The real culprit surrendered, and Guo Dapao was completely exonerated. He specially invited Hua Shier to celebrate and bought 10,000 firecrackers to set off in front of his building. The firecrackers crackled and popped for a long time, attracting many neighbors to watch.
After setting off the firecrackers, Guo Dapao shouted loudly to the surroundings:
"Have you all seen the news, neighbors and folks?"
"The real murderer has turned himself in! I, Guo Dapao, am innocent. Don't gossip about me behind my back anymore. I'm a damn good guy!"
Behind him, Grandpa Guo was in tears, and Guo Xiaoxue's eyes were also red.
Although Guo Dapao was released from court these past few days, he still faced a lot of criticism after returning home, especially from his neighbors. They were polite on the surface, but kept their distance from him and gossiped and pointed fingers behind his back.
So as soon as the real culprit surrendered, Guo Dapao couldn't wait to come out and slap these people in the face.
After setting off the firecrackers and shouting his words, Guo Dapao finally let out his pent-up resentment and returned to his carefree self, saying to Hua Twelve:
"Come on, Guoming, let's go to my house for dinner!"
Once upstairs, Guo Dapao pressed Hua Shier down onto a stool: "You sit here and don't move!"
Seeing the seriousness in his voice, Hua Shier chuckled and asked, "What are you planning to do?"
Guo Dapao took two steps back: "After I go in, if you cure my dad's illness, give Xiaoxue living expenses, and buy her clothes, I'll have to kowtow to you!"
After saying that, he was about to kneel down and kowtow.
Grandpa Guo nodded repeatedly; "He should kowtow!"
Hua Shier quickly reached out and grabbed his arm, and Guo Dapao immediately stopped kneeling down:
"Wow, Guoming, how do you have such strength!"
Hua Shier said irritably, "Why are you bringing this up between us!"
He was too embarrassed to say that he could have rescued you much earlier, but he was just using you as practice for his mission.
Hua Shier stood up as if to leave, saying, "If you keep this up, I won't come again!"
Guo Dapao finally stopped:
"I just don't know how to thank you enough! Okay, okay, you wait here, I'll go cook you some food, and we'll have a good drink together later!"
Hua Shier took a document out of his briefcase:
"Don't rush, sign this 'Guo Family Compensation Application' first. You've been imprisoned for over a year, the Guo family has to compensate you."
Guo Dapao was stunned: "You can still lose money?"
Hua Shier laughed: "You're lucky. This was stipulated by the new law starting January 1st this year. You just happened to be there at the right time. Once you sign this, I'll help you apply. You can just stay home and wait to get the money. It's your money."
Guo Dapao trusted him unconditionally, signed the document without hesitation, and then asked:
"Guoming, how much can I get?"
"The compensation for one day is 17.76 yuan. You've been locked up for over a year, so do the math yourself. Also, your meat stall was taken back by the market, so you'll most likely get your rent back. You'll get about 10,000 yuan in total!"
Guo Dapao exclaimed in surprise, "I lost this much after living inside for over a year? That's almost what I earned selling meat for a year, working from dawn till dusk. If I had known this would happen, I would have stayed a few more years!"
Hua Shier was speechless, realizing he shouldn't have felt any guilt towards this guy.
Even Old Master Guo couldn't stand it anymore and slapped his son on the back of the head:
"What nonsense are you spouting, you bastard? Staying for a few more years? Is that a good place? I'm old enough to be there, I can retire there!"
Grandpa Guo made this claim because he saw that his son not only didn't suffer much after going in, but also gained weight.
Hua Shier finally understands where Guo Dapao's unreliability comes from—it's definitely hereditary.
He whispered to Guo Xiaoxue, "Behave yourself, and never be so irresponsible like them!"
Guo Xiaoxue nodded repeatedly; she also felt that her biological father wasn't very reliable.
During the meal, Guo Dapao kept pouring wine for Hua Shier. After clinking glasses, he clicked his tongue and said:
"You really can't tell people like this. I've only been in jail for a little over a year, and Guoming, you've already become a big star, a superstar, and a mere 'Heavenly King'?"
Guo Xiaoxue, filled with admiration for Hua Shier, quickly corrected him, saying, "Dad Cui is now above even the Heavenly King."
When the two fathers were together, Guo Xiaoxue would call Hua Shier Cui's father to distinguish them.
Guo Dapao exhaled a breath reeking of alcohol and chuckled:
"Yes, in just one year, he's become even more powerful than the Four Heavenly Kings. Where can we go to reason with him!"
Hua Shier said irritably, "So you're saying I can't be famous, huh!"
Guo Dapao grinned foolishly:
“That’s not what I meant. I was just saying you can’t really tell a person’s true colors. Take Liu Tiezhu, for example. I always thought he was honest and kind, and I always tried to reason with him. I never expected that he would kill someone and frame me. I was wondering why he asked me where I was going to burn incense tonight. This was all premeditated. You can know a person’s face and heart by looking at them!”
Hua Shier patted him on the shoulder:
"Alright, let's look forward and let bygones be bygones. By the way, Cannon, have you thought about doing anything in the future?"
Guo Dapao didn't think much about it: "What else can I do? Go back and sell meat, that's my family's traditional skill!"
Hua Shier asked with a smile, "Do you remember that Boss Liu, the one who did the barbecue?"
Guo Dapao nodded: "I remember, the one who asked me to advertise for him, what's up?"
“We’re now in business together, running a chain of dumpling restaurants. It’s doing very well, and we’ve already opened our fourth branch. If you’re willing, once the compensation comes in, you can use that money to invest, and we’ll let you run the fifth branch. I guarantee you’ll earn more than you would selling meat!”
Guo Xiaoxue nodded repeatedly: "Dad Cui took me and Grandpa to eat there before, and the shrimp dumplings there were so delicious!"
Guo Dapao immediately agreed:
"Alright, I see now. You're the only really capable person I have around. What you do is always right. Well then, thanks for giving me a hand. Come on, let's have a drink, brothers."
After drinking at Guo Dapao's house until the afternoon, Hua Shier went to Li Xiaozhen's clothing store.
Upon entering, he saw Li Xiaozhen and Zhang Xiaomei attending to customers. At first, no one paid him any attention, but once they recognized him, several female customers immediately stopped looking at the clothes and surrounded him, their faces filled with surprise and delight.
"Cui Guoming, you must be Cui Guoming? Oh, I like you the most!"
Li Xiaozhen rolled her eyes helplessly, then quickly squeezed in and grabbed her man's arm to assert her ownership:
"Ladies, this is my husband, Cui Guoming. If you buy clothes from our store, you can take a photo with him or get his autograph!"
After she finished speaking, she ran to the counter and took out the camera she had bought specifically for taking pictures when she went to Hong Kong Island.
Several women had already taken a liking to a few clothes, and when they heard that there would be photos with a celebrity, they all screamed with joy, paid immediately, and then rushed to take photos with Hua Shier.
This store is located on a commercial street with a constant stream of pedestrians outside. Hearing the screams and cheers coming from inside, they all curiously looked inside. Once they saw that the big star Cui Guoming was taking photos with someone, they all rushed in to take pictures as well.
This time, Li Xiaozhen didn't even need to say anything; the women who had bought clothes earlier immediately objected and stepped in front of her.
"This isn't a photo opportunity you can just take anywhere. Look at us, we have to buy clothes first before we can take a picture!"
So, Hua Shier held a small autograph session in his own clothing store, selling several hundred pieces of clothing in two hours.
Li Xiaozhen looked at her husband, who was surrounded by a group of older women, her eyes crinkling into crescent moons as he continued to boast to Zhang Xiaomei:
"Look at my marketing strategy, how could business not be good!"
Zhang Xiaomei was speechless: "Sister, a single autograph from Brother Cui can sell for several hundred yuan. I think we're losing money!" Li Xiaozhen:
When the crowd thinned out, Hua Shier quickly waved to Li Xiaozhen, indicating that he was going out for a walk and couldn't stay there any longer.
As soon as he went out, he saw a newly opened tattoo shop across the street. Just as he was wondering if it was the same Dada from the original story, a stylish young man with a curly hairstyle walked out of it.
When Hua Shier saw this person, he thought to himself, "That's right, it really is that idiot."
The term "idiot" wasn't an insult, but a descriptive term.
Dada used to be a chef, but he switched careers and opened a tattoo shop because of his hobby. The key point is that he had never studied tattooing. You can imagine what the consequences were. He was lucky that he didn't lose everything.
In the original storyline, the two became acquainted because they were neighbors of Cui Guoming's clothing store. After the tattoo shop went out of business, the guy learned that Cui Guoming was going to Suihe to become a middleman, so he scraped together more than 7,000 yuan and insisted on going with him.
Once on the train, Cui Guoming reminded him to keep his money safe. This guy unzipped his pants and said, "My money is right here. Nobody can take it away." He even asked the old man sitting next to him, "Who would find it if I hid it in my crotch?" He was acting just like a complete idiot!
It turned out that the old man was a thief. While Dada was asleep, he used a razor blade to pull down Dada's pants. His skill was impeccable; he cut the pants open, took the money, and didn't even hurt Dada a hair.
Then Dada, wearing leaky pants, arrived at the border, got scammed, and even fell in love with a female thief.
This is the kind of person you can't really say is bad. He's actually not a bad person at heart, but he's also a bit of a goofball who gets into trouble everywhere. You just don't know how to describe him.
When Hua Shier saw Dada, he wanted to turn around and think, "Why don't I just ignore him? Let whoever wants to cause trouble do it. I'll just pretend I don't see him."
As a result, Dada's eyes lit up when he saw me, and instead of walking towards me, I walked towards him, stretched out my hand, and ran towards him:
"Brother Cui."
Since they had already called out his name, Hua Shier couldn't pretend not to hear, so he turned around, forced a smile, and shook hands with them.
Hello, do we know each other?
Dada pointed to his tattoo shop:
"I'm new here. I'd heard from the neighbors that this clothing store was owned by you, Brother Cui, a big star. I didn't believe it. I thought they were lying to me. But I've finally met you in person!"
Hua Shier's eye twitched: "You've even seen a dead one?"
Dada slapped his mouth: "Look at me, I'm rambling on and on. Brother Cui, how about coming over to my place for a cup of coffee? We'll be neighbors from now on, so I'll have to ask Brother Cui to take good care of me!"
Seeing how polite the other party was, Hua Shier couldn't refuse. Besides, quite a few pedestrians were already looking their way, and he was afraid of being surrounded, so he nodded and said:
"Then I shall respectfully accept your offer, and we shall look after each other from now on!"
Upon entering the tattoo shop, there was no one there; business was indeed slow, though the decor was quite nice.
To say that Dada's tattooing skills are lacking is an understatement; at least he has a good sense of aesthetics.
"Brother Cui, please have a seat. I'll make you some coffee!"
A moment later, Dada brought over a cup of coffee: "Try this, it's hand-ground instant coffee that I made myself, it tastes really good!"
"Hand-ground? And instant? I'll have to try it!"
Hua Shier took a sip, and the taste was somewhat familiar. He guessed it was Maxwell House instant coffee, which had been quite popular recently. He then used his hand to grind it a couple of times. This coffee was later renamed Maxwell House.
Dada saw that Hua Shier, this big star, drank his coffee and his face was beaming like a chrysanthemum.
He pointed to the shop's interior decoration: "Brother Cui, look at the decoration of my shop, isn't it nice? I did it all myself!"
Hua Shier nodded and said, "It's really good, very aesthetically pleasing!"
"Right? Look, I demolished this wall myself. It has a very fragmented, postmodern industrial style!"
Dada was even happier to see that Hua Shier approved of his aesthetic sense. He pointed to a wall that had been mostly smashed, leaving only the two side walls.
Hua Shier looked over and frowned; the wall was indeed quite thick.
"Could this be a load-bearing wall?"
Dada seemed completely unconcerned: "Who knows? Does it matter?"
Hey!
Hua Shier was shocked. This person was too carefree. If this is not important, then what is? He takes life and death lightly, right?
But then Dada asked, "By the way, Brother Cui, what is a load-bearing wall?"
Hua Shier frowned, realizing he had overthought things. What "taking life and death lightly"? This was exactly the idiot character from the original story, without the slightest difference!
He got up and went over to take a look. Damn, it really was a load-bearing wall.
The reason there haven't been any problems yet is twofold: firstly, the shop is only one story high, with cement slabs on top, which have limited weight; secondly, he didn't completely demolish the walls, leaving half a meter of wall piers on each side.
Hua Shier pressed down on the wall with his hand and gently exerted force, using less than a thousand pounds of strength, and the house began to sway slightly.
The decorations on the walls rattled, and white plaster fell from the ceiling in a flurry.
Hua Shier quickly released some of his divine power to stabilize the house before turning to the terrified Dada:
"See that?"
Dada, sweat beading on his forehead, asked, "Brother Cui, was that an earthquake just now?"
Hua Shier just wasn't familiar with him yet, otherwise she would have kicked him a couple of times.
"What earthquake? You've damaged the load-bearing walls, making the building less stable. You know how dangerous your situation is!"
Dada then got a little scared: "What should we do?"
Hua Twelve looked at it:
"There are two options. One is to repair the wall, but then you'll lose this space. The second is to reinforce it with a steel frame, in which case you can keep the door!"
Dada quickly replied, "Then I'll choose the second one!"
Hua Shier shrugged: "What's the use of telling me? Go find some construction workers!"
Dada stopped doing business and had to find someone to repair it immediately, so of course he didn't have much business.
Just as the two were about to leave, a burly man rushed in and punched Dada, giving him a black eye. Then, he grabbed Dada's frizzy hair and kicked him in the stomach.
Hua Shier quickly intervened, saying, "Brother, let's talk this out. Hitting someone is against the law!"
The man pointed at Dada and said, "It's illegal! I wish I could kill him. I'm so ashamed I can't face anyone!"
Hua Shier pinned the man to the sofa. He was strong, and the man couldn't resist. The man immediately glared at him and recognized him at a glance.
"Are you Cui Guoming?"
Hua Shier nodded and smiled, "It's me, brother. What's wrong with you? Fighting is not a good way to solve problems. Everything can be resolved through discussion!"
The man, his voice trembling with tears, took off his shirt and turned around:
"Look, what did he get tattooed?"
Hua Shier glanced at it: "Tyson? That's a bit abstract. Why is he wearing sunglasses?"
"Forget Tyson, I want Guan Yu tattooed on my forehead!"
