P.S.: Happy May Day holiday to all my brothers!
After paying his respects to Guan Yu, Zheng Chao pretended to explain to Hua Twelve:
"Brother Tianlong, you're a veteran in this business, so I don't need to say much. But let me be clear, this is your first time smuggling goods. If you get caught by the authorities, you should know what to do, right?"
Hua Shier raised his hand and patted Zheng Chao on the shoulder, his tone casual:
"Don't worry, I don't even worship Guan Yu, so of course I know what to do."
Zheng Chao nodded subconsciously:
"Good that you understand. Get in the car, all your documents are in there. Drive along the highway to Dongguan. I'll send two of my brothers to give you directions."
After saying that, he turned his head and ordered behind him, "Fenzi, Huazi, send Brother Tianlong on his way."
Flower Boy and Pink Boy nodded at the same time: "Understood, Boss."
Hua Shier smiled at Zheng Chao. There was a hidden meaning in his words; they were quite interesting.
He casually waved his hand and said, "I'm off to deliver the goods to Lao Zheng now. You're a good guy, let's get to know each other better in the future."
Zheng Chao grinned: "Alright, time will tell. We've got a long time to get along."
The two men, each with their own ulterior motives, exchanged a knowing smile.
Hua Shier got into the car with Hua Zai and Fen Zai, and drove towards the highway despite the wind and rain.
As soon as the truck rounded the bend, Zheng Chao's smile vanished like a candle blown out by the wind, instantly replaced by a ruthless expression.
He lowered his neck and tilted his head to ask the man with the thick gold chain next to him, "Has everything been explained?"
The man with the big gold chain quickly took half a step closer:
"Don't worry, brother. I've explained everything to Pinkie and Flower. When we finish the delivery and head back, we'll find a secluded spot and take care of them."
Zheng Chao spat out a mouthful of saliva from between his teeth, which was immediately washed away by the rain:
"Damn it, time will tell. I can't wait that long, I'm going to see what he's really made of today."
The man with the big gold chain suddenly frowned, as if he had thought of something:
"Brother, there was something that kid said that sounded a bit off to me."
What's wrong with that sentence?
“When you asked him what to do if he got caught with a hat, he said he didn’t even worship Guan Yu, so of course he knew what to do. The more I thought about it, the more I felt there was something more to his words.”
Zheng Chao pondered the sentence over and over, then suddenly his eyes widened:
"Damn it. We're guys in this business, we worship Guan Yu for loyalty. This kid says he doesn't even worship Guan Yu, so isn't that disloyal? If he gets caught, he'll definitely betray us!"
His facial muscles twitched violently twice, then he suddenly burst into laughter, the sound broken and intermittent by the wind and rain:
"Trying to play word games with me, huh? But I'm one step ahead, and I'm going to take his life today. He wants to be disloyal? He won't get the chance."
On the truck, the windshield wipers swished back and forth across the windshield, making a regular, muffled sound.
Hua Shier held the steering wheel, Fenzi huddled in the back seat, and Huazi sat in the passenger seat.
The two men had been silent since they boarded the train, their eyes gloomy, as if an invisible pressure was brewing in the carriage.
Hua Shier pulled out a cigarette with one hand and put it in his mouth. After waiting a moment and seeing that the two still didn't move, he opened his mouth and cursed:
"Holy crap, are you that clueless? Can't you see I'm driving? Light me a cigarette!"
Enraged by the scolding, Hua Zi blurted out:
"Who the hell are you cursing? Say it again, you son of a bitch!"
Before he could finish speaking, Hua Shier had already slapped him across the face.
Hua Zai's vision seemed to have been extinguished, his head buzzed, and before he could come to his senses, Hua Shier grabbed the back of his head and slammed it down onto the center console.
Each impact produced a dull thud, shaking the dust off the dashboard.
The fans in the back finally realized what was happening and hurriedly leaned forward to stop them.
"Don't fight, don't fight, delivering the goods is the priority!"
"He said he wasn't talking about you, right?"
Without turning his head, Hua Shier swung his elbow back, striking Fenzi squarely on the bridge of his nose.
Fenzi felt as if her brain had been simultaneously filled with all sorts of flavors, and her nasal cavity exploded with a loud bang. Tears welled up in her eyes, and her vision blurred instantly.
He covered his nose and leaned back, but the angle was a bit off, and the back of his head hit the car window hard. He groaned and couldn't catch his breath for a long time.
Hua Shier was clearly still angry.
He slammed on the brakes, jumped out of the driver's seat in the rain, went around to the passenger side, opened the door, grabbed the still dizzy Hua Zai by the hair, dragged him out of the car, and started hitting him mercilessly.
Every punch landed squarely, every kick was powerful, rainwater mixed with mud splashed up to waist height, and Hua Zai rolled around in the mud, howling in agony.
As the beating progressed, Hua Zai stopped crying out in pain and just kept begging for mercy.
"Kneel down properly."
Without the slightest hesitation, Hua Zai struggled to his feet from the mud and water, then knelt down in the rain.
Hua Shier opened the back door and beckoned to Fenzi while standing in the rain.
Pinkie was stunned in the car. This guy is too ruthless. Brother Chao even told him to kill the other guy on the way back. Who the hell is killing whom?
He trembled all over as he moved to the car door, his voice shaking so much he could barely speak:
"Boss Tianlong, I was wrong, I'll kneel down myself."
Before he could finish speaking, Hua Shier pulled him out of the car and threw him to the ground.
Pinkie didn't dare to resist. He scrambled to his feet in the mud and knelt obediently next to Flower.
Hua Shier delivered a resounding slap to the face, the sound drowning out the wind: "Shouldn't I curse you out?"
The two nodded hurriedly, "Of course, of course."
"Is it your fault that you won't light my cigarette?"
"It's our fault, it's our fault."
Even the toughest can be afraid of the stubborn. These two had no temper at all when they met Hua Twelve. They just did whatever Hua said.
Hua Shier nodded in satisfaction: "Alright. Each of you kowtow to me ten times and apologize."
The two people knelt in the mud and water, crying and kowtowing.
His forehead slammed into a puddle, splashing up murky yellow water droplets.
After the ten kowtows were completed, Hua Shier finally spoke and instructed, "Wash yourself thoroughly with rainwater. If you're covered in blood and mud, the inspectors might think I kidnapped someone." He then got into the car first, closed the door, and waited.
The two poor little brothers spent a long time washing and scrubbing in the torrential rain, barely managing to get the bloodstains and mud mostly washed away; you couldn't even tell unless you looked closely.
He was so cold that his face was pale and his lips were blue, and his upper and lower teeth were chattering. He was sure to catch a bad cold when he got back.
The two got back into the car. Hua Shier lit another cigarette, and Fenzi and Huazi reflexively pulled out their lighters at the same time, trembling as they leaned over to light them.
But they were using disposable plastic lighters, which had been soaked in rainwater, and their thumbs were sore from rubbing against them, yet they couldn't even produce a spark.
Hua Shier remained silent, simply watching coldly.
He remained silent, which made the two men even more flustered; their fingers trembled more and more as they missed their target.
It was Pinky who was quick-witted. He leaned out of the back seat, took the cigarette lighter from the car, heated it until it was red-hot, and put it to Hua Twelve's lips.
The cigarette butt finally emitted a faint red glow. Only then did Hua Shier start the car and get back on the road.
As the truck approached the highway entrance, red and blue police lights flashed alternately amidst the wind and rain. A temporary checkpoint had been set up here during the typhoon.
Pinkie's teeth chattered, and he spoke haltingly, his voice trembling:
"Brother Tianlong, no, no, no... don't be afraid. It's probably border control and anti-smuggling. As long as we act normally, everything will be fine."
Hua Shier glanced at him speechlessly, then said, "With your current delivery, who's the one who's afraid?"
"I...I'm just cold." Pinky shrank his neck sheepishly.
The truck slowly drove up to the checkpoint, and a policeman wearing a raincoat raised his hand to signal it to stop.
Hua Shier rolled down the car window, handed over his documents, and smiled naturally and amiably.
"You've worked so hard, it's really not easy for you to still be working during a typhoon."
The policeman nodded, glancing towards the cargo compartment: "What are you hauling?"
"A truckload of toys, the owner wants it delivered to Dongguan." Hua Shier handed over the shipping order that Zheng Chao had prepared.
The police officer glanced at the form, his gaze falling on the two miserable faces in the passenger seat and the back seat.
What's going on with those two?
Hua Shier remained unfazed: "I don't know them. I just met them on the way, and they looked like they were getting soaked in the rain..."
Flower Boy and Pink Boy didn't expect him to say that. They nodded awkwardly to the policeman, forcing out a smile that looked worse than crying.
The police officer didn't ask any more questions and waved his hand, saying, "Go."
"okay."
Hua Shier had just rolled up the window and started driving. The instant the truck drove away, a figure stepped out of the police car parked by the roadside—it was Jie Bing.
The wind and rain blurred the vision, but Jie Bing still recognized the face in the driver's seat at a glance.
"Other crimes?"
After the truck drove away, Jie Bing quickly walked over to the colleague who had just been questioned: "What was that truck carrying?" "They said it was toys, all the paperwork was in order, there were no problems."
"Toy?"
Jie Bing had a sudden thought. He had strongly advocated bringing forward "Operation Rainstorm" because he suspected that a toy factory had problems shipping its products during stormy weather.
Now, seeing Yu Zui, who had been to a detention center and couldn't become a policeman, driving a truck full of toys during a typhoon, what does that mean? His suspicions instantly surged.
He greeted the captain and then drove off in a car.
Hua Shier hadn't driven far when he spotted the tail in his rearview mirror.
With his sharp eyesight, he recognized Jie Bing driving the car at a glance, even through the curtain of rain.
As they passed a gas station, Hua Shier slowly pulled into the service area and turned to instruct Fenzi and Huazi:
"Let's go down and buy some food to eat on the way!"
After the two got out of the car and entered the supermarket at the gas station, he opened the car door and walked straight to the back.
When Jie Bing saw Hua Shier walking towards him, he knew he had been exposed. So he simply got out of the car and stood in front of Hua Shier, braving the wind and rain.
"Yu Zui, what's in the truck? Open the cargo compartment, I need to check."
Hua Shier waved his hand, as if shooing away an annoying flying insect:
"Jie Bing, get lost. You've been following me all this way, don't cause trouble."
Jie Bing's face turned completely cold:
"Do you recognize this uniform? Open the cargo compartment right now for inspection, or don't blame me for being rude."
At the entrance of the gas station convenience store, Fanzi was paying at the checkout when Huazi inadvertently glanced out through the glass and happened to see Hua Shier confronting a person in uniform in the rain.
He suddenly tugged at Fenzi's sleeve: "Fenzi, hurry up and go out to see what's going on."
The two of them didn't bother to get change and ran out with their things.
Hua Shier caught a glimpse of Fenzi and Huazi running this way out of the corner of his eye, and suddenly grinned at Jie Bing:
"Okay, you want to check, right? Then you can check."
He turned around, opened the driver's side door, gestured for him to enter, and spoke in an overly polite tone:
"Get it checked, hurry up, don't delay my business."
Jie Bing glared at him fiercely and strode forward.
Just as he turned to pass Hua Shier, he suddenly felt a gust of wind behind his head and knew something was wrong.
Before Jiebing could react, she felt a sharp pain in the back of her head, her vision blurred, and then she went limp like a machine that had lost power.
When Pinky and Flower ran over, they saw Hua Twelve carrying the unconscious policeman and dragging him into the cargo compartment. The two were so terrified their voices cracked:
"Brother Long, what... what's going on?"
"What else could it be? He came with us and wanted to open the box to inspect the goods. How could I let him touch our stuff?"
Hua Shier shoved the man into the cargo compartment, then turned and yelled at the two men:
"What are you all standing there for, you idiots? Come and help! Put him in the car and drive him away, save us the trouble."
The two thought this was too intense, but they didn't dare to hesitate for a moment and kept replying, "Yes, yes!" They hurriedly carried the person into the carriage.
While the two of them were busy lifting the person, Hua Shier stood behind them without making a sound, took out his phone and started recording.
This demonstrates a police officer's self-discipline: always preserving evidence!
Everyone saw those two assault the police, right?
Jie Bing: I just don't believe it.
Haozi and Kun: We even have photos!
I got back into the car, but before we even started moving, Zheng Chao called:
"Brother Tianlong, turn around and go back to Guangzhou."
Hua Twelve immediately launched into a tirade:
"Are you stupid? I'm already on the highway, how can I turn around on the highway? Don't you know that's illegal?"
Zheng Chao's face turned black from being choked by him. After a couple of seconds of stunned silence, he managed to squeeze out a few words through gritted teeth: "Stop messing around, okay? We're breaking the law anyway."
Hua Shier paused for a moment, then suddenly realized what he meant, and gave an embarrassed smile:
"Is that so? Then it's alright."
There happened to be a junction near the gas station. He seized the moment when there were no cars coming from the opposite direction, turned the steering wheel, and the truck turned around and went back in the midst of the wind and rain.
The checkpoints at the highway entrances still had their police lights on, but the checks were noticeably stricter on the outside but looser on the inside. Vehicles heading towards Guangzhou were not checked and passed through smoothly one after another.
Jie Bing was so unlucky that she missed an opportunity to be rescued by her colleagues.
Zheng Chao's phone kept ringing the whole way, leading Hua Shier to a remote, abandoned resort.
The car eventually stopped in front of a dilapidated villa.
As soon as the car came to a stop, several figures poured out of it.
As soon as Hua Shier got off the bus with Fenzi and Huazi, several guns were already pointed at his forehead.
After being escorted into the villa, he saw a long-haired man standing in the center of the hall. The man had a gloomy face, was smoking a cigarette, and was deliberately striking a pose of debauchery.
Just then, a young man responsible for unloading the goods ran in: "Boss, there are hats!"
In an instant, the villa erupted in chaos. Several people drew their guns, the dark muzzles all pointing at the doorway.
The long-haired man abandoned his pretentious pose, a cigarette slipping from between his fingers, and his expression changed drastically: "How many people have come?"
Hua Shier said irritably, "Just one. Someone I met on the road wanted to check my car, so I knocked him out and arrested him."
The long-haired man stared at him with suspicion: "Are you serious?"
At this moment, his subordinate pointed outside and nodded repeatedly: "Boss, there really is only one, it looks like he was beaten unconscious."
The long-haired man glanced at Hua Shier suspiciously, then turned and strode outside.
Only after confirming with his own eyes that there was indeed only one unconscious person in the carriage did the long-haired man feel half relieved.
Back at the villa, a henchman came forward and whispered that the goods had been checked and were in good condition. The long-haired man finally breathed a sigh of relief.
However, he turned his head and threw a dagger onto the floor in front of Hua Shier, making a crisp clang. The long-haired man's voice was cold and uncompromising:
"I can't completely trust you yet. Go kill him, or I'll kill you."
As soon as he finished speaking, his two henchmen simultaneously raised their guns and pointed them at Hua Shier.
Hua Shier raised his hand and delivered a swift counter-slap, slapping it squarely across that gloomy face.
No one expected this person to make a move directly, and no one had time to react.
The long-haired man stumbled from the blow, and before he could regain his footing, Hua Shier grabbed his flowing hair and dragged him in front of her like a sack of potatoes to shield him from the bullet.
"Shoot! We'll die together!"
"What are you doing! Let go of our boss!"
"Let go of me now! Or I'll beat you to death!"
His henchmen swarmed around him, pointing their guns at him and cursing, but none of them dared to actually pull the trigger.
The long-haired man was so startled by the sudden slap that he saw stars, and then, with his hands tied behind his back, he was restrained. His face immediately turned a deep purplish-red.
"You bastard, you dare hit me? Ouch!"
Before he could finish speaking, Hua Shier raised two fingers and poked him in the eye. Even a light touch on the eyeball hurts, let alone being poked directly. The long-haired man let out a heart-wrenching scream.
Hua Shier reached out and slapped his cheeks hard several times, each slap crisp and loud:
"Damn it, I'm helping you deliver a shipment, and you want me to kill some cops? You've got some nerve."
"Do you know that people who offended me in the past, seeing how handsome and dashing I am, all advised me not to go down the path of crime at such a young age? You're going against the public. You're defying the heavens."
As he spoke, he pressed his hand against the long-haired man's eyes, his knuckles applying slight pressure: "Put down your guns, all of you. Otherwise, I'll gouge your boss out."
The group of henchmen were hesitant to act rashly, so they looked at each other, their guns still raised, but their morale had already collapsed.
Two quick-thinking individuals turned their guns on Flower Boy and Pink Boy, shouting at the top of their lungs:
"Let my boss go! Or I'll kill your brother!"
Hua Shierle spoke up: "Trying to outdo each other in ruthlessness, huh?"
He held up one finger, his voice brimming with excitement:
"Let's fight this mountain together, or we'll all be cowards!"
Everyone in the room was completely stunned. Hua Zai and Fen Zai were trembling like leaves, and tears were welling up in their voices.
"We're not in this group."
"one!"
Hua Shier had barely squeezed out the word "one" from between his teeth when his right hand had already drawn his gun from behind his waist with lightning speed.
American-style iaido, quick-draw technique, how about you?
No one saw how he drew his gun; they only heard a series of muffled thuds, which exploded almost simultaneously, with no discernible interval.
Three shots hit the three armed henchmen right between the eyebrows, and the remaining two shots hit the two unarmed henchmen in the groin.
After five gunshots, only smoke and screams remained in the hall.
Before the gunshots had even faded, a figure suddenly appeared at the villa's entrance.
The man, holding a pistol and holding his breath, cautiously peered into the doorway. It was Jiao Tao, Lao Fu's bodyguard.
Their eyes met amidst the smoke of gunpowder.
Hua Shier smiled and gestured with his chin, his tone as relaxed as if he had just finished a game:
"Xiao Tao, you've come at the right time. I'll help Lao Fu double-cross this deal. We'll take the money and not deliver the goods. Tell me, aren't I awesome?"
Jiao Tao was completely numb. He looked at the corpse on the ground, the long-haired man hanging as a shield, and Hua Zai and Fen Zai huddled in the corner, trembling. He didn't know where to point his gun.
"Brother, this is your first time doing this job, and Lao Fu is a little worried, so he sent me to check on you. What the hell is going on?"
