a deep breath and tried to inhale as much of the fragrance as possible.

This fragrance is wonderful; we can't waste it.

Gangbao kept his thoughts in sync with the situation, remaining silent and simply mimicking his own beast tamer by taking deep breaths without making a sound.

"Search?"

Little Treasure Hunter keenly noticed this scene, looked at his Beastmaster, and asked curiously, "What are you doing?"

“I’m smelling the fragrance emanating from Xia Bao,” Qiao Sang explained. “This scent can clear the mind and is also good for the body.”

"Looking around~"

Little Treasure Hunter gave an "Oh, I see" look, exclaimed, and then took a deep breath.

"Teeth!"

"Qingqing."

"Tingting."

Ya Bao, Qing Bao, and Ting Bao all took deep breaths.

Seeing everyone taking deep breaths, Lu Bao didn't say anything, but took a deep breath herself.

Xia Bao paused for a moment when she saw everyone inhaling, then clenched her fists, held her breath, and made a serious expression, trying to let more of her fragrance emanate from her body.

After a few seconds, its face turned bright red, but the fragrance didn't increase; instead, it decreased, almost disappearing completely. Qiao Sang resumed normal breathing, looked at Xia Bao, and, seeing its flushed face, was startled. She quickly asked:

"what happened to you?"

Lu Bao looked over, circulated her energy, and the gem on her forehead emitted a faint blue light.

"Xiaxia."

Xia Bao stopped holding its breath, its face instantly returning to its original color, and it let out an embarrassed cry, indicating that it had just been trying to release more fragrance.

Lu Bao silently dissipated her energy.

Qiao Sang chuckled:
"This is a characteristic of yours; it only comes out when you're in a good mood. You can't force it out."

"Xiaxia."

Xia Bao felt even more embarrassed, her face flushed slightly, but this time it wasn't because she was holding her breath.

Looking at it this way, it seems a bit dull. To be honest, Slowness isn't a Poison or Water type ability, but a Normal type ability. Xia Bao doesn't have this ability in its normal form, and it's unknown whether it can't be activated in its normal form. Thinking of this, Qiao Sang said:

"Xia Bao, I want to test whether you have awakened any characteristics related to emotions."

Gangbao glanced silently at his own beast tamer.

"Xia Xia?"

Xia Bao paused for a moment, nodded, and then exclaimed, indicating how to try it.
Qiao Sang didn't answer immediately, but instead called out:
"Little Treasure Hunt".

Little Treasure Hunter stopped taking deep breaths, looked at his beast tamer, and called out:
"Search?"

“Try to provoke Xia Bao,” Qiao Sang said.

She paused, then added, "Don't unleash too much power, restrain yourself."

Little Treasure Hunt is now at the Royal level, and its proficiency in Taunt has reached the Perfect level. Even if Xia Bao's Slowness trait reaches the A level, it may not be able to resist it. It's better to control it.

"Looking around~"

Little Treasure cried out, indicating that it understood, and then looked at Xia Bao, suddenly raising a middle finger.

Xia Bao frowned.

"Looking around~"

Little Treasure turned around again, barking provocatively while wiggling its bottom at Xia Bao.

Xia Bao frowned even more deeply.

It seems that in its normal form, Xia Bao shouldn't be able to activate the Sluggish trait. Qiao Sang thought to himself, looking at Xia Bao's facial expression.

"Clear!"

In the blink of an eye, a gust of wind suddenly arose. Qingbao, who was right next to Xiabao, was affected by the force of the provocation. Veins bulged on his forehead, and he shouted angrily. He stretched out his feet from the white clouds and kicked Xiaoxunbao's still wriggling buttocks hard.

"Search!"

Little Treasure Hunter was caught off guard and kicked away, letting out a miserable scream.

Qiao Sang: "!!!"

Meanwhile, in another room, the Object-Knowing Monster glanced at the Object-Knowing Monster on the bed that looked exactly like itself, its eyes glowed blue, and it disappeared from the spot.

It needs to eat; it's really starving! (End of Chapter)
