The beast starts from zero

"Search."

Little Treasure Hunter let out a weak bark, indicating that it was almost there.

"Clear!"

Qingbao continued to laugh.

That just means you haven't learned it yet!

Little Treasure Hunter: "."

Seeing that Xiao Xunbao's mouth was getting more and more pursed, Qiao Sang coughed and said:
"This is only the second day that Little Treasure Hunter has been learning Spirit Link. This skill is neither its main attribute nor a high-level skill. It's normal that it hasn't learned it yet."

"Qingqing."

Hearing his beast tamer speaking up for Xiao Xunbao, Qingbao suddenly remembered his image in front of his beast tamer, and his unrestrained laughter subsided.

"Looking around~"

Little Treasure Hunter perked up, nodded repeatedly, and exclaimed, indicating that it was true.

Michael took a doll from the bag, examined it for a moment, and said:
"The doll is well made. Now we just need to wait for Little Treasure to learn the mental link so we can start experimenting."

After saying that, she looked at Penjami and asked:
"How's the mental connection going today?"

"Spray spray."

Penjami shook her head.

“Where do you think the problem lies?” Michaela asked again.

Qiao Sang pricked up his ears.

Penjami thought for a moment, then called out:
"Spray spray."

Little Treasure Hunter's mental energy was not concentrated enough, and his attention was not focused enough.

"Search!"

Upon hearing this, Little Treasure Hunter quickly called out to defend himself.

Its attention is already very focused!
"Spray spray."

Penjami looked at it and called out calmly.

You're just focusing your gaze.

Little Treasure Hunter: "."

“That means there’s not even any initial progress.” After summarizing, Michaela offered a solution: “First, we should focus our mental energy until it becomes a wisp that we can feel in our minds. Then we can move on to the next step.”

Penjami remained silent, indicating her agreement.

"Search."

Little Treasure Hunter was a little frustrated and in low spirits.

It felt that it might not have a talent for learning mind linking, and the doll wasn't what it wanted.

Just as he was feeling down, Qiao Sang spoke up:
"I roughly know how to train the mental link. I'll teach Little Treasure Hunter next."

Hearing his beast tamer's words, Little Treasure Hunter felt inexplicably relieved.

Penjami was about to say no.

Qiao Sang continued:
"Otherwise, it will disturb Meimei's sleep every morning."

Penjami fell silent for a moment, a hint of emotion in her eyes.

"Looking around~"

In order to get its own beast tamer to teach it, Little Treasure quickly nodded and chirped in agreement, indicating that it was right and that it would definitely disturb Meimei's sleep.

Michaela nodded slightly: "Alright, you have experience in teaching little treasure hunting skills. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me and Meimei."

“I will,” Jossan said.

Two o'clock in the morning.

Ya Bao and the others were all fast asleep.

My phone, which was charging on the bedside table, suddenly vibrated.

The alarm clock went off.

After only two vibrations, Qiao Sang opened her eyes, picked up her phone, turned off the alarm, and sat up while yawning.

She looked around, glanced at the sleeping Ya Bao and the others, tiptoed out of bed, and put on her shoes.

"Bingluo?"

Suddenly, Lu Bao's voice rang out.

Qiao Sang looked in the direction of the sound and found that Lu Bao, who had been keeping her eyes closed, had opened her eyes at some point and her head was sticking out of the water tank.

"Why are you awake?" Qiao Sang asked in a low voice.

"Bingluo".

Lu Bao called out.

It heard a sound.

“You’re becoming more and more vigilant,” Jossan remarked.

In the past, Gangbao was the most alert, but this time, in order not to wake Yabao and the others, she set the alarm clock to a slight vibration, but unexpectedly, it still woke up Lubao.

"Bingluo?"

Lu Bao asked the same question again.

What are you going to do?
It heard the phone vibrate and knew that its beast tamer had deliberately woken up at this time, rather than suddenly being hungry or needing to use the restroom.

After Lu Bao evolved into an Emperor-level being, the changes were truly remarkable. Before its evolution, even if it were woken up, its curiosity wouldn't have been this strong. Qiao Sang sighed inwardly, speaking the truth:

"I'm going to teach Little Treasure Hunter how to connect with the spirit."

Lu Bao looked puzzled.

Before it could ask, Qiao Sang lowered his voice and continued:
"During the day, Little Treasure Hunt has difficulty concentrating. At night, when everyone is asleep and it's quieter, it's easier for it to concentrate and has a higher chance of learning the mental link."

Upon hearing this, Lu Bao said nothing more, but silently circulated her energy, and the gem on her forehead shone with an icy blue light, illuminating her own beast tamer.

As the icy blue light faded, Qiao Sang's drowsiness and fatigue completely disappeared.

Lu Baoqiao felt a warmth in her heart and said gently:
"Thank you, go to sleep early."

"Bingluo".

Lu Bao nodded and shoved her head back into the water tank.

Qiao Sang moved quietly, stepped out of the room, and gently closed the door behind her.

She went to the living room and, sure enough, saw that Little Treasure Hunter was live streaming.

Hearing the noise, Little Treasure Hunter looked up, saw his Beastmaster, paused for a moment, and called out:
"Search?"

"Turn it off," Qiao Sang mouthed, pointing to the phone that was live-streaming.

"Looking around~"

Little Treasure obediently did as instructed, waving its paw at the phone screen and barking to indicate that its Beastmaster had called it, and that today's live stream would end here.

After saying that, he turned off the live stream.

After doing all this, it looked at its beast tamer with a puzzled expression and called out:
"Search?"

Is something the matter?
Qiao Sang walked to the sofa, picked up a small treasure hunt-themed doll that was on it, and said:
"Let's train our mental link."

Little Treasure Hunter was taken aback at first, then his expression fell, revealing a miserable look, and he cried out:
"Search?"

Seriously? Now? So late?

Qiao Sang glanced at it with amusement: "Didn't you learn many of your skills at night? Besides, you don't need to sleep, so what difference does it make to you whether it's late or not?"

"Xunxun~" Little Xunbao looked at him with a "makes sense" expression.

Then, as if remembering something, it cried out again:
"Search?"

Aren't you going to sleep?

"Lu Bao cast a healing spell on me, I'm not sleepy anymore." Qiao Sang sat down on the sofa and said:
"You can concentrate better at night, so we need to train at night."

Little Treasure Hunter understood something, his eyes filled with emotion.

My own beast tamer didn't even sleep so he could train me!
Something seems off. Aren't I the one suffering? I've already trained all day.
As the thought flashed through his mind, Qiao Sang continued, "If we learn the mental link as soon as possible, we can try to sense everyone's affection and absorb energy using this method. If we succeed, your evolution speed will definitely increase significantly."

She paused, then added, "Although Qingbao doesn't believe it, I do believe you can learn it quickly."

Little Treasure, remembering how Qingbao had mocked him, immediately became serious and called out:
"Search!"

It knows!

After speaking, his eyes glowed blue as he stared intently at the doll that resembled him.

A few seconds later, Little Treasure Hunter turned cross-eyed.

Upon seeing this, Qiao Sang's lips twitched. He thought to himself, "Good heavens, so this is what Penjami meant by 'focused gaze'."
"You've become cross-eyed," Qiao Sang said bluntly.

Little Treasure quickly shook his head, his eyes returning to normal, and then continued to stare intently at the doll.

Seeing that her pupils were becoming increasingly focused and threatening to turn cross-eyed again, Qiao Sang couldn't help but speak up:

"Can you sense your mental energy condensing into a single strand in your mind?"

The blue light in Little Treasure Hunter's eyes faded, and he looked at his Beastmaster, nodding:
"Looking around~"

Little Treasure Hunter is a royal-level pet. Although superpower is a secondary attribute, it accounts for a significant portion of its power, and it uses it frequently. Concentrating its spiritual power into a single strand is quite easy for it. It seems that only the issue of concentration remains, Qiao Sang pondered.

While it was pondering, Little Treasure Hunter noticed that its Beastmaster was not speaking, and its eyes lit up with blue light again as it focused its attention on the doll.

One second, two seconds later it turned cross-eyed again.

"Search."

A moment later, the blue light in Little Treasure Hunter's eyes faded, revealing a disappointed expression.

It failed again.

Qiao Sang pondered for a moment, then said:

"You cast your substitute. Let's not try to establish a mental link with the doll yet, but try it with the substitute."

"Search?"

Little Treasure Hunter looked puzzled and exclaimed, "What's the difference? In the end, we'll all have to establish a mental link with the doll anyway, right?"
Josang explained:
"Your energy fluctuations are present in the Stand. Its thoughts, its energy, and its actions are all under your control. The success rate of establishing a mental link with it is far greater than with the doll. If you succeed, the success rate will be even higher when you try to use it on the doll."

She spent the night studying the Spirit Link technique. The Spirit Link can be used not only on inanimate objects but also on living ones. Many professional beast tamers teach their pets the Spirit Link technique in order to achieve a deep bond in battles.

You can share the same gaze, feelings, and even thoughts with your pet during battles.

However, if you want to establish a mental link with a living being, the other party must actively open their mental area, and both parties must accept each other and achieve mental resonance before the initial mental link is successfully established.

In some ways, it is much more difficult to establish a spiritual connection with living beings than with inanimate objects.

After all, the latter only needs to train its own mental strength to keep it focused on the target, while the former requires the joint efforts of both parties. If the mental strength or emotions of one party fluctuate, the mental link may be broken.

There's no such trouble if you establish a mental link with your Stand, since the Stand is created by Little Treasure Hunt, and as long as it's stable, that's fine.

Most importantly, once Little Treasure Hunt successfully establishes a mental link with its substitute, the relevant skill data will appear in the Beast Taming Manual. This means Little Treasure Hunt has fully learned the skill and can use it directly on the doll.

"Looking around~"

Little Treasure Hunter's eyes lit up, and he called out, then quickly circulated his energy.

The next second, a Netherworld Lord that looked exactly like it appeared beside it.

Little Treasure Hunter looked at the substitute, and the substitute looked at it in return.

Immediately afterwards, their eyes simultaneously glowed blue.

In one second, two seconds, the pupils of Little Treasure Hunt and his stand-in became increasingly focused, and at the same time, they turned cross-eyed.

Qiao Sang's lips twitched when she saw this, but she didn't say anything to disturb it.

Two seconds later, the blue light in Little Treasure Hunter and his stand-in's eyes faded, and they both sighed.

"Search."

"Search."

It failed.
“You’re too concerned about success or failure.” Qiao Sang saw the problem and said, “This is only your third time practicing. Mental Link is a high-level skill. A pet that can learn it in three months is already considered to have high talent. You need to calm down and not be impatient. This is just an ordinary skill that you need to train on your way to becoming stronger.”

"Search."

Little Treasure Sighed and cried out, indicating that this skill was anything but ordinary; if it couldn't learn it, it wouldn't be able to evolve quickly.

Qiao Sang calmly said:
"Even if you learn this skill, you may not be able to increase your energy quickly. Don't forget, this is just a method for sensing emotional energy over a wide range, as Xiao Yulai mentioned. What you need to absorb is the power of genuine affection. Even if you sense it from a distance, you may not be able to absorb it."

She paused, then added:

"And don't forget, your final evolution point is on the battlefield, which means that regardless of whether you can absorb energy or not, whether it's sooner or later, the final evolution point and time will not change."

“The current mental link training is just to let you explore whether there are more ways to absorb energy.”

She's quite good at giving advice. Inside the closed room, the object-knowing monster lay on the bed with its eyes open, listening to the sounds outside and pondering.

"Search."

In the living room, Xiao Xunbao was taken aback at first, and then showed an expression that said, "That makes a lot of sense."

"So, keep a calm mindset," Qiao Sang said gently.

"Looking around~"

"Looking around~"

Little Treasure Hunter and his stand-in nodded simultaneously, called out, and then turned to look at each other, their eyes glowing blue.

One second, two seconds
This time, neither Little Treasure Hunter nor his stand-in had their eyes turned cross-eyed.

It seems there's been progress. Seeing this, Qiao Sang's heart stirred, and she watched quietly without disturbing her.

The night breeze stirred the curtains. The Treasure Hunter lay on the bed, and just when it thought Little Treasure Hunter was going to fail again, it suddenly heard Little Treasure Hunter's excited voice:

"Search!"

It seems like it succeeded!

"So fast?" The object-knowing monster was somewhat taken aback and sat up abruptly.

"Really?" Qiao Sang asked in the living room, both surprised and delighted.

"Looking around~"

"Looking around~"

The blue light in Little Treasure Hunter and his stand-in's eyes faded, and they nodded happily at the same time.

"You've learned it already?" Qiao Sang was overjoyed.

To be honest, she knew that with Xiao Xunbao's learning talent, she should be able to learn this skill quickly, but she never expected it to be this fast!
That's too fast. Although Little Treasure Hunter is a royal-level pet, it's unlikely it's misjudging, but we still need to confirm it again. Qiao Sang gathered her thoughts and said:

"Try to form a mental connection with the doll now."

"Looking around~"

Little Treasure Hunter nodded.

The next second, the stand-in disappeared.

Little Treasure's eyes glowed blue as it stared intently at the doll on the sofa that looked exactly like itself.

At the same time, Qiao Sang's consciousness quickly entered the Beast Taming Codex and turned to the page about Little Treasure Hunt.

Soon, she noticed a new line of data in the skills section:
[Mental Link (Beginner 1/100)+] (End of Chapter)
